We're now up to 8 weeks at #1 for "Don't Call Again". Who you gonna call to stop it? Possibly Sycco, as "Dribble" moves from #4 to #2 this week, swapping places with Haim while "Contemplation" sits contemplatively at #3. In absurd news, Maddy Jane is still climbing the chart and now in her 19th week, reaches #5 with "Femme", which is roughly half as long as most songs take to peak on the real charts nowadays.
NEW ENTRIES
There's an eclectic bunch this week, but we're starting things off with perhaps the most consistent hitmaker of the bunch in recent times. Jaguar Jonze continues to go from strength to strength and lands at #22 with latest single "Deadalive", which is her 5th entry to date.
Speaking of artists with 5 chart entries, for clipping. it has been diminishing returns each time, until now. They were in the chart a year ago with "Nothing Is Safe" and have already moved on from that album with no shortage of candlesticks in the dark and visions of bodies being burned, on a wall of reflections. Naturally it's "Say The Name" which is coming in at #29 this week.
A song that has no business following that in any context I'm fairly certain, we greet a newcomer to the chart in Biig Piig, who gets away with the genius idea to sample Montell Jordan on "Don't Turn Around" at #33.
If you recall, a few weeks ago "Lie To Me" debuted on the chart. This week "Lie To Me" debuts on the chart only this time it's a Vera Blue song. Though she made a big splash in 2016 with "Settle", she's actually only charted twice before this, the other being on "Fracture" with Slumberjack. So this, her third entry, lands at #35.
