Eric Church always has interesting lead singles. Typically, he tries to make a statement with the lead singles off his albums, rather than releasing a song that's likely to be a big hit - and this song is no different. "Stick That In Your Country Song" is more-or-less an indictment of country music. Church is saying to other artists: "you're not singing about real life", "we've got teachers that are underpaid", and "people are dreaming but their windows are boarded up and now they're getting involved in drugs" - And, why don't you all put that in a country song and "take that to #1".
Overall, I give this song a solid play. The vocals are excellent. I also like and agree with the message of the song. In recent years, too many country artists play it safe with vanilla, feel good, tailgate party kind-of music. And, making more music about real life and hardships, as country music has traditionally be known for, would make country much more interesting.

BIG play! This doesn't stand a chance at hitting the top 10 but I do LOVE it! Can't wait for the new album!
