How early is too early for Christmas/Holiday music? It seems Hot AC and AC stations begin playing it earlier and earlier each year. Before we know it, we'll be having Christmas in July. This year, some radio stations near me were playing Christmas music before Halloween! I know it's a ratings boost for many stations, but it seems a bit ridiculous to me. Personally, I would much rather have a radio station's regular playlist and possibly an occasional Christmas tune sprinkled in here and there.

I'm the same way - keep the regular playlist with the occasional Christmas song sprinkled in starting mid-to-late November, and increase the quantity through December and only go all-Christmas for the 24th and 25th.

Honestly I look forward to November 1st every year because that’s generally with the Christmas music radio play commences. Whether it’s too early is a personal preference. I know people who find it only appropriate to play after Remembrance Day, others after American Thanksgiving and some only in December. Whatever makes you happy at the end of the day is what I say!

Anyone who like Christmas music all year, all day, year round need only to tune into one of several streaming platforms such as iHeartRadio and Accuradio. In our Honolulu market, the iHeartRadio FM station (KSSK FM) started streaming their all Christmas format about a week before Thanksgiving and just completed it yesterday after airing 3 days of commercial free holiday music Dec. 25 to Dec. 27.
I prefer a mix of current, catalogue and Christmas music altogether... not only holiday music all the time.
