sorry, i really didn't know where to put this.
Anyways, back in the mid to late 90's i would watch a healthy dose of music videos and especially the countdown, hell i wouldn't miss a week from January 97 to July 99! but then with the turn of the century, i drew away from MuchMusic (and MuchMoreMusic) and was always looking more and more to the internet to grant me access to the music that the radio or TV wouldn't let me hear.
here we are in 2004, and it seems that Much/Fuse/MTV and whatever other stations are losing an enormous amount of their fanbase to digital music stations as well as online stations.
My question, do those above mentionned station really even matter anymore?

My question, do those above mentionned station really even matter anymore? I don't think they do. I don't know about Fuse, but MTV only plays videos about 25% of the time. I think they've gotten better about playing them recently. MTV2 plays a lot of videos, though. VH1 doesn't even play music videos at all anymore, except maybe really late at night. They need to change their channel name, because the moniker, "Video Hits 1," just doesn't fit anymore. And when these channels DO play videos, they play the same ones all the time. I liked MTV back in the 90s, when they used to have specialty shows like "MTV Jams," "Alternative Nation," "Yo! MTV Raps," and the like. Becuase then, you were ensured you wouldn't see the same video on MTV Jams that you saw earlier in the day on Alternative Nation. Right now the way MTV is, you can turn on the channel at 8:00 and see the New Found Glory, Jessica Simpson, and Christina Milian videos. Then, you can turn it on at midnight and see the same videos again.

I find that MuchMusic is turning into MTV, and MuchMoreMusic is turning into VH1.
That said, I do still enjoy MMM, especially overnight when they play continuous music with the "This Day In Music History" footer.
MuchMusic, while trying to be MTV, still has it's specialty programming which I enjoy - RapCity, Much 90s, One Hit Wonders, etc... The countdown is always a good source for videos, and is PowerShift.
In all reality, when you think about it, MM still does play it's fare share of videos. They just do so during specialty programming instead of MusicFlow.

The 'music' channels hardly play any videos (VH1, MTV and TeleHit) and when they do, they repeat the same videos over and over again. And after all, they only play the ultra popular videos that everyone has seen in other channels. It's really sad

MuchMusic has definitely gone downhill over the past couple of years. I don't know if you notice or not, but most of the Videoflow shows are not live anymore. VJs used to say the names/artists of the videos... but now they don't it anymore. ''MuchOnDemand'' is pretty much like MTV Canada's ''Select'', or MTV's ''Total Request Live''. I miss ''R.S.V.P.'' so much where the VJs would show those special artwork and song dedications. I hate the fact that MuchMusic is showing all these shows over and over again, as if we haven't seen them enough (i.e. MTV Cribs, Newlyweds, Making The Band 2); and they cancelled other shows like ''DownLo(?)'' and ''Electric Circus''... *shakes head* MuchMoreMusic definitely has some of the better shows, but then most of those are VH1 shows...
