2002 is what I currently but the question is should I renew or upgrade? I've been reading how 2005 causes the computer to run slower maybe cause some instability.
With an upgrade do you have to uninstall the old version or does it just do everything for you? This upgrade would be through the site, I wouldn't actually buy the CD.
Any help would be appreciated.
Another thing, do the free Antivirus programs work with Norton or does only one work at a time?

I have had conflicting programs run at the same time in the past so i wouldn't suggest it... and with my experiences 2005 has slowed down my computers... it might be automatic or you might have to do it every company is different.

2002 is what I currently but the question is should I renew or upgrade? I've been reading how 2005 causes the computer to run slower maybe cause some instability. If you're running Windows XP with less than 512K of RAM, you're going to have some problems and/or instability issues with any version of Norton AntiVirus... not just 2005. If you do have less than 512K of RAM, you should probably buy more... Memory is pretty cheap... It only costs about $30 for an additional 256K module. On average, Norton AntiVirus 2005 uses less of your computer's resources than both 2003 and 2004... I'm not sure how it compares to 2002. Norton AV 2005 also does a brief scan during boot-time... which could result in a much slower initial startup. Yes and No... It will probably uninstall the old version for you. However, you definitely want to uninstall your old version of Norton manually before installing 2005. Norton always works better on a clean install. Generally, no... you don't want to do that. However, it really depends on what the other antivirus program is. Running another antivirus program like AVG or McAfee at the same time as Norton will cause severe problems. On the other hand, running an antivirus scanner like Stinger or HouseCall, while having Norton running at the same time, is perfectly fine.
