Week 2 has come to an end and now it is time for the results. I'm JessieLou, your host, so let's start the show!
First, I would like to thank mikeespinho for submitting his votes and continuing to participate. The more votes, the merrier brothas! It has been a very interesting week - we heard a song about St. Patrick in October, Emma Bunton becoming a 70's whore, and what happens when the white rabbits that Grace Slick sang about in the 60's turn pink. We also found out what records I bought yesterday. But enough chatter - let's get down to business. I would like to call Kim, Joel, and Matt onto the stage. Kim, you submitted Song 4, "Perfect Wave" by Barlow. Joel, you submitted Song 2, "L.O.V.E." by VV Brown. Matt, you submitted Song 7, "Nova" by The Sound Of Arrows. All three of you can sit right back down because not only are you all safe, but you all had at least one first place ranking this week - Matt had three, and Kim and Joel each had one. In other words, all three of you are the bomb!
Now let's bring Cody, Brady, and Green Baron onto the stage. Cody, you submitted Song 3, "Of All The Gin Joints In The World" by Fall Out Boy. Brady, you submitted Song 9, "Pink Rabbits" by The National. Green Baron, you submitted Song 1, "St. Patrick" by Pvris. The good news is that all three of you received TWO first place rankings this week! You'd think with two first place rankings, that you'd most likely be safe, right? WRONG! The bad news is that one of you, despite getting two first place rankings, still managed to end up in the bottom three. And that person is....
WHAT THE HELL? WHY IS THIS GEEZER KRIS KARDASHIAN, I MEAN, KRISTOFFERSON, DOING INTERRUPTING MY SONG CONTEST SHOW? GO AWAY YOU BORING ASS MOFO. GOD. Sorry about that folks, before that GEEZER decided to interrupt me, I was going to say that Brady… I’m sorry, but you are in the bottom three this week.
Next, I would like to call the three musketeers onto the stage – no, not Athos, Porthos, and Aramis – Bryan, John, and me! Oh wait, I’m already on the stage. Meh. Bryan, you submitted Song 6, “Crazy People” by The Wreckers. John, you submitted Song 5, “No Sign Of Life” by Emma Bunton. Jessica, I feel very uncomfortable speaking in the third person , but you submitted Song 10, “Slide Away” by Oasis. Oasis are a very polarizing band on these boards – there are some people on here who love them almost as much as I do, and there are some who cannot stand them, so I had no clue how people would react to that song. Not only am I safe, but I had TWO first place rankings this week! I’m so glad you guys enjoyed that one – apparently Paul McCartney once said that was his favorite Oasis song. SO CALL ME WHEN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SINGER/SONGWRITER OF ALL-TIME APPROVES OF YOUR SONG CONTEST SUBMISSION. Oh, hold on folks, I have a phone call. Hello? Oh hey! Guys, guess who’s on the phone with me? The host of the 2013 Song Contest, Jason! Hey brotha, what’s up?
Jason: “Hey Jess. I’m watching the show right now. What the hell are you doing? You’re supposed to be a host, you’re supposed to be professional, and meanwhile you’re bragging to the audience about how your submission was better than everyone else’s. That’s not cute. Just for that, I brought @cdennisfan out in a Mariah Carey wig and he’s going to throw glitter at you. And since you were extremely disrespectful to my good friend Kris Kristofferson while he was trying to perform his #16 SMASH, “Why Me”, I have two other friends of mine who are going to come there later to perform. So basically, get your act together hun. Oh, gotta go, I need to alphabetize my M&M’s. Bye!”
*sees David J in a wig a holding a bucket of Glitter*
Please do not ruin my clothes with that glitter. I’m wearing Chanel!
*David J ignores Jess’s requests and throws the glitter on her anyway. As he leaves the stage to go back into the audience to continue watching the show, Jess shouts at him.*
THIS ISN’T OVER, GLITTER BOY! Anyway, where was I again? Oh yeah, John, you are safe, and Bryan, I’m sorry, you will be joining Brady in the bottom three this week.
Now that just leaves Julian, Sam, and Ari. Two of you are safe; and one of you will be joining Bryan and Brady in the bottom three this week. Julian, you submitted Song 11, “Walk Away” by The Script. Sam, you submitted Song 8, “Twin Cities” by Hungry Kids of Hungary. Ari, you submitted Song 12, “Lord Of The Sties” by Death In June. Julian, I hate to tell you this, but… you did not have one first place ranking this week… however, that didn’t stop you from getting the most points this round! Yup, even though you did not receive a first place ranking, your song was still consistently ranked high by the voters, and you got enough points to be in first place this week, congrats! That just leaves Sam and Ari. Ari, I’m really sorry, but you are back in the bottom three this week. Sam, you’re safe.
Before we begin the Elimination Round, I will ask that… wait a minute, what’s that noise I am hearing? It sounds incredibly obnoxious.
SERIOUSLY?! NO, GET OFF THE SET YOU BRO COUNTRY SKANK BOYS! YOU DO NOT INTERRUPT ME WITH YOUR CRAPPINESS! Geez, why couldn’t Jason get Lita or Grace to interrupt me? Now THAT I wouldn’t mind!
Anyway, before Florida Georgia Whores interrupted me, I was going to tell you guys that before we begin the Elimination Round, I will ask that… ALL of you submit your songs for next week to me...even Ari, Bryan, and Brady. The three of you will also need to submit new Elimination songs, since the one you submitted last week will now be used. The rest of you ONLY have to submit your next choice for your competition song to me. Whoever gets knocked out during the Elimination Round will obviously not have their song continue on to Round 2. Your song submissions are due by 11:59pm EST on Sunday, October 26th. If you don't submit your song to me by the deadline, you'll be automatically eliminated from the Song Contest.
Now, here are the three songs submitted for this week's Elimination Round:
Song 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLDKp4DRIeU
Song 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEYeXApaZfw
Song 3: www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8w-wlQsEJs
- As participants in this week's Elimination Round, Ari, Bryan, and Brady will not be permitted to vote. If they do vote, they will have 3 votes deducted from their song's total votes.
- As with the main rounds of the Song Contest, no one is allowed to reveal the identities of the songs or who submitted each song.
- At the end of voting 11:59pm EST on Sunday, October 26th, the two participants whose songs have the most votes will move on to Round 2. The participant with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.
- The songs for Round 2 of the M4BCC Song Contest will be posted at the end of the Elimination Round.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or angry rants, feel free to post them here or PM me. Okay, maybe not so much the angry rants part, but you get the picture.
Good luck to our 3 participants this week!
