One of my all time favourite camp songs of the early 90's, a stroke of brilliance teaming up a hot techno act with country queen Wynette. And she's singing about people from Mu Mu Land!! The KLF was also noteable for creating a late 80's number one hit in the UK under a different name: The Timelords, with "Doctorin' The Tardis", a blend of the Dr. Who TV show theme and Gary Glitter's "Rock & Roll Part 2".

I remember liking "Justified & Ancient" a whole lot when it was out. At the time, I knew Tammy Wynette was a Country artist. I thought it was so weird to hear her on a song that sounded so different. I also liked The KLF's other recognizable North American hit, "3:00 AM Eternal."

www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPjggN-KByI "All bound for Mu Mu Land" "They're Justified and they're ancient and they drive an Ice Cream Van" LYRICAL GENIOUS. I can't believe this got stopped from being Christmas #1 in 1991 by a re-release of that overated Queen song which had already been #1 before!! Grrr. My favourite single from them though is still "It's Grim Up North".

Good song! Very different for the time, surprised it made the top 10 looking back! But it's a very creative song.

Thanks for the video link, Danny. I had never seen it before. Very campy and hilarious!
Hearing Tammy Wynette singing "They said, 'Tammy, stand by the jam'" always made me chuckle. But seeing her lip-sync it was a real kick! Cool video!
