100. Anitta f/ Missy Elliott LOBBY
One of a handful of her appearances on my year-end chart, I thought "Lobby" was going to be a big hit. It turned out not to be the case. Nonetheless, it spent 15 weeks on my chart and got to #17.
99. John Legend & Muni Long HONEY
Proving that the only artist who can appear on The Voice as a coach and continue to have chart success is Adam Levine, "Honey" was one of several really good songs that John Legend released in 2022 with only negligible chart success. This duet with Muni Long (aka Priscilla Renea) is still working its way down my chart after getting as high as #18.
98. Anitta BOYS DON'T CRY
Like "Lobby," I thought "Boys Don't Cry" was going to be a mainstream hit for Anitta. Also like "Lobby," it was not...but maybe had a little more chart success than that one did. On my chart, it spent 16 weeks with a peak of #17.
97. The Chainsmokers HIGH
"High" was all over the music station I listen to during the weekday while I work...for about three weeks. After I stopped hearing it all the time, my interest in the song waned, but not before it notched a peak of #14 during a 15-week run on my chart.
96. Megan Thee Stallion HER
2022 was a big year for Megan Thee Stallion, not only overall, but also on my chart. You'll hear more from her later on, but "Her," - which seemed to be perfectly tailored to garner her a huge Pop breakthrough and then abruptly lost promotional steam after she announced earlier in the year that she was taking a short break following a grueling couple years of newfound attention - checks in at #96 because of a two-week stay at its peak of #19 while on my Top 50 for 16 weeks.

95. Chris Brown UNDER THE INFLUENCE
This seductive tune caught my attention late in 2022 and is still on its way up my chart as of this date. Given that it likely hasn't reached its peak yet, you'll probably see it on my 2023 year end chart as well.
94. Shawn Mendes WHEN YOU'RE GONE
When your high-profile romance with a follow artist comes to an end, sometimes you gotta go emo for a little bit. And that's just what Shawn Mendes did...with mixed results, as far as I'm concerned. "When You're Gone" was a pretty solid song, though. At the end of the day, it lingered on my Top 50 for 17 weeks at spent two weeks at its preak of #19.
93. Ava Max MAYBE YOU'RE THE PROBLEM
How does the old saying go? If it happens once, maybe its the other person's fault. If it happens twice...okay. You've found another person you don't click with and the chemistry's off. If it happens three or more times, maybe you need to look in the mirror and do some self-assessing. After all, it's easier for any one of us to blame someone else (or multiple someone elses) rather than do the work to fix our own issues. That whole message wrapped in the candy coating of the Pop confection that was "Maybe You're The Problem" ended up snagging a peak of #13 while on my chart for 16 weeks.
92. Moneybagg Yo SCORPIO
As Hip-Hop has taken a less Pop-friendly turn over the past few years, I've found fewer and fewer rap songs making my personal chart, but I enjoyed the love-oriented "Scorpio" by up-and-coming rapper, Moneybagg Yo. It was on my chart for 17 weeks and peaked at #14.
91. Wale f/ J. Cole POKE IT OUT
This Hip-Hop club jam was on my chart as 2021 came to a close, so only part of its run came in 2022. But it did spend two weeks at its peak of #3 in early January.
More to come later today!

90. Neiked f/ Mae Muller & Polo G BETTER DAYS
After the gloom of the past few years, a peppy tune with a positive vibe is something so many of us were able to latch onto. I have to confess that I quickly got tired of this one and ended up dropping it downward fairly quickly. But before that happened, this song that started its run on the Top 50 in 2021 got as high as #7 in late January.
89. Bibi THE WEEKEND
Like the previous two songs, "The Weekend" by K-Pop artist, Bibi, was already on my chart when the calendar changed to 2022, but it peaked at #15 in early February
88. The Kid Laroi THOUSAND MILES
After having a huge 2021 and early 2022, "Thousand Miles" seemed destined to be another huge hit for The Kid Laroi. Alas, it started off huge and faded pretty quickly. However, it didn't necessarily follow that same suit on this chart. It peaked at #13 during a stay of 17 weeks on my chart.
87. Normani FAIR
More than any other year, I seemed to chart songs that I absolutely fell in love with, but they weren't big chart hits, whether we're talking about the Pop chart or the R&B chart. "Fair" was Normani's follow-up single to her huge R&B hit, "Wild Side." It wasn't a hit there, but did better on my chart, logging in 18 weeks in the Top 50 and peaking at #18 for three weeks.
86. Muni Long ANOTHER
No pun intended, "Another" was ANOTHER song that I liked quite a bit, but didn't have much chart success. After her utterly huge R&B hit "Hrs & Hrs," it fell flat on the industry charts, but the slow jam performed decently on the JT50, getting to #18 and hanging around for 17 weeks.

85. YG TOXIC
It's always fun when a song brings back memories of a big hit from the past. "Toxic" by West Coast rapper, YG, sampled Mary J. Blige's mid-90s hit, "Be Happy," which is one of my favorites from Blige's discography. Perhaps it was that association that helped it do so well on my chart. It's still in the Top 50, working its way downward after peaking at #6 in late November.
84. Beyoncé CUFF IT
I've enjoyed the turn toward Dance - particularly House - music Beyoncé took with her latest album, Renaissance. There will be more from her later on the year-end chart, but "Cuff It" is currently on its chart yet, likely not having yet reached its peak as of this posting. In another year, we'll see what that means for its appearance on the 2023 year-end list.
83. Cardi B HOT ISH
On the chart for 16 weeks and peaked at #9.
82. Justin Bieber GHOST
The last single from his huge most recent album, Justice, Justin Bieber's "Ghost" was already on my chart and had even already peaked before the close of 2021, but stayed on far enough into 2022 to make it to #82 on this list!
81. Tove Lo NO ONE DIES FROM LOVE
"No One Dies From Love" is another entry that wasn't a U.S. industry chart hit, but by way of that music station I listen to while at work, I got a healthy dose of hearing it earlier in the year for a handful of weeks. It was on my chart for 19 weeks and peaked at #17.
More of the list revealed tomorrow!

80. Amaarae f/ Kali Uchis & Moliy SAD GIRLZ LOVE MONEY
One of several artists from Africa who found mainstream success in 2022 with the rising popularity of the Afrobeat subgenre of R&B, Ghanian singer, Amaarae, released "Sad Girlz Love Money" in late 2021. Even though it had most of its chart run in 2022, peaking at #16, it did spend a few weeks on the Top 50 near the end of 2021.
79. Lil' Nas X STAR WALKIN'
2022 was nother big year for Lil' Nas X, continuing to show that he had so much more to offer than many of us probably thought in the wake of his breakthrough mega-hit "Old Town Road." I'm sure most thought we'd never hear from him again. And yet here we are! Although this isn't his highest-ranking song on the year-end list, because it only dropped a couple months ago and hasn't peaked on my chart yet, it's probably my favorite of the singles he released in 2022.
78. Drake MASSIVE
Although it was kind of overshadowed by the release of Beyoncé's Renaissance, Drake's 2022 release, Honestly, Nevermind, also dabbled in House music...though not as heavily as Renaissance. The most notable song on the album with that musical direction was "Massive," which peaked at #13 for two weeks and stayed on the Top 50 for 18 weeks.
77. Summer Walker f/ JT (from City Girls) EX FOR A REASON
I consider this song to be a musical descendant of Toni Braxton's 2000 hit, "He Wasn't Man Enough," because it contained similar subject matter: a woman worried that her guy's ex is going to come between their relationship. However just like in Braxton's song, Summer Walker is here to tell her that he's her ex for a reason and she's not interested in getting him back. The attitude-filled track hooked me in late 2021 and appeared before that year closed-out. But it did spend two weeks at its peak of #11 in early February before falling off of the chart in the spring.
76. The Isley Brothers & Beyoncé MAKE ME SAY IT AGAIN, GIRL
This song first appeared on The Heat Is On, the 1975 album by sibling R&B act, The Isley Brothers. For their first album in 17 years, "Make Me Say It Again, Girl" was reworked into a smooth duet with Beyoncé. The cool love jam is still on my chart, falling down after peaking at #7 a couple weeks ago.

75. Lil' Nas X THAT'S WHAT I WANT
Like "Better Days" a little bit earlier on the list, I enjoyed "That's What I Want" at first but once I got tired of it, I GOT TIRED of it. Eventually, it took its leave from my chart fairly quickly. It spent a good chunk of it's chart run in late 2021, but also had a good chunk of time on the Top 50 in early 2022, getting to #7 in January.
74. Rema & Selena Gomez CALM DOWN
Originally released in solo form, Nigerian singer/songwriter, Rema, found success - at least on my chart - in late 2022 with a version of "Calm Down" that had been reworked into a duet with Selena Gomez. Within the past couple weeks, it got to a peak of #3 and has just started falling down the chart.
73. Givēon FOR TONIGHT
This heartbreaking song about unrequited love sure does pull at the heartstrings AND, strangely enough, sounds seductive too. Those are two things that don't typically go together. After all, how often are you sad and turned on at the same time? Even though it didn't spend all of its time on my chart in 2022, it opened the year at #1 and lasted in the Top 50 into early spring.
72. Adele OH MY GOD
I'm just going to go ahead and voice this extremely unpopular opinion. I'm not crazy about Adele. Don't get me wrong. I don't dislike her music. I have liked several of her songs. I'm just not rabid about her like practically every other person on the planet seems to be. After her latest album's first single failed to even register on my personal chart's Next In Line list, "Oh My God" was a nice, uptempo change of pace that I got really into earlier in the year. It was on the Top 50 for a few weeks to round out 2021, but rose to a peak of #8 in late February.
71. Regard f/ Years & Years HALLUCINATION
Although "Hallucination" was an international hit, it didn't get much industry chart love in the U.S. Like a few of the other songs on this list, I came to know it becaue of its airplay for a few weeks on that music station I listen to regularly. Such a catchy tune that should've had more success in the U.S. In the spring and summer, it lasted on my chart for 19 weeks at got as high as #10.
Sometime later today, I'll post another few songs from my year-end list.

70. DJ Khaled f/ Drake & Lil' Baby STAYING ALIVE
Even though this song was only around for a few weeks before listeners moved on to the handful of other songs Drake released, particularly from his collaborative album with 21 Savage, it hung around on my chart for a longer shelf life. In fact, it's still working its way downward after peaking at #8 for two weeks back in October.
69. Charlie Puth LIGHT SWITCH
Anyone who follows music knows well how most artists are popular for only a certain amount of time before their spot is taken by someone newer. That seems to have happened to Charlie Puth. He had a string of successful songs in the late 2010s, but we've heard less and less from him over the past few years. "Light Switch" was a uptempo gem, though and stayed on my Top 50 for 19 weeks, getting to #7.
68. Alesso f/ Katy Perry WHEN I'M GONE
This song was somewhat of a surprise - at least for me it was - when it was released in early 2022. I'm not sure anyone was expecting new music so soon from Katy Perry, but "When I'm Gone" came out to coincide with the start of her Las Vegas residency. I was into it! It ended up peaking at #11 for two weeks and stayed in the Top 50 for 20 weeks.
67. Summer Walker & Sza NO LOVE
This cool duet with two rising R&B stars, Summer Walker & Sza, had my ear over the summer both as its original version AND in the form of a remix that included Cardi B. It enjoyed a 20-week run on the chart and held its peak of #11 for three weeks.
66. Queen Naija & Big Sean HATE OUR LOVE
Most Pop music fans probably had this one pass them by, but "Hate Our Love" was a pretty decent R&B and Hip-Hop hit. I ended up liking this one quite a bit. It spent three weeks at #13 before going no further and logged-in 21 weeks on my chart during spring and summer.

65. Lady Gaga HOLD MY HAND
Lady Gaga and Rihanna had something in common in 2022. Fans had eagerly been waiting a few years for more new music from each of them. And when each finally dropped a new song, most people collectively seemed to respond with a resounding "Meh!" Of course, those people are ridiculous and their opinions don't matter anyway. In the case of Lady Gaga, the 80s power ballad-reminiscent "Hold My Hand" got as high as #7 for me and was on my chart for 20 weeks.
64. Cheat Codes f/ Russell Dickerson I REMEMBER
The Dance/Country hybrid, "I Remember," caught my attention near the end of 2022. Although, let's be honest... It's more Country than Dance and it actually gives me strong Dan + Shay "Tequila" vibes, which is definiely a good thing! It's still on my Top 50 as of this posting, but is dropping from a peak earlier of #4.
63. Post Malone WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER
Although Post Malone had a lot of success on the charts in 2022, "Wrapped Around Your Finger" wasn't one of them. But, as has been the trend with several entries on my chart this year, it performed VERY well on my chart. It's still working its way downward as of this posting, but it peaked at #8, spending two weeks there, in early November.
62. The Weeknd SACRIFICE
This Swedish House Mafia-produced track by The Weeknd was a big favorite of mine in early 2022. During a 20-week stay in the Top 50, it peaked at #10 for three weeks.
61. Ellie Goulding f/ Big Sean EASY LOVER
It was good to have Ellie Goulding back in 2022 after not hearing new music from her for a little bit. It wasn't a huge U.S. chart hit, but it found success on my chart, peaking at #13 for two weeks and hanging around in the Top 50 for 21 weeks.
Coming up as more of my year-end list is revealed: a sentimental duet from Elton John's Lockdown Sessions collaboration album, one of EDM's most popular producers of the past 15 years unleashes a maliciously catchy earworm from 1999 on an unsuspecting populace, Mary J. Blige extols the virtues of loving oneself, and a big ol' side of cheesy gravy?

60. Imagine Dragons BONES
I got into this song in the summer and it lasted on my chart into late fall for 22 weeks during which it spent two weeks at its peak of #13.
59. David Guetta f/ Bebe Rexha I'M GOOD (BLUE)
For some of us, the release of "I'm Good (Blue)" was a nice bit of late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia since the song samples Eiffel 65's Eurodance hit "Blue (Da Ba Dee)." But for those who still wake up screaming in terror with the sound of the ultracatchy earworm ringing in their ears from 23 years ago, "I'm Good (Blue)" was a terrible reminder. Either way, it's did well on my chart. It just started falling downward a few weeks ago after spending an amazing FIVE weeks at #2, held out of the #1 spot by a combination of "Super Freaky Girl" by Nicki Minaj and the song that holds the #58 spot on the year-end list.
58. Sam Smith & Kim Petras UNHOLY
Like "I'm Good (Blue)" before it, "Unholy" is still working its way down my chart following a four-week stint in the #1 spot. Let me say this. I'm all about fidelity and staying true to a relationship. If you feel like you need to be involved in extra-curricular activities that haven't been sanctioned by your spouse or romantic partner, you should just end your marriage or other romantic relationship. Having said that, I really appreciate the Smith & Petras entry in the pantheon of great songs about cheating. I also appreciate Smith's turn toward Pop music in recent years and I love that Smith is trying new things musically, even rapping on "Unholy." But I have to say, I miss Soul crooner Sam Smith. Hopefully we'll get one of those classic Smith Soul songs - even if it's just a one-off release - sometime within the next few years.
57. Kendrick Lamar f/ Blxst & Amanda Reifer DIE HARD
An unfortunate byproduct of its title and a spate of violence, "Die Hard" is actually a pretty catchy number and should've been a bigger hit. It probably also should've been titled something different. It's still on my Top 50, but peaked at #9 back in October.
56. Craig David & MNEK WHO YOU ARE
"Who You Are" had already been on my chart for a few weeks when 2022 began. This thoughtful and uplifting tune about both being comfortable enough in your own skin to be who you are AND hoping for ways to bridge some of the gulfs that divide so many of us didn't catch on in the U.S., but when I heard it (on that same music station I listen to), it grabbed me right away. It peaked at #6 in March.

55. John Legend f/ Saweetie ALL SHE WANNA DO
I really enjoyed this funky, uptempo number by John Legend that was woefully overlooked on the charts in the U.S. It's still on its way off my chart as of this posting, but it did peak at #4 back in October.
54. Calvin Harris f/ Dua Lipa & Young Thug POTION
This is another uptempo and funky number that hooked me earlier in the year. It also initially showed some promise for U.S. chart success - perhaps because of its inclusion of Dua Lipa - but quickly faded from the charts. Luckily, it didn't fade from my chart so fast. It lingered for a 21-week stay spent two weeks at #5.
53. Post Malone f/ Roddy Ricch COOPED UP
Among his other hits from 2022, "Cooped Up" ended up getting lost in the shuffle even though it was the first single from his latest album. I ended up taking it to a height of #8 where it spent two of its 22 weeks on my Top 50.
52. Elton John & Stevie Wonder FINISH LINE
I ended up discovering this absolute masterpiece from Elton John's 2021 collaborations album, The Lockdown Sessions, accidentally while researching another song from the album. When I saw that Elton John and Stevie Wonder had recorded a song together, I was intrigued and decided to check it out. Boy am I glad I did! One of THE best and most underrated songs of the year. It spent several weeks on my chart at the end of 2021, but was at its peak of #4 for two non-consecutive weeks in January 2022.
51. Halsey SO GOOD
Halsey was back earlier in 2022 with new music. This slow, gradually shifting to uptempo number got to #6 for me and was on my chart for 22 weeks.

50. Sia UNSTOPPABLE (R3HAB REMIX)
Although it was originally released internationally a few years ago as a single from Sia's 2016 album, This Is Acting, it's found continued success in the years since as a released single every few years in a handful of countries. In 2022, it was the U.S.'s turn to see its release. While I like the original version, the remix by production collective, R3HAB, is the one that my music station played and I grew to like more. It's still on my chart as of this posting, but spent two weeks at its peak of #3 in early November.
49. Gayle ABCDEFU
Like a few others on this list, I initially liked "ABCDEFU" but ended up growing tired of it and quickly taking it down my chart. Before that happened, it peaked at #5 for two weeks in early March after debuting on my chart in December 2021.
48. Swedish House Mafia f/ The Weeknd MOTH TO A FLAME
This song also started its stint on my personal chart in 2021 and ended up only being a moderate chart hit in the U.S...if that. But I liked "Moth To A Flame" a whole lot, taking it all the way to the top of my chart for two weeks in January.
47. Yung Gravy BETTY (GET MONEY)
This goofy but too fun and too catchy to deny tune blatantly trades on the nostalgia of late 80s rickroll classic, "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley, but I love a goofy song every now and then. It hasn't fallen off of my chart yet, but did spend two weeks at its peak of #5 in October.
46. Ella Mai DFMU
After making a name for herself in the late 2010s with her well-received debut album, I was excited for new music from British R&B singer/songwriter, Ella Mai. "DFMU" didn't disappoint. It ended up staying on my chart for 22 weeks and held its peak of #8 for two weeks.

45. Chris Brown IFFY
"Iffy" performed well on my chart in early 2022, notching 22 weeks and a peak of #5, where it spent two weeks.
44. Ckay LOVE NWANTITI (AH AH AH)
Nigerian singer/songwriter, CKay, rode the wave of Afrobeats popularity to a peak of #3 om February after his debut in late 2021 on my chart with the super-catchy "Love Nwantiti."
43. Ciara f/ Coast Contra JUMP
In recent years, Ciara's been more focused on her family with NFL star, Russell Wilson, but it was nice to have her return to music in 2022 with "Jump," which was reminiscent of the uptempo fare from earlier on in her career. It's still on my chart (though near the end of its run), and was at its peak position of #9 for two weeks.
42. Saweetie f/ H.E.R. CLOSER
With the proliferation of the more downtempo Trap style of Rap and R&B over the past few years, it's nice to have a few artists like Saweetie releasing uptempo and bouncier music as a counterpoint. This collaboration with singer/songwriter, H.E.R., was a favorite from late winter into early summer that translated into a 21-week stay in my Top 50 including three weeks at its peak of #3.
41. Mary J. Blige GOOD MORNING GORGEOUS
Those who have been fans of Mary J. Blige for her 30+ year in the music industry know it's been a long and winding road on her journey. Given where she was especially in the 90s, it's pretty amazing to see that she's at a point where she can make a song about self-love (not THAT kind of self love. Get your mind out of the gutter. Thank you!) and self-acceptance like "Good Morning Gorgeous." I really liked the message and it resonated with me. It ended up getting as high as #5 for two weeks during its 24 weeks on my chart.
Tomorrow, more of my year end chart is on the way!

40. Burna Boy LAST LAST
Another catchy and cool Afrobeats song, "Last Last" by Burna Boy is still on my chart, but got up to #6 where it spent three weeks in October.
39. Joji GLIMPSE OF US
Sounding different from much of the other music on the mainstream charts, this unusual song from Japanese singer/songwriter, Joji, slowly grew on me and became a favorite late this year. It ended up on the Top 50 for 24 weeks and got up to #5.
38. Muni Long f/ Saweetie BABY BOO
I really loved this uptempo jam that reminded me of the type of R&B/Hip-Hop hybrid that might've gotten released in the mid or late 90s. It spent two weeks at its peak of #4 and 24 weeks overall on my chart.
37. Charlie Wilson, Babyface, K-Ci Hailey, & Johnny Gill NO STOPPIN' US
Speaking of reminiscent of 90s R&B, this cool collaboration built around a sample of McFadden & Whitehead's 70s Funk jam, "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now," featured a teamup of a who's who of 80s and 90s R&B stars. The nostalgic vibe brought it to a peak of #6 during its 26 week run.
36. Yung Bleu & Kehlani BEAUTIFUL LIES
Another cool collaboration, this duet between up-and-coming singer/rapper, Yung Bleu, and singer/songwriter, Kehlani, was an underrated gem at the beginning of the year. It was on the chart for a couple weeks in 2021, but spent the bulk of its time on the Top 50 in 2022, where it peaked at #4 in March.

35. Jnr Choi TO THE MOON
It's another Afrobeats entry on the year end list. This was an earworm for me in the truest sense of the word. Multiple times over this song's 23-week stay on my chart, I found myself randomly blurting out it's repetitive hook during the day because it had burrowed itself into my brain. So, be warned before you click on the video above! Meanwhile, it logged-in a three-week stay at its peak position of #7.
34. The Black Eyed Peas f/ Shakira DON'T YOU WORRY
It's been great to have The Black Eyed Peas back on the mainstream charts over the past couple years. This collaboration with Shakira did really well on my chart in the summer and fall this year, lasting on the chart for 24 weeks and peaking at #4.
33. Marshmello f/ Khalid NUMB
Khalid has been one of my favorite artists over the past five or six years and "Numb" is another of his songs that I found myself liking a lot this year even though it wasn't a big hit on the industry charts. It spent 24 weeks on my chart...two of which were at is peak of #3.
32. Post Malone & The Weeknd ONE RIGHT NOW
A collaboration between two of my favorite artists of the past few years? Yes, please. I was all about this one! It was on my Top 50 for a few weeks in late 2021, but landed in its peak position of #2 for four weeks in February and early March.
31. Tyga & Doja Cat FREAKY DEAKY
Although he hasn't had a really big hit in several years, Tyga is someone who has been steadily releasing music and had a few moderate hits along the way. "Freaky Deaky" counts as one of those...its inclusion of the popular Doja Cat certainly helped it do as well on the charts as it did. I liked it regardless of who performed it. It peaked at #3 during its 25 weeks on my chart over the summer.
I'll post more songs on the list later today!
