Can someone please briefly summarize these two file formats for me?

my understanding is MPEG is pretty generic, common and broadly available.
whereas AAC files are those used on itunes, and downloaded protected AAC files from itunes music store prevents them from being played in other applications. Similar to how windows media audio files can't be played in itunes.
that's my guess, i'm sure someone else can be more accurate.

AAC is better quality...comvert all mpegs to AAC it is way better

^ I did that the other day, mainly because it cleared up a bunch of space.

I know... I said that I converted my files to AAC, like you said to do. I did that because the Mpeg files were taking up more space.
