210. Pat Benatar – “Fire And Ice” (1981)This was an early favorite of mine when I first started getting into Pat, and Precious Time is my favorite album of hers, with this one being a highlight (although I will say that the follow-up to this, "Promises In The Dark" is much, MUCH higher). Excellent song! 209. Fleetwood Mac – “Sisters Of The Moon” (1980)Those who listened to the 1980 Yearbook from September 2016 will know that this is a fairly recent discovery for me. When I was going through songs from 1980 for that episode of The Book Club, I expected to like this since Fleetwood Mac were already a big favorite of mine and they always had a very good track record with me. What I didn't expect, however, was to be as blown away by this as I was and for this to not only become my second favorite song of theirs, but for Stevie Nicks to FINALLY get promoted to JessieLou queen status. This was especially unexpected because while I do like the other three singles from this album - "Sara", "Tusk", and "Think About Me", none of them are in like my top 5 from them or anything. Needless to say though, I bought Tusk IMMEDIATELY after I heard this. This song has a very haunting sound to it and the way I've described it since I Book Club'd it was that it's a heavier version of "Dreams". Stevie sounds amazing on this, and dude, that guitar solo at the end tho. What a criminally underrated song. 208. Harry Chapin – “Sniper” (1972)And here's the song that helped The Book Club become as much of a success as it has been since it's debut almost two years ago! Harry Chapin was the artist I spotlighted during the second episode, and I didn't really know what to expect, especially after being underwhelmed by the artist I spotlighted during the show's pilot episode, Nicolette Larson. I loved "Taxi" and "Cat's In The Cradle", and the fact that he's a legend in my hometown of Long Island just intrigued me even more. The idea of The Book Club was based on a Notepad file that I had at the time titled "Artists I want to listen to more", and the first artist that I wrote down was Harry Chapin, so I knew right away he had to be episode #2. He would've been the first episode, but I thought of everyone I had on my list at the time that Nicolette had the best chance of becoming my next core artist, it's funny how things turn out. So it is an early Monday morning, I had my playlist of all the songs I was going to listen to for his episode, and immediately I am intimidated by this one when I see it's 9:55 length, afraid that it's going to be a really boring song that drags on. Boy was I wrong. It was the first song that played and I was in shock. It was so unique, I never heard anything that sounded like it. It's actually a really heavy and kick ass song, which I sure didn't expect from the same guy who gave us "Cat's In The Cradle". It's very dark and haunting, and the lyrics are based on a real-life college shooting that occurred in the 60's. Everything about this song from the constant key changes to the vocals to the music are just brilliant. My favorite song of his for sure and THE essential Book Club song. 207. Jefferson Starship – “No Way Out” (1984)I loved this song ever since I first discovered it around 2006/2007. I guess that was a sign of what was to come. One of their best 80's songs! 206. Lifehouse – “Hanging By A Moment” (2001)One of the first rock songs I ever loved. They were such a good band back then. Too bad they turned into basic boys. 205. Mariah Carey feat. Jay-Z – “Heartbreaker” (1999)I love both the original and the remix (although I prefer the original). This was always a huge favorite of mine and the video is one of my favorites ever. 204. Lita Ford – “Back To The Cave” (1988)I actually think I love this one more now than I did back when I first started getting into Lita in 2007. One of her best! 203. Pat Benatar – “Shadows Of The Night” (1982)One of the first Pat songs I ever loved. I liked it when I first heard it back in the 90's, but of course it has since become a major favorite of mine. Get Nervous was such a good album too! 202. Madonna – “Deeper And Deeper” (1992)To the surprise of no one, I was obsessed with this during the height of my Madonna obsession in the early 2000's, and to this day it is still one of my favorites from her. It always reminded me a lot of "Vogue". 201. TLC – “No Scrubs” (1999)It's crazy that this song is almost 20 years old because I remember when this was EVERYWHERE. I loved this song instantly and although there are two other songs from them that I prefer (one of them being in the next set), this is still excellent and one of my many favorites of the late 90's. 200. #1 hit from 1995. 199. Surprisingly, the ONLY appearance on this list from this boy band whose most famous member was recently called an "old man" by DJ Jessizzle. 198. #1 hit from 1999. 197. #1 hit from 2000. 196. One of the newest songs on this list, this reached #1 on my chart in spring 2003 a few months before my chart debuted on the internet. 195. SAVAGE ANIMAL!!!11 194. A #1 hit from 1984 that was originally done by Mariah Carey. 193. A 90's song that's featured in one of the M4B Radio IDs, and much to the dismay of FreakyFlyBry , Courage , Bebe Reptar , and @wife , it's NOT "The Child (Inside)". 192. This is what happens when Eric Clapton collaborates with a cowboy. 191. This shares a title with a song by Kesha.

I love every song there, honestly. Can't argue with any of the queens, "Sniper" is the reason why the Book Club became as legendary as it has and No Scrubs, Deeper and Deeper and Heartbreaker are all 90's classics.
194. Phil Collins - Against All Odds? 192. Phil Collins - I Wish It Would Rain Down?

200. TLC – “Waterfalls” (1995)This was the first song from them I ever heard when I was five years old and loved it. To be honest, this would probably be higher if it wasn’t for radio overplay over the years, but still an excellent song regardless. 199. 'NSYNC – “Tearing Up My Heart” (1998)The first song I ever heard from them and I loved it right away. My favorite from them. 198. Monica – “Angel Of Mine” (1998)One of my favorite R&B songs ever. LOVED this one when it was out and still love it today. 197. Matchbox 20 – “Bent” (2000)I still remember when the video for this premiered on TRL. This was the first song of theirs I really loved (I wasn't crazy about their debut era at the time but obviously I like those songs now). Still my favorite from them to this day. 196. Evanescence – “Bring Me To Life” (2003)It's funny, I was actually talking about Evanescence with one of my bosses yesterday. This song was out during a time where I VERY rarely touched rock music, and I loved this. Amy Lee's voice is phenomenal. This is still such an excellent song (as is the entire album), and I'm so glad this was the huge hit it deserved to be. 195. Skid Row – “18 And Life” (1989)When I first started getting into heavy metal a decade ago, this was an instant favorite of mine. Although there are two other songs of theirs I've heard since that I prefer and are still to come, I still absolutely love this one. 194. Phil Collins – “Against All Odds” (1984)Come on man, this is a classic. One of the best songs of 1984 and nobody can sing this song like he did. 193. Pearl Jam – “Even Flow” (1992)A 90's rock classic. Love it! 192. Phil Collins – “I Wish It Would Rain Down” (1990)Although this was a big hit for Phil, I always found this to be underrated since it doesn't seem as talked about as some of his other hits. But it's one of my favorites from him. Love Eric Clapton on this one as well. 191. Black Sabbath – “Die Young” (1980)Another of the many excellent songs on the iconic Heaven And Hell album. One of their best! I like the hints that Cody does that reveal the year and artist and you have to guess the song. So guess what? I'M COPYING HIM! 1985 (1) 1994 (2) 1995 (1) 1999 (2) 2000 (1) 2010 (1) 2012 (2) 190. Weezer 189. Vertical Horizon 188. Garbage 187. Rush 186. Rush 185. Backstreet Boys 184. Garbage 183. Heart 182. Lita Ford 181. Hear 'N' Aid

You heard 'Tearing Up My Heart' before 'Bye Bye Bye'? I love that Mariah fought herself in the 'Heartbreaker' video. Great songs!

You heard 'Tearing Up My Heart' before 'Bye Bye Bye'? "Tearing Up My Heart" was released here about 15 months before "Bye Bye Bye" (October 1998 compared with January 2000).

190. Weezer – “Say It Ain’t So” (1994)Excellent song, they were so good in the 90s! What happened? 189. Vertical Horizon – “You’re A God” (2000)Always loved this one, and even despite heavy overplay at work I’m still not sick of it. Underrated song. 188. Garbage – “Special” (1999)This was the first song from them I ever heard. I liked it back in 1999 but I grew to love it when I started getting into Garbage in 2005. Great song, but still, they have a few others I prefer. And FreakyFlyBry , “Blood For Poppies” JUST missed the list. 187. Rush – “Headlong Flight” (2012)I remember when this came out. Can you believe it’s already been six years?! Where the hell has the time gone?? This was very instant for me. It debuted at #1 on my chart and probably would’ve spent longer there if it wasn’t for the song at #182. VERY heavy song that reminds me a lot of their 1975 song “Bastille Day”. Funny how I prefer the newer song. Goes to show that age is no excuse to put out mediocrity. 186. Rush – “Caravan” (2010)Hey look! More Rush! I heard this for the first time when Eddie Trunk premiered it on his radio show, and I loved it instantly. It was my #1 song of 2010. Clockwork Angels from start to finish is an excellent album and I’d even go as far to say one of their best albums ever. I loved hearing this song live too! 185. Backstreet Boys – “Larger Than Life” (1999)Um, come on. This was the BOPPPP back in the day! One of their best. Brings back so many memories. Loved the video too! 184. Garbage – “Only Happy When It Rains” (1995)ICONIC. This song is everything 12 year old me was all over! So of course I was obsessed with this. Love this one. 183. Heart – “Will You Be There (In The Morning)” (1993)Such an underrated song. Hell, such an underrated ALBUM. This. Black On Black II. Desire Walks On. Rage. So many great songs!! Love Nancy’s vocals on this one. 182. Lita Ford – “Living Like A Runaway” (2012)This is probably the most iconic song of this decade for me personally. It was such a huge comeback and return to form from her. This was a HUGE #1 on my chart and was my #1 of 2012. And like “Caravan”, I loved having the chance of hearing this live! I will say though - this was actually not my favorite song on the album. My favorite is still to come! 181. Hear N’ Aid – “We’re Stars” (1985)For those who don’t know what Hear N’ Aid is, this was basically the heavy metal version of “We Are The World”. This song was recorded to raise money for famine relief in Africa, and was organized by Ronnie James Dio, who was one of the many vocalists on this song. The song also features Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Don Dokken (Dokken), Kevin DuBrow (Quiet Riot), Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult), Geoff Tate (Queensryche), and many others. The way I discovered this song was pretty similar to how I discovered many hard rock and heavy metal songs during this time. I first heard this ten years ago when I caught the tail end of it on VH1 Classic. I recognized Dio in the video so when I went back on my computer I looked up “Hear N’ Aid” as I was very curious. I absolutely LOVED it. The vocals, the guitar solos, the fact that it was a Dio project and everything he did was heavy metal gold. I love the video too because every time I watch it I point out all the rock stars that I recognize (that and I thought Don Dokken looked hot in it, what a surprise there ). 1969 (1) 1974 (1) 1978 (1) 1982 (1) 1986 (1) 1991 (2) 1995 (1) 1997 (1) 1998 (1) 180. R.E.M. 179. Rush 178. Jefferson Airplane 177. Jefferson Starship 176. Iron Maiden 175. Ozzy Osbourne 174. Tori Amos 173. Skid Row 172. Third Eye Blind 171. Smashing Pumpkins
