Hello again, everyone! It's time to reveal the results from Week 2 of the M4BCC Song Contest. So let's get to it!
Jessica, I'd like to have you come to center stage. And please bring your M4BCC BFF with you! *Jessica grabs Bryan's hand and starts to pull him to his feet* Well... THIS is awkward. I wanted Adam to come with you to center stage. I kind of assumed that's who you'd automatically bring with you. But let's bring Bryan up too! Adam, your song this week was Song #9, "Reach Out Richard" by Mayer Hawthorne. Bryan, you submitted Song #6, "We Feel Too Little" by Anya Klys. Jessica, your submission was Song #3, "Things I'll Never Say" by Avril Lavigne. Bryan, I hadn't intended on having you come up to the stage yet, so I'm going to ask you to sit back down. You're safe and moving on to the next round! Adam... Jessica doesn't seem to consider you her BFF. I'm going to give you the opportunity to have the last laugh. You're ALSO safe and moving on to the next round! Jessica, it's usually at this point that I reveal the person left on the stage IS in the Bottom 3 this week. And frankly, it would serve you right for being so insensitive to your BFF-ness with Adam. However, I can't send you to the Bottom 3 simply to teach you a lesson about the value of an internet BFF. You're safe too!
Let me next have Mikeespinho and Kworb join me. Mikee, you submitted Song #10, "Two Beds & A Coffee Machine" by Savage Garden. Kworb, your song was Song #11, "To Let Myself Go" by Ane Brun. I can reveal that one of you is in the Bottom 3 and one of you is safe. Mikee, you are safe. Kworb, I'm sorry. That means you're in the Bottom 3 this week and will be in the Elimination Round.
Now I'll ask the rest of the participants to join me on the stage. Let's all stand in a circle. Do any of you remember the game show, The Weakest Link? It was popular on British TV and was adapted for American TV several years ago...but didn't stay on the air very long. In the spirit of that game show.... *I look at everyone standing in a circle very seriously until my gaze settles on David J* David J, you ARE the weakest link.....Goodbye! *David J looks dumbfounded and asks, "Doesph thisph meanph I'mph eliminated........ph?!"* No, no. This is a good thing. It means you are eliminated from the circle we've formed here on the stage. You're safe and get the pleasure of staying in the competition! By the way, David J's entry was Song #8, "Kiss You All Over" by Danny Saucedo.
Everyone else can sit down except for Josh, Drag, and Dan. Josh submitted Song #13, "Don't Let Me Stop You" by Kelly Clarkson. Drag, your song was Song #1, "Lacrymosa" by Evanescence. Boy, could I use one of those right about now. I love orange juice and alcohol! Oh wait. I'm thinking of a MImosa. Uh...moving on! Dan, you submitted Song #2, "Callin' Me When I'm Lonely" by Sheryl Crow. These are three acts that either have been in the past or are currently beloved by the M4BCC membership overall. It would certainly be a shame if any of you were in the Bottom 3 as a result of submitting a song by one of these 3 artists. Luckily, none of you have to worry about that. All of you are safe and have made it through to the next round!
I'd like to ask Ari and Matt to come to center stage now. Ari, your entry this week was Song #4, "Boy Child" by Scott Walker. Matt, you submitted Song #5, "Let's Talk About Love" by Celine Dion. This week, one of you is in the Bottom 3 and one of you is safe. Ari, you were in the Bottom 3 last week, but you fought your way back into the competition with an overwhelming majority of the vote in the Elimination Round. Matt, your entry last week garnered the most points. How badly would it suck for you to go from being ranked first last week to being ranked in the Bottom 3 this week? Fortunately for you, you won't know how badly it would suck, because you're safe this week! Ari, I'm sorry to tell you that, for the second week in a row, you're in the Bottom 3. You will join Kworb in the Elimination Round.
There are only two participants left who I haven't given results to. It's one half of "The 'J' Team." Joel and John, come on up here! And before we proceed, I feel like I must say, "I pity the fool who ends up in the Bottom 3 this week!" (If you don't get that reference, look up the 80s TV show, The A Team.) Joel, your song submission this week had everyone talking. You submitted Song #7, "I Think I Farted" by Taryn Southern featuring Shawn Dawson and Joe Nation. John, your song submission also had everyone talking, but for an entirely different reason. You submitted "Dark Paradise" by Lana Del Rey...a song whose appearance on international charts got past my apparently not-too-thorough background check. Joel, did your decision to submit a risky song backfire? John, did the chart status of YOUR submission work for you or against you? As you can see, you two are the last two to get results this week. There is still one spot open in the Bottom 3. This means one of you is safe and one of you is in the Bottom 3. Joel, I'm sorry but you are in the Bottom 3 and will join Ari and Kworb in the Elimination Round this week. John, you are moving on to the next round, because you are safe!
Before we begin the Elimination Round, I want to ask all of you - as I did last week - to submit your songs for next week to me...even Ari, Joel, and Kworb. The three of you will also need to submit new Elimination songs, since the one you've already submitted will now be used. The rest of you ONLY have to submit your next choice for your competition song to me. Whoever gets knocked out during the Elimination Round will obviously not have their song continue on to Round 3. Your song submissions are due by 11:59pm North American Eastern Time on Sunday, October 13. There will be no extensions granted. If you don't submit your song to me by the deadline, you'll be eliminated from the Song Contest.
Now, here are the three songs submitted for this week's Elimination Round:

Song 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bny4saJcok
Song 3: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZlOlnypBCE
Here is a recap of the Elimination Round rules:
- Please vote for the TWO songs you like the best.
- As participants in this week's Elimination Round, Ari, Joel, and Kworb will not be permitted to vote. If they do vote, they will have 3 votes deducted from their song's total votes.
- As with the main rounds of the Song Contest, no one is allowed to reveal the identities of the songs or who submitted each song.
- At the end of voting 11:59pm North American Eastern Time on Sunday, October 13, the two participants whose songs have the most votes will move on to Round 3. The participant with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.
- The songs for Round 3 of the M4BCC Song Contest will be posted at the end of the Elimination Round.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to post them here or PM me.
Good luck to our 3 participants this week!
