Does anyone know what to do if you try to open a program, and it doesn't start even though it appears under "Processes" in the Window Task Manager? (the program does not appear under "Applications") I clicked to start dBPowerAMP Music Converter, but nothing happened, except "Music converter.exe" appeared under "Processes". This has never happened before (I just got back from vacation, and the person I share the computer with said he didn't do anything)... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program (and ended up with version 11 rather than 10) but it didn't work. If anyone has any idea how to solve this, that would be great. Thanks.

I am not sure about this one. I've never used that program. First of all I would recommend not letting someone use your computer while you are on vacation unless you have an application like deep freeze on there. Drew might be able to help you with this one.

Highlight that particular process and click "End Process". Then, try starting the program again. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer and then, try running the program again. If it still doesn't work... uninstall dBPowerAMP and then, reinstall it... or do a repair install. Restart your computer once more and, see if that helps...
If you have Windows XP, you could also roll-back your settings using System Restore... 1.) If you have anything important saved to the Desktop, copy it out to "My Documents" or somewhere else. 2.) Click "Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore" 3.) Select "Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time" 4.) Click "Next" 5.) Click the day on the calendar that the the program last worked properly. 6.) Click "Next"... etc...
If that doesn't work, you could try clearing the Window Size/Location Cache. There's a program that I use called CClean that can do that for you.

Thanks for the help. It is much appreciated.
I rebooted the computer, and I clicked to open the program before I went to bed, and in the morning, the program opened (I guess it just took a very long time). Because I reinstalled the program, though, I have the new version, which seems a little wonky (and very slow).

This happens for me with Adaware. The only way it seems to work ok for me is if i run it right after i reboot. It doesn't if if have been on the computer after awhile.
