Week 7 is wrapped up just like Olly Murs, so now it's time to reveal the results!
This week on the M4BCC Song Contest, Blake Lewis vowed that he "gots" to get her, even with his shitty grammar, Carly Simon wanted you to come back home, and the Spice Girls were Saturday night divas! But, which song was ranked the greatest of the week? You'll find out TONIGHT on the results show!
Good evening everyone! I'm JessieLou, your host, and for some reason, still a participating contestant. I seriously thought I'd be eliminated by now, but here we are. Anyway, happy new year and welcome to the M4BCC Song Contest results show! Since we have six contestants left, that means that half of you are safe and half of you are in the bottom three, so at this point it's anybody's game.
Now, I'd make this suspenseful, but I don't feel like it. So I'm going to put the bottom 3 people and the safe people all in a group of three. Having said that, I'm going to put Bryan, Julian, and myself in one group, and Matt, John, and Cody in another.
First, Bryan, you submitted Song 1, "Don't Hold Me Down" by Colbie "Realize" Calliat. Julian, you submitted Song 2, no, STILL not Blur, "Saturday Night Divas" by the Spice Girls (ironically, I liked your song more than my own submission. Spiceworld was my first CD!). Jessica, I know you're talking to yourself and sound like a complete idiot right now, but you submitted Song 4, "Come Back Home" by Carly Simon. Julian has yet to be in the bottom 3 during this game and was only in the bottom three ONCE during the 2013 Song Contest. Bryan and myself, however, have a history of being in the bottom 3.
Now, this week, Matt and John apparently felt the need to submit songs by artists with the same last name. Matt, you submitted Song 5, "Lovebird" by Leona Lewis. John, you submitted Song 6, "Gots To Get Her" by Blake Lewis. Now I regret not submitting anything from Huey Lewis & The News this week. Cody, you decided to do something very un-Cody of you and submit "Fingerprints" by Katy Perry, which was Song 3. Although, it's not THAT un-Cody of you because that was back when she had a little bit of rock cred. This group has a little more luck when it comes to the bottom 3 - Matt has yet to be in it during this game, and Cody and John were only in it once, which was last week. Will this week be a repeat of last week, or will Bryan and myself return to the bottom 3 with a new appearance from Julian? The group who is safe this week is... the group with a guy... who stans for... Kate Voegele. Bryan, me, and Julian, you are all safe this week! Matt, John, and Cody, I'm sorry, but you are all in the bottom three this week.
Before we begin the Elimination Round, I will ask that ALL of you submit your songs for next week to me...even Cody, John, and Matt. The three of you will also need to submit new Elimination songs, since the one you submitted previously will now be used. Your song submissions are due by 11:59pm EST on Thursday, January 8th. If you don't submit your song to me by the deadline, you'll be automatically eliminated from the Song Contest.
Now, here are the three songs submitted for this week's Elimination Round:
Song 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fE0WG9C9ZrM
Song 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-qpJgCHXlA
Song 3: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQKHhvJ1pKA
- As participants in this week's Elimination Round, Cody, John, and John will not be permitted to vote. If they do vote, they will have 3 votes deducted from their song's total votes.
- As with the main rounds of the Song Contest, no one is allowed to reveal the identities of the songs or who submitted each song.
- At the end of voting 11:59pm EST on Friday, January 8th, the participants whose song has the most votes will move on to Week 8. The participant with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.
- The songs for Round 8 of the M4BCC Song Contest will be posted at the end of the Elimination Round.
***PLOT TWIST ALERT!!!*** This week, instead of submitting one song, you'll each be required to submit TWO songs (the three contestants in the Bottom 3 must also submit new elimination songs, as the rules above state, so they will be submitting THREE songs). One song you submit must adhere to the rules we've played with thus far in the Song Contest 2014. However, the second song must adhere to a theme. Your second song must be one of your all-time favorite songs. I'd like for each of you to actually submit a song that truly is one of your favorites, and now one that you'll suspect will get highly ranked because the radio told them to like it. This theme song can be a song that was released as a single and appeared on ANY chart.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or angry rants, feel free to post them here or PM me. Okay, maybe not so much the angry rants part, but you get the picture.
Good luck to our 3 participants this week!
