I can't believe my final chart of 2007 is upon us so soon! And it would have been posted earlier but I was away for the weekend...
To no one's surprise "How To Build A Time Machine" by Darren Hayes notches up a second appearance at #1 and by all accounts thus far "Casey" looks to be the next single from This Delicate Thing We've Made, as Darren is in the process of creating another animated video for that song! Roz Bell and Rihanna move up a notch each to #2 and #3, while Enur & Natasja surprise as "Calabria" soars 11-5! This should be a major crossover hit to radio soon! Roisin Murphy's "Overpowered" and Timbaland & JT's "Release" are both new to the Top 10.
Last week's two debuts are the fastest risers, with "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis moving 20-13 and illScarlett's "Life Of A Soldier" rising 28-21.
The first chart of 2008 will see 4 songs departing after their 10 chart appearances, so a rash of new tunes will invade the chart. In the meantime, to close out the year, I have three recent tunes debuting that have caught my ear.
You can view the full chart using the link in my signature.
I wish everyone the best of holiday celebrations this week!
NEW TO THE CHART
BABY WHEN THE LIGHT David Guetta f/ Cozi
This time around, massively pop!ular DJ David uses a female vocal to this song's advantage, a more than worthy follow-up to "Love Is Gone".
FEEDBACK Janet
Now that she's moved to Island Records, I'm not sure if they're marketing her with her last name or not. Although "Feedback" doesn't strike you immediately, it's one of her best songs in recent years and her first appearance on this chart since 2004's "Just A Little While". This one's a grower and should bring her back to the upper reaches of the charts.
STOP & STARE OneRepublic
Singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder has a bona fide formula, and I'm looking forward to hearing OR's debut CD Dreaming Out Loud. This is a fine follow up to the soon-to-be-a-classic "Apologize".
