"Now playing more of the hits you want!"
NewCap Broadcasting's HOT 89.9 Ottawa has bucked the recent trend of Canadian Top40's abandoning the format by adding some pop/rock titles to its playlist. The station has already changed it's voice imaging and a new website is in the works. Many believed last December that a change to CHR/Pop was imminent when former MD Scott Boogie left the station and HOT 89.9 added No Doubt's It's My Life. The station has since added Pop hits from Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. To avoid disenfranchising long time listeners, HOT will remain rhythmic leaning.
HOT 89.9 adds this week:
THE BLACK EYED PEAS -- Hey Mama USHER -- Burn AVRIL LAVIGNE -- Don't Tell Me SARAH MCLACLAN -- Fallen NELLY FURTADO -- Try
HOT 89.9 (CIHT-FM) is a BDS reporter to the CHR chart.
