John Butler gets pushed out of the #1 spot.....all the way down to #5. Which of these ladies did the deed.....well all of them, but only one, made it to the top of the chart this week. Find out at 31-13 ( 31-13.blogspot.com). While his record company released Two as the first single from the new Ryan Adams CD, "Easy Tiger", I prefer Everybody Knows, which his hitbound this week. 99% by The Mooney Suzuki is my favorite song of the moment, and it too is given hitbound status, something that has little value when i actually tabulate my chart. On the album/cd chart, John Butler also gets a shove, as Patti Smith, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Leslie Feist all pass him by. [note: Girls on Top was one of my favorite TV shows from the mid-80's]

It is great to see Amy Winehouse at number one, as well as Paula Cole, Wilco, Tori Amos, Patti Griffin, Feist, Peter Bjorn & John and Crowded house doing well this week.
It is also nice to see Charlotte Gainsbourg doing well on the album chart. 5:55 is a nice album that I listened to quite a bit in late 2006 to early 2007. It is great to see that it was finally released in the US. "The Songs That We Sing" hit my top ten early this year, so maybe it will hit your chart eventually. ;D
