The way I see it, most normal rock is basically pop music with emphasis on guitars. So, while I like melodic stuff, sometimes I want something a bit edgier. Usually Chevelle does the trick, they are AWESOME! Also Leprous! I try to play The Killers for example, and sure it's good, but it's too poppy. Plus, they have added countless sucky songs into their albums for a while now lol
So, this is not supposed to be an exhaustive list of your favorites, just an ask to see if I can get on board with acts I might have seen mentioned, but never really tried. I would ask only for current acts, cause older artists tend to be more calm jejejeje. I want energy and to headbang! XD I mean, I don't mind melodic stuff, but take BABYMETAL for example, they're cute, melodic and hard, so yeah, fire!

Melodic headbanging! That’s quite a wide range!
I imagine you know lastfm? If you enter an artist it will give you most similar artists.
So, for Chevelle, it’s (10 Years, Staind, Seether etc.)
For Leprous which is more progressive (Haken, Caligula’s horse, Soen etc.)
For Babymetal, it’s the copycats (Ladybaby etc.) because they are pretty unique in their genre, no other trance metal band sounds quite like that.

Ari!! We need to familiarize you with the M4BCC genre! A lot of our personal favourites fit this bill and I highly recommend following Unkie's charts for getting into it. On the metal side, I think you'd like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's heavier offerings, Poppy's newer stuff, and the latest single from The Horrors which is a lot heavier than their previous material. Here are videos for all those:

lol The M4BCC genre XD
Thanks guys for the suggestions! I suppose Chevelle are unique to me, cause the other bands ziggy2 mentioned, are not my cup of tea. However, I will check the ones in the Leprous category, as I haven't heard of them, so I hope they are amazing ♥ And lol Ladybaby is the name of a group? jajajajajjaa
Thanks Pipa, The Horrors's song was pretty cool, will have to investigate further. However, the Poppy song... that voice lol I usually like contrasting things, but the female voice is kinda way too contrasting with the music. I won't investigate further that group lol And ahhh, always nice to see shirtless guys in the King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizards' video. The song was cool, but it kinda sounded from 30 years ago or so XD

Here are some newer bands that have been very big over the last few years not just for me but also on M4B Radio. Teenage Wrist: Basement: Beabadoobee: Citizen: Boston Manor: Milk Teeth had a bit of a hit streak, but then out of nowhere they broke up last year: If you wanna hear some pop artists rock out check out this one from Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars: And this one from Rina Sawayama: This is from 2002 but I'm recommending it anyway because I am currently obsessed with all things Jerry Cantrell and this is a f*cking banger : Oh f*ck it, let's break the rules again:

Nobody is allowed to like him let alone HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM. I’ve hated him since 1996 and no matter how many pictures of him i see I will NEVER like him.

I'm not a huge rock/alternative listener these days, but there are some bands that catch my attention every now and again. I've been really enjoying Jorn, Blind Channel, and Lovegod lately.

Jess, you might not know it, or maybe yes, but I get very easily overwhelmed and get anxiety... I don't know if you noticed my absence for a few days. I saw your recommendations list and thought "I'll get to these soon" but since I didn't do so soon, I started feeling guilty so I left :/ I will reply to your list little by little. Hope you don't mind!
Teenage Wrist, I had actually heard about them, but never thought about giving them a try. I assumed it would be silly and immature lol I actually liked the song! I suppose I will investigate them further a little bit.
Basement was good, but I didn't feel the pressing need to listen to more. I will however, and if I don't report back soon on it, feel free to tag me and force me to do it lol
beabadoobee... no. Just no.
The Rina Sawayama song is FIRE!!! LOVE it! I heard it on some Pulse game, then Drag linked me to your Book Clue episode featuring her, and I loved almost every song! I am looking forward to see what she comes out with in the future ♥
I'll listen to the rest soon, I prmoise!!

Hope you don't mind! Ari, as someone who also struggles with anxiety I totally understand, but you don't have to feel guilty about not getting around to checking out those songs right away. I'm not upset or offended at all, we all have busy lives and I knew you'd eventually check them out. I mean, I'm also guilty of not getting around to checking out song recommendations right away - this is why I always make Pipa and Julian e-mail them to me. But yeah don't sweat it and if you ever need anyone to talk to I'm just a PM away!
