The Bleachers are not really a "band" in a typical sense. Jack Antonoff of fun. is the only member. This began as his "side project" but his 2014 debut album under The Bleachers moniker titled "Strange Desire" did so well in both reviews, charts, singles, and sales that he had to do something more with the pet project. The album "Terrible Thrills" is that something extra. And I am so impressed I thought we needed a thread on this album.
"Terrible Thrills" is a remix album of "Strange Desires." The songs are the same with two alterations: Jack has improved the production quality and each song is sung by one of his famous friends in lieu of Jack himself. For example, Sara Bareilles, Charli Xcx, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tinashe, Elle King, Sia, and Natalie Maines (of Dixie Chicks fame) are some of the singers featured on each song.
Maybe this is for you, maybe it isn't. I'll try not to judge. But this is one of the best albums I have ever heard: Production is 10/10, Lyrics are 10/10, Music is actual instruments but with the addition of 1980s-era savvy - 10/10, and the voices are 10/10. He has somehow managed to build an album that flows extremely well even though each song has a different lead singer. That is a tough thing to do. This day and age the beauty of an album has gone away in the name of singles. To build an album in this manner, at this level, this day and age is a true accomplishment. At least give it a listen!

This album, Terrible Thrills Vol 2, came out last fall. It was a free album on Google play.
Unless he has another version coming out. But the singers you listed were the lead vocals on this album.

Thank you for letting us know it was released in Fall 2015. I didn't know it was released via Google Play. You're on top of things! What did you think of the album though?

"Strange Desires" was one of my top albums of 2014. To hear the new takes of his songs were OK. There were some stand out (Sia is great as always) while other tracks were just OK.
I won't lie, when I saw this, I thought it was a new album till I listened to it. I think if you are a fan of the guest singers, you'll like it more.
While Strange Desires is a solid A, Terrible Thrills Vol 2 is a B-.
