C100 in Halifax has been playing a LOT of older songs lately! It's like they changed formats or adjusted their Hot AC format to include more gold songs. They still play the same current songs more. I like this change. I hear a lot of songs I haven't heard in years.

Looks like they've added a faily big chunk of 80s gold and even a little 70s. They're playing 1 every hour.
Guess they're re-positioning a bit in anticipation of the new CHR.

Interesting that there is no AC in the market - and a new CHR and Easy Listening on the way... it'll be interesting to see what C100 does.

Although an easy-listening station is coming to Halifax, it won't be AC. But what if it were to become AC? AC & easy-listening are different.

The Global license isn't a specialty license, and the station could well end up being a soft AC.

I like C100 better now because it offers a lot more variety than they used to play. I don't mind hearing currents but when the number of currents is limited to any number of songs (even 100 currents isn't enough for me) so to hear a bunch of old songs mixed with currents is great. If C100 continues to get better, the new CHR station may have to compete hard for my permenant radio dial position.

I'm liking the change at C100 also. When I heard "Human" from the Human League mid afternoon I thought it was weird then I kept hearing a bunch of 80's stuff and clued in there was a change. I hope they stick with this format. I love hearing the old stuff mixed in with the currents. I was getting a bit worn out of all the currents C100 was playing. I'll be checking out the new CHR but I have the feeling that it wont be different from the top 40 stations in other markets. C100 is the station that is on at the office so this new C100 is going to work well for me

Hey qmaxx! Welcome! And I'm looking forward to the new CHR for, hopefully, a wider variety of currents from a larger array of music genres but it could take a bit to upset C100 for me in the long run now.
