Hello everyone!
Darren Hayes keeps hanging tight at #1 - his 5th appearance (10th week) with "Step Into The Light"! Will he get a 6th in two weeks? Hard to say as Toronto singer Roz Bell moves up 6-2 with "Yesterday Man", while "Destination Calabria" by Alex Gaudino featuring dance diva Crystal Waters holds at #3. Making the most dramatic move (tied for fastest riser on the chart) is "The Way I Are" by Timbaland featuring Keri Hilson, D.O.E. and Sebastian (no, not that Sebastian...), cranking it up 13-4. We also have two Rufus Wainwright songs in the Top 10 as "Leaving For Paris No. 2" jumps 11-8.
Amy Winehouse looks set to acquire her 3rd Top 10 hit on the chart in two weeks, while last week's debuts from Mika and particularly Marianas Trench (tied for fastest riser) look to fit well into the mix.
Then... there are the debuts. Just as "Step Into The Light" might be weakening a tad at #1, "On The Verge Of Something Wonderful" arrives at #20... though I enjoyed the song when I first heard it at Darren's Toronto concert, it's taken a while to grow on me... just too much good music over the past few months. Also new is Kanye West's insanely catchy "Stronger", the great vocal mix that is Fabolous and Ne-Yo on "Make Me Better", and the sophomore single from It Won't Be Soon Before Long, "Wake Up Call" by Maroon5.
