What if she didn't like men with hair, would you permanently shave your head for her?

Your opinion on tattoos changed that much in a year?

Your opinion on tattoos changed that much in a year? 1) My post was actually from 2013, not last year. 2) No, what's disgusting is that you'd consider dumping a serious girlfriend if she got a full sleeve of tattoos. If you really love someone, stuff like that shouldn't matter. But I guess I'm in the minority these days when it comes to that.

What if tattoos were against my religious beliefs? Not that they are, but if they were would that make it a legit reason?
You gotta admit, a full sleeve is kinda intense for people who aren't attracted to tattoos in the first place. It's not like I said I'd consider dumping a serious girlfriend for a piercing (which can be taken out) or a change in her body/looks (which can be changed back, or seen past because I don't care too much), but a canvas of tattoos is something permanent that I'm not really comfortable with. How is that disgusting?

How is that disgusting? This is a tough one because I don't see anything wrong with having qualities you're attracted to for whatever reason. But regardless of any reason of yours, you wouldn't/don't get a say in what her or anyone chooses to do with her own body. That's kind of the way it is, suck it up, deal with it, etc. If it was against your religious beliefs, those would be your beliefs, not hers. And of course, it works both ways. So, if it came down to it and you dated someone for X number of years and she went out and got a sleeve on her arm, you'd have to make the decision between your dislike of tattoos (or, hypothetically, religion) or her. So when Jessielou says that's disgusting - it might seem like a rash jump-the-gun reaction, but if you choose your dislike of tattoos over your longtime girlfriend, it kind of calls into question how you felt about her in the first place. Not to mention the whole ownership of her body thing. But, I don't think this would ever be an issue really because presumably you'd establish early on how you both felt about something like tattoos.
