this isn't a stab at Leslie, in fact i notice that many online stations play the same songs
Example i'm listening to Radiostorm currently, and i've heard "Come Clean", "Toxic", "One Call Away" amongst others at least twice in slightly more then 12 hours... now i know that some people don't have an enormous selection, but isn't this just slightly annoying?

Twice in a 12-hour period is not that bad really... There are definitely worse cases.

Twice in 12 hours? That's nothing!
Also, many online radio stations try to sound like terrestrial ones by following a similar spin rotation. Playing a power heavy song 70 times a week for example.

well, hearing the same 8 or 9 songs within a 12 hour span does get annoying after awhile...

Twice in 12 hours? ...that's far from annoying. Twice is 1 hour would be annoying! ...not 12.

Kiss 108 usually plays the major 3/4 songs once every hour for the most part...

CKEY takes requests all the time... However, they don't play them. At the top of the every hour they tally all the votes, and the song with the most votes gets played. They call it the "Most Wanted". People can vote by phone, email, im, or by a form on their website.
This is a good idea because they don't have to play all the requests and can stick to their playlist and also ensures that the song that the most people want to hear gets played.
