Those are two of Hot AC's juggernauts, so it makes sense they rank this high on your list.

4. Christina AguileraIn a rather odd coincidence, my top 4 artists of my chart era could possibly also be the artists with the top 4 songs in my chart's history! The #4 artist certainly does; Christina Aguilera broke through in 1999 with "Genie In A Bottle", and is one of six artists to take their first 2 chart appearances to #1. The #1's certainly didn't stop there - her next album, "Stripped", had four more chart-toppers and remains an all-time favourite. However, her biggest hit came on the retro-influenced "Back To Basics" album - "Hurt" spent a then-unprecedented 8 weeks at #1. Aside from a new song from her greatest hits album and the Maroon 5 collaboration "Moves Like Jagger", she's mostly struggled since, though her last two albums each had their lead singles go top 5. - Genie In A Bottle - Beautiful - Fighter - Hurt - Keeps Gettin' Better

3. Kelly ClarksonAt #3 is the first, and still my favourite, American Idol winner... Kelly Clarkson! I've liked her since the start, and in her first year of charting, she had three top 5 hits. However, her "Breakaway" album really made her a star, and is one of just two albums in my chart's history to have five #1's on my chart; to this day, it remains one of my all-time favourites. Since then, every one of her albums has had at least two #1's. In 2009, hype for her new music helped "My Life Would Suck Without You" debut at #2 and rise to #1 afterwards, spending seven weeks there and becoming my #2 song of that year. The "Stronger" album maintained this success, with three #1 hits, including my all-time favourite from her, "Dark Side", which spent 8 weeks at #1, half a year in my top 10, and set various other records, easily becoming my #1 song of 2012. I saw her live last year, and the concert was absolutely incredible, reminded me of why I like her so much! Her recent greatest hits album has also given her two more #1's on my chart, and with a new country single rising up my chart, it shows that, over a decade on, I still like her as much as I ever did! - Behind These Hazel Eyes - Because Of You - My Life Would Suck Without You - Dark Side - People Like Us

2. Britney SpearsA chart mainstay since my very first chart in 1999 has been Britney Spears. Ever since her debut with "Baby One More Time", which spent 5 weeks at #1 on my chart and became my chart's first big monster hit, spending a full eight months on. The hits continued, with five #1's in my chart's first two years alone; her first two albums are still among my favourite pop albums. Her "In The Zone" album was among my most hyped up and anticipated albums ever, and two of its singles, "Toxic" and "Everytime" are among my all-time favourites from her, both of which ended up in my top 5 of 2004. Over my chart's life, she's accumulated a total of 18 #1's - more than any other artist. So why isn't Britney #1, might you ask? The truth is - while she hasn't stopped getting the #1's (indeed, her most recent, "Ooh La La" was just a few weeks ago), none of her #1's 2007-present have spent more than 2 weeks on top! Still, to just miss out on #1 (it was actually closer than you may have thought) is an amazing accomplishment for Britney! - Baby One More Time - Sometimes - Oops... I Did It Again - Toxic - Everytime

Strong ranking for Britney. Your chart isn't the only one where her chart-toppers only stay at #1 for a week or two...the American pop chart has been the same way.

Must say, I'm quite stunned Britney's not at the top! But I kind of want to put a bet on who the number 1 is!!! I can only think of one artist who would ever out-do Britney on your chart Let's wait and see if I'm correct or not!

1. Kate VoegeleI don't think anyone should be surprised that my #1 top charted artist of my chart era is the one, the only Kate Voegele! I know many of you have heard the story over and over again, but I just have to re-iterate this incredible tale of how I discovered and loved Kate. When I first heard "Only Fooling Myself" back in 2008, it was literally a love at first sight feeling. It quickly climbed to #1 on my chart and stayed there for an incredible 10 weeks, a record that still holds today, and was my #1 of 2008 by a very long way. The success of this song led to me buying her "Don't Look Away" album and I loved every song on there; by the end of 2008, she had two more #1's, including a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and the Diane Warren-written "You Can't Break A Broken Heart". As great as 2008 was for Kate for me... I knew 2009 had to be better. I made it a resolution that I would see one of her concerts, regardless of how far I had to travel to see her, I knew I just had to. Sure enough, she ended up releasing her album "A Fine Mess" that year, and toured extensively throughout the year, so much so that I got to see her not one, not two, not three, but FOUR times that year! 2009 to date remains Kate's biggest year on my chart, with her album having four #1's that year - "Manhattan From The Sky", "99 Times", "Angel" and "Inside Out". In addition to seeing Kate live, I also got to meet her twice in 2009, and those moments remain among the most cherished of my life, having the chance to meet one of my musical idols/celebrity crush. The success from 2009 spilled over into 2010, with another #1 from her album, "Who You Are Without Me", and a collaboration with Marianas Trench, "Good To You", also hit #1. In all, nine songs charted from "A Fine Mess", all of which made the top 2. In 2011, Kate returned with "Gravity Happens", which would eventually have every track from its standard edition make my chart. Four of them - "Heart In Chains", "Sandcastles", "Say You're Mine", and "Unusual" all hit #1. In all, Kate has had 13 #1's, and while this is only enough for 4th place overall, her overall success has pushed her over the top as my chart's most successful artist ever. All that in just five years! And with a fourth album hopefully coming soon, it'll be clear that Kate will reign as my chart's leading artist for some time to come! YAYAYAY!!! I was correct BTW Sooooo jelly that you've MET her!!! *turns green with envy* Such a gorgeous piccie of you both!! I can't tell a story as extravagant as yours! "Only Fooling Myself" was an anthem of mine back in 2008, staying at the top of the chart for I-forget-how-long, but I haven't loved anything as much as that since Great number 1!
