I don't use Windows Messenger, but every few minutes (when I'm online), it tries to access the internet. Since I've blocked internet connections through WM, it keeps on setting off my Internet Security thing. Every few minutes the little slide bar thing comes across saying that WM tried to access the internet and it has been blocked.
Is there any way to stop WM from trying to access the internet so I can get the damn slidy thing to stop sliding?

click start/run/ type in "msconfig" / click "start up" tab. / disable or uncheck "msmsgs" / click ok. as long as you're not using outlook, this will work. You could also try disabling it in your preferences, if that doesn't work.

i had that problem, but the fact was that WM was running without my knowledge, so what i did, let WM start, open it, go in the options menu and remove the check out of "automatically start Windows Messenger when Windows start" (or somthing like that)

Also, I use OE, so, I can't block msmsgs. I guess I can live with the problem, because it's nothing really bad, just an annoyance. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
