I'm not 13 anymore. I can't spend all day on M4B looking at everyone's charts finding songs to check out for my chart. I'd love to since I love checking out your charts, but I can't do it regularly anymore. I work, I go out with friends, I can't spend 23 hours a day on M4B anymore. So for those of you who are expecting a thread this Thanksgiving from someone asking why I'm not in school, sorry but it's probably not gonna happen.
HOWEVER, now is your chance to recommend me songs for my chart to check out! I am open to all kinds of music, but here is what I like and dislike for reference.
LIKES
POP
- 80's (like Duran Duran, Starship)
- 90's/00's bubblegum (Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, 'NSYNC)
- Dance music with pop influences (like Madonna, Cher, and Amber)
- Disco (like Donna Summer, Bee Gees)
- Music from outside the USA. I've gotten into so much music from outside the USA on this board. Delta Goodrem was an artist I remember really stanning for during my early years on here, and of course Girls Aloud. <3 I used to follow the UK and Canada's charts pretty often and there was even a "Canadian Invasion" on my chart in 2004-2005. Considering how well songs from Little Mix and Ish have done on my chart as of late, I'm obviously still interested in international music.
- Soft rock, particularly from the 70's (think songs like "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship and "How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia)
- Today's pop to an extent (Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Demi Lovato)
ROCK
- 60's/70's classic rock (Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Rush, Fleetwood Mac)
- 80's classic rock (Pat Benatar, Heart, Journey)
- 80's hair bands (Lita Ford, Bon Jovi, Dokken)
- 90's alternative rock (like Alanis Morissette, Oasis, and Hole)
- Classic heavy metal (like Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, and Dio)
OTHER
- Any kind of songs with like a throwback kind of sound like "Uptown Funk"
- Country music VERY occasionally, although I am more into female country vocalists like Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, and Carrie Underwood.
- Old school R&B (like Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and Brandy)
- Old school rap (like 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G.)
- Old school funk ("Rapper's Delight", "Give It To Me Baby", "She's A Bad Mama Jama", etc.)
DISLIKES
Cock rock (like Halestorm)
Country music with really redneck lyrics (like pretty much Toby Keith's entire discography)
Generic EDM (like David Guetta and Calvin Harris)
INDIE.
Pretentious pop music (like Lady Gaga)
Pretentious urban music (like the 50-minute Justin Timberlake songs and Drake's really slow stuff. songs that try too hard to be ~different~)
Reggae
Screamo (like Slipknot)
Today's heavy metal (like Avenged Sevenfold)
May I remind you that this is just a guide for reference. I will check out everything that is posted in this thread, because really, you never know unless you listen to it. For example, "cock rock" is under my dislikes but I happen to like several Buckcherry songs.
