For the last week of summer I was working at the Detroit News/Comcast Battle of the Bands (as Audio Engineer for some of the live recordings for TV broadcast). There has been alot of great acts, and here is a page with MP3's/WMA's of the Top 20 finalists entry's. A few have just missed the bottom of my chart (so far), and while the "Prime Ministers" won it all, they were not my favorite (Jiva was). Anyway, give them a listen - more talent then you will hear on any CHR station. 20 songs & groups you may like...... detnews.com/entertainment/sonicsummer/index.htm I'd like to know what you think of some of them..

The Tim Diaz Band - This one is nice, it didn't grab me too much, but it's a cool song The Prime Ministers - "Make me your mission" is really good, much more the kind of music I like and listen. Every Last Day - I wish the sound level was a bit higher on this one. Regardless, it's a good song too. Too bad they didn't make the final nine, cause it's a great song, and it's the best from the ones I've heard Free Element - The Waterline. Another great song, one of my favorites.
Thanks for that link plannine! (And thanks also, for the songs you sent me!)

Free Element - The Waterline. Another great song, one of my favorites. They surprised me.....nothing else they did (live) sounded like The Waterline. Very heavy/high engery sounding stuff. MC-5 meets Zepplin meets Megadeth meets Metalica

Xfer,
too many people (radio stations too) wait for someone else to tell them what to listen to or play. im glad that there are a few here like you, that will go the extra mile to find new music. your charts are so enlighting (and a challenge to find the songs) and enjoyable.

I listened alot to all the tracks this week.........one snuck into my top 31.
Thanks for the track you sent me......you were right on the poppiness of it. Maybe a bit too poppy.
