Hello everyone!
The last chart of summer finds another change up top - Timbaland's "The Way I Are" knocks "Tears Dry On Their Own" by Amy Winehouse out of #1 - some mean feat considering I never really liked "The Way I Are" when I first heard it. But it's truly turned into being a signature sound of 2007. The rest of the Top 10 has some up and down movement, with Timbaland's other hot track, the ballad "Apologize", featuring One Republic" landing in the Top 10.
Last chart's debut of Inaya Day's "Breakaway" - which is begging for a North American release - is the fastest riser, while other songs by Maroon5, George, David Guetta, Shiny Toy Guns, dbClifford, and "You Can't Stop The Beat" by the Cast of Hairspray, are ones to watch.
Debuts were really slim pickin's this week... but I'm a bit behind on catching up with some of the more popular new tunes.
You can view the full chart - note the new, and I think more spiffy, layout - using the link below my signature.
Enjoy! Post your comments please! Thanks and have a great week.
NEW TO THE CHART:
ROLLERCOASTER Major Maker
In Canada, there is a TV commercial for Maynard's candy that uses this song to great effect. It's actually alt.pop - Toronto's Edge 102 has been playing it for weeks - and a commercial release has now surfaced on the Now 12 CD.
SOMEBODY'S ME Enrique Iglesias
No one's more surprised than me to see "Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)" drop off the chart, and for "Somebody's Me" to immediately appear on the next chart. It's everything you could ask for in a pretty ballad - well sung with nice lyrics.
