this album on a whole doesn't sound all that bad, it's not a JLP clone, but it's slightly more enjoyable then URS
(note, the songs are not put in as the tracklisting follows)
"Not All Me", this has a peppy, yet slow sound to it, Alanis' voices is displayed well. (B+)
"So Called Chaos", from what i can make it of it, this song seems like a mess, i really don't know what i think of this song right now (N/A)
"Eight Easy Steps", sounds a bit like an West Indian inspired track at the beginning, then it kicks into a rock sounding song, the recipe actually works pretty well here (B)
"Out Is Through", it's one of those tracks that is really good, but you don't really love (IMO) but this song actually eventually pulls you to loving it (again IMO) (B)
"Excuses", this is another track, i'm not totally sure which way to learn, it has the hook to drag you in, but the vocals don't really work with 'em... but it's not a total mess (B-)
"Doth I Protest Too Much", the title in itself doesn't inspire me to grand things for this track... but the music is very smooth and vocally this song is strong. (B)
"Knees Of My Bees", this song is weird, it starts with a hindu type of opening, and then the hooks nearly stay in that range the entire time.. the vocals are slightly irritating as well (C)
"Spineless", this track isn't really catchy, it also isn't very memorable, it's what i commonly call a "filler track" (C)
"Everything", this song is far too weak for pop radio, but for this album this song fits perfectly. (A-)
"This Grudge", this sounds like a boring song, but it has attracted me to liking it, it's not a fantastic song and will not be released, but it's a very strong album track (B-)
