Yeah, I know the topic subject is lame, but it's what I'm known for. Talking about something on another topic on these boards reminded me of something that I heard on MTV a couple weeks ago. Apparently, Backstreet Boys are heading back into the studio to work on their next album...and they're not alone. They're supposedly going to collaborate with Boyz II Men on a few tracks. This begs the question "Will anyone care that they're back when the album comes out?" I say, outside of their core fan base, not many will be interested. 3 years is a long time to be away. That allows too much time for casual fans to grow up and develop other musical tastes. It'll be interesting to hear what musical direction they go in, but I don't think it'll match the success of any of their previous albums.

I'm looking forward to hearing new Backstreet Boys, but so long has passed since they were last relevant that they'll likely flop.

Although i'm thinking/hoping theyll flop, im sure theyll at least go Platinum and score 1 top 20 hit, which in my books will be just fine to be a certified flop

as much as i may dislike the guys themselves, they've put out solid material... as long as they don't try to urban-ize their songs, they should do well... (better then the person y'all know i hate)

Their appeal has definitely dwindled over the past several years, but I am still interested in hearing their new materials, just to see how much they have grown/evolved. They will probably put out some more Hot AC stuff this time around...

Well, working with Boyz II Men (I don't know how many tracks they're collaborating on), I think the songs can't help but have a little bit of an R&B lean. I'd bet most of the songs will be Pop and R&B-oriented ballads with a couple mid-tempo songs sprinkled in. I mean, in their late 20s and early 30s, they'd hardly be believable recording, "Everybody (Part 2)."

The only way I'd want Nick Carter to grace my computer screen again would be in HIS porno with Paris Hilton... as long as he's out of the picture.
