The Max Online (november 12, 2004) -- The Max Records is ready to release a brand new song from MB in mid-December. The record label, formerly owned by the Stars Corp., was bought out by The Max in early 2004 and has since been renamed to The Max Records.
MB's last album, 2002's platinum-certified 'Anonymous', featured the hits 'All I Need' and 'This Is The Night'. Since then, he took a break from writing and recording and hadn't written a song for over a year but in late 2003, he picked up the pen and started again. By 2004, he had a few songs written and enough to begin recording his third CD.
"I said it with the last record but this time I really mean it when I say I'm taking a whole new direction with the songs." says MB of the new album, yet untitled. "I've decided not to limit myself in any way, whether that be song lengths, formations of songs, sounds of instruments, themes, whether they sound 'real' or not. It's going to be a completely experimental album. Pretty much to see the kinds of things I can come up with."
While still in the early stages of demoing, MB says he has enough material for a full record but won't stop writing and considering potential tracks until the CD is fully complete, which could be anywhere from January to late 2005.
"I want to finish the CD as soon as I can but I don't want to have filler this time so I won't rush it."
MB has given the go-ahead for a possible single that will appear on the album for release maybe in mid-December. He says the song is a different sound from his usual stuff. Darker with alittle more edge. The first of many experimental tracks that will appear on his record.
"I'm not sure if people will like the songs themselves but I'm proud of them so far because of how they came out lyrically and I'm working with beats and music and hope to come out with something that strays you away even just a little from mainstream music" says MB.
Since his last album was recorded, MB has discovered tons of new artists and records and says he has found a lot of new different sources for ideas and inspiration so what you hear next from him could make you say This is the same singer of 'This Life' or 'Feeling Love'?
Expect the new MB single to impact maybe December 14th.
