I'm pretty sure at least someone else here is at least casually watching the NFL playoffs. To wrap up wild card weekend, we had Panthers > Cardinals, Ravens > Steelers, Colts > Bengals and Cowboys > Lions. The last game was the only one that felt close, and of course the controversial picking up of the penalty flag went a long way to the Dallas victory.
Looking ahead to the Divisional round of the playoffs, 3 of the 4 matches are awesome. You've got Patriots/Ravens for the 4th time in 5 years, Packers/Cowboys in a battle of two storied franchises and of course the big one with Peyton Manning facing the Colts who he spent 14 seasons playing for. The only dud IMO is Seahawks/Panthers, which just so happens to be the primetime game on Saturday night. I expect Seattle to absolutely annihilate Newton and the Panthers, but we'll see.
Anyone got any bold predictions or things they want to see happen?

Well I support the Ravens so I would love to see them knock off the Pats. It was awesome to see them beat the Steelers, especially as that was the only match I was able to watch over the weekend. Aside from the Seahawks who should win easily, I think any of the other matches could go either way. I'm not actually expecting any upsets though.

I watched all 4 games. I'm already kinda screwed in my work pool ($1000 payout) because I had Pittsburgh getting to the AFC championship and losing to New England. But oh well...
The Panthers are scarier than their record suggests, they got healthy and just took off. They were 3-8-1, then overcame injuries and annihilated everyone up to 7-8-1 and their first round win. They've actually been tearing teams inside out. Seattle has a really tough game ahead of them.

But if you look at who they've beaten, is it really that impressive? They squeaked by Tampa Bay (worst team in football), squeaked by Cleveland (mediocre team) and then blew out the Falcons (mediocre team). Then they beat a depleted Arizona team playing a third (or is it fourth?) string quarterback and a crowd of no-name running backs.
I underdstand the logic that the Panthers have a lot of momentum, but I think they're about to hit a brick wall. Maybe I'm wrong though. Just out of curiously, who did you have in the NFC title game?

Blew out the Saints and Falcons, and beat two otherwise good teams who were missing their QBs (Cleveland and Arizona. Remember Cleveland was 7-4 at one point before the whole Manziel fiasco and sh1t hit the fan). The only questionable performance was Tampa. But regardless, they've now won 5 straight, which is impressive no matter which way you look at it. I still think Seattle wins, but even my buddy who is a diehard Seahawks fan and an NFL guru says that he's really worried about this healthy Carolina team. It's gonna be tight, but I'm thinking something along the lines of 27-23 Seattle. All 4 games next week are unpredictable and will all be intense.

It's funny Cody, my friend and I had about the same conversation in real life today. He says that the Panthers defense is going to give the Seahawks problems and that Newton is going to play up to the competition. I'm just not seeing it, lol. Next time I get on a computer, I'll post my predictions for all the games. And you're right about Cleveland; they were pretty promising until everything fell apart. Do you think Manziel is a guy you want going forward?

In response to the question in your last post, my pool bracket looked like this: WildcardAFC3 Pittsburgh6 Baltimore4 Indy5 CinciNFC3 Dallas6 Detroit4 Carolina5 ArizonaDivisionalAFC1 New England4 Indy2 Denver3 PittsburghNFC1 Seattle4 Carolina2 Green Bay3 DallasConferenceAFC1 New England3 PittsburghNFC1 Seattle2 Green BaySuper Bowl1 New England1 SeattleBut obviously Pittsburgh/Baltimore has that whole thing f'ed right up. Still thinking Seattle/Green Bay in the NFC title game, although Dallas' 8-0 road record is a huge cause for concern. As for Manziel, no, I think he's been overrated since day 1. I think he'll be a huge bust. I'm a Jacksonville fan lol, and honestly I think it's really sad that Blake Bortles probably will end up being the only decent QB from that draft. Kid actually looks pretty good.

Had Le'Veon Bell been playing against the Ravens, who knows if things would be different or not. Regardless, Baltimore is a team that's always dangerous when they make it in. I see a lot in Blake Bortles, but don't sleep on Derek Carr and Teddy Bridgewater. I agree that Manziel is overrated.
It's funny...I don't think I have ever met a Jaguars fan until now, but that's pretty cool, what made you choose them?

Their 12-4 season in the mid-2000s coupled with my hatred for Saint Manning and the Colts.

That's interesting. Do you think you are a part of the NFL's smallest fan base?

What real risks are there for the franchise at this point? NFL relocation to Los Angeles seems all but unavoidable but with the Rams and/or Raiders moving back there. I've also heard Khan say that he promises the team will remain in Jacksonville.
I know some people claim the team will relocate to London, but I think that is one of Goodell's many far-fetched day dreams.

I'd love it if they moved to London jusy so I could say I was a Jags fan BEFORE they moved there Because tons of Canadians would start supporting them if they did haha.
