You got me on that one... I'm running XP Professional and it works fine on my computer. Maybe, try installing Media Player 9 first... and then, installing 10.

Got this message when trying to install it Did you try installing Service Pack 1 first and then, installing Service Pack 2. Sometimes, they want you to install them in order.

Whats the difference Between Win XP Home Edition and XP Proffesional? Will all my software and files be erased if I switch to XP Professional?

What's the difference Between Win XP Home Edition and XP Professional? Will all my software and files be erased if I switch to XP Professional? No, you won't lose any files, if all you do is upgrade. XP Professional can be used on Business or Home computers... whereas, XP Home was intended to only be used on home computers. The professional version allows alot more flexibility especially for networking... that's the biggest difference. Basically, XP Professional just has more features that the XP Home edition doesn't have. I would suggest that you read up on it before you decide to buy the Professional version... In most cases, the Home edition will work just as well as the Professional edition.
