Beyonce's new Lion King album is not only awful music - it is also one of the biggest flops in music history. I am from Houston and want our local girl to do well - but when she puts out complete trash I am glad the world doesn't support her. Make her create good music or cancel her from your playlist. Here's a link to the embarrassing first week sales numbers, particularly embarrassing as the marketing for the album cost $25 million. That means it cost slightly more than $25,000/album sold: www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/9577633/beyonce-lion-king-album-flops/

LOL at the thread name. I haven't cared for a Beyonce' album since 4 which was already nine years ago. There were a few songs on self-titled that were alright and I didn't mind some of the ballads on Lemonade, but since she started surprise releasing her albums (something that I'm sick of with her, the first time it was genius and every time after that it became annoying), I feel like she has become extremely pretentious with her music and I also hate how she talks/raps and does all the trap music stuff. It's disappointing because I was a really big fan of hers when I was younger when she was in Destiny's Child and when she first started her solo career. I hope this opens her eyes and hopefully the next album will have less of that crap on there. I actually really liked her cover of Maze & Frankie Beverly's "Before I Let Go" from her Homecoming album and would love it if she did an album of songs like that with that classic R&B/funk sound. I think that would suit her really well.
Also I don't understand how you can be a feminist and then sing about going back to "Becky with the good hair", but that's a topic for another day.

Until she starts singing again I'm done with her.

Well... ask and you shall receive Beyonce' claims to be a feminist, but I feel like she doesn't act upon it at all. If she was really a feminist, where was she when... - They had the Women's March in Washington DC - Kesha spoke up about Dr. Luke assaulting her and Taylor Swift donated money to her - the only celebrity who spoke up to do so - All the women who spoke up about Billy Cosby - All the women who spoke up during #MeToo Has she EVER spoken up about these issues or donated to help these women or anything like that? If she has, feel free to correct me, but as far as I know she has not done a damn thing. It's all about image with her. And the thing that pisses me off is nobody calls her out on her hypocrisy, meanwhile Taylor Swift gets criticized for her every move and she has done a HELL of a lot more for women than Beyondshit has. Another reason why I think she's a fake feminist is because - as I said in my original post - that "Becky with the good hair" line in "Sorry" is extremely problematic. The entire Lemonade album was about Jay-Z cheating on her, meanwhile she's still with him and fully blames the woman, who is referred to as Becky in that song. A lot of women blame the other woman and give the guy a free pass, which to me is a bunch of crap. It takes two to tango, if you're going to trash her trash your overrated husband who hasn't had a good song in over a decade too. I also HATE that white girls are called "Becky", I find it degrading and straight up obnoxious. Maybe I'm a hypocrite though because I find "Karen" hilarious, but meh. Beyonce' the "feminist" could be doing a lot more with her platform, but instead of actually making a difference in the world like she sings about, it's all for f*cking show and she doesn't do shit except for surprise release a bunch of pretentious ass garbage and act like she's God's gift to the world. "Bow down bitches"? Nah, I'm good thanks

Right! When a woman finds out her man is cheating on her, it's HIS fault. The other woman doesn't owe you fidelity, but your man does, so he is betraying you. I hate when women in this situation blame the other woman and like you said, give a free pass to the man argh!
