As per member feedback, the New Singles and Play or Trash forums are merging into one, primarily to avoid rendundancy.
Topics are for any new/current single, with a poll attached, much like the old Play or Trash forum, but everything is open to more discussion. The genre tags in the topic titles, as in the old Play or Trash forum, will remain if you decide to include them. You do not need to spell out the genre, just place a short "genre tag" at the end of your subject title to identify the song. For example, to identify a "pop" song, place a "(P)" at the end of your subject title; to identify a "rock" song, place a "(R)" at the end of your subject title; to identify a "hip-hop" song, place a "(H)" at the end of your subject title; etc...
Here's the complete list of "genre tags" that you may use at the end of your title to identify the genre of the song you are posting:
(A) - Adult Contemporary
(B) - R&B/Soul
(C) - Country
(D) - Dance/Trance/House/Euro
(H) - Hip-Hop/Rap
(L) - Latin/Reggae/Reggaeton/Soca
(P) - Pop
(R) - Rock/Alternative/Indie
Doing this will help members, who prefer a particular genre of music, to more easily find the music they like.
If you can't decide between two genres, include them both. For example, if a song is "Pop Rock" include "(PR)" at the end of the title; if a song is both Country and Pop, include "(CP)" at the end of your title, etc...
Here are some examples of the artist, song title, and genre together in the subject title:
Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair (P)
Pink - Who Knew (P)
M1 - Electronic Funk (D)
LeAnn Rimes - And It Feels Like (CP)
Flaming Lips - The W.A.N.D. (R)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Tell Me Baby (R)
Don Omar - Angelito (L)
The Editors - Blood (R)
Clea - Lucky Like That (PD)
If an artist is "well-known", you do not need to post the genre of the song. If you have any questions, please post them here...
