Hello everyone! Yes he did it! Timbaland has replaced himself at #1 with "Apologize", featuring One Republic. This is the first time an artist has replaced itself since frequent Tim collab Justin Timberlake did it last year, with "FutureSex/LoveSound" and "SexyBack" back-to-back! That leaves another recent personal fave, Joshua Radin's "The Fear You Won't Fall" - which I was certain would be a #1 when it debuted at #16 a few weeks back - as the runner-up.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, we have a few changes, as "Stronger" by Kanye West & Daft Punk moves into the Top 5, George's "Last Time" and "Wake Up Call" by Maroon5 move up, and David Guetta's "Love Is Gone" reaches Top 10 status.
The Fastest Riser is Rihanna's extremely infectious "Don't Stop The Music" - despite the blah Michael Jackson sample - and moves up 24-14. The rest of the chart is pretty steady as it goes, with some changes in store in two weeks.
I resort to songs by several of my favourite performers to serve as debuts this week. The full chart is available using the link in my signature. Please post any comments that you have. Enjoy and have a great week!
NEW TO THE CHART:
CARS Naomi Striemer f/ Santana
The Fall is the perfect time for this song to start to take off. If you haven't yet charted it, do it now!
ME, MYSELF & (I) Darren Hayes
I like this song more every time I hear it, and now that I have This Delicate Thing We've Made in my hands, that makes it a future candidate for #1... but how soon??
PAPERCUT Roz Bell
As Roz says in the liner notes on his CD The First Sunbeams, "I was on a Hall & Oates kick when this song came". No kidding! Definitely more soulful than first single "Yesterday Man", this would still sound like a breath of fresh air on the radio.
RELEASE Timbaland f/ Justin Timberlake
It may never be released to radio, but the Shock Value CD kicks major butt and this is a tune I always look forward to hearing!
SEPTEMBER Marianas Trench
I don't know if "September" will be the official follow-up to "Shake Tramp", but it sounds really good up loud.
