Going through the archives, after seeing that all female top 3, I did make a discovery. For the R&R chart for January 10, 1997, we had an all female top TEN!
10. Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back to Me Now 9. Jewel - You Were Meant For Me 8. Gina G - Ooh! Ah! Just a Little Bit 7. Cardigans - Lovefool 6. Alanis Morissette - Head Over Feet 5. Sheryl Crow - If It Makes You Happy 4. Merrill Bainbridge - Mouth 3. Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart 2. En Vogue - Don't Let Go 1. No Doubt - Don't Speak
I just wish music today that this kind of quality.

This was also posted on Pulse, to which I added the fact that there was an all-female lead Top 3 from 10-18-96 until 4-11-97...just under six months! And often during that time, the streak of consecutive spots held by female leads extended beyond the Top 3. But this week was definitely the longest consecutive reach. Most of that Top 10 is pretty good, a few being great. The least impressive of that Top 10 would probably be "Mouth" and "If it Makes You Happy".
