Week 108 – March 23^rd, 2013

March is going to an end, but the top spot of my chart isn’t changing for one more week. Maybe next week this is going to an end too. “Torpedo’s” 6th week at the top is endangered by Pink feat. Nate Ruess. Their duet “Just give me a reason” climbed up one to the runner’s up position in their 11th week. Next week could be their last chance to get the top spot. So far in two years of running this chart no song reached #1 after passing 12 weeks on chart. Falling down one spot is “The high road” (#3) by Three Days Grace which is now staying longer in the Top 10 than their #1 smash hit “Lost in you” back in 2011. Kelly Clarkson has a very good week. “Hello” (#5) finally reached the Top 5 and “The war is over” (#10) did the final step into the Top 10 which brings her a total of eight Top 10 hits. And there is one more new song in my Top 10. Bosse’s reminiscence to 1994 brings me back to my youth when I was 14 years old. This “good old times” or should I say “best times” brings him his first Top 10 hit with “Schönste Zeit” (#9). Falling out of the Top 10 are Cascada with “Glorious” (#11) and Matt Cardle with “Letters” (#13).

Leaving the top section brings me straight to this week’s highest new entry. This one comes from the only actual Austrian “Superstar”. After a break of nearly three years Christina Stürmer, a former candidate of the Austrian casting show “Starmania”, is returning with her new single. “Millionen Lichter” (#15, “Million lights”) is her first single from her upcoming album “Ich hör auf mein Herz” (“I listen to my heart”). This song is new concurrence for better known songs like “Unter meiner Haut” (#12) or “Dark paradise” (#14) which are trying to reach the top section of my chart for several weeks. Beside Christina Stürmer this week sees a second big new entry. It comes from Pink. Her rumoured next single “True love” (#22) with Lily Rose Cooper reached a Top 30 entry. It’s not her only debut this week. “Are we all we are” (#72) can be found in the lower section of my chart.

After two weeks in a row Bosse didn’t get the award for the greatest gainer of the week. But this award remains in the hands of a German act. Gentleman’s new single “You remember” (#40) climbed up 23 spots so he got this award. Not far behind you can find the third new entry within the Top 50. It is coming from Anouk. If you follow my chart for a while you will now that she had three #1’s over the last years. Her first single from her upcoming album “Sad singalong songs” disappointed, because “Stardust” (#93) only peaked at #30. With her song “Birds” (#46) she is participating in the “Eurovision Song Contest”. In the Netherlands this song shoots straight to #1 which brought her the 2nd #1 in her long career. “Birds” is no bad song, but at the moment I feel no deep connection with the style of her new album.

Week 109 – March 30^th, 2013

It has been a tough decision, but due to heavy radio airplay this week “Just give me a reason” is now Pink’s second #1 hit and Nate Ruess first. Jillette Johnson dropped down to the runner’s up position with “Torpedo”, but a return isn’t out of my mind. Kelly Clarkson is completing the Top 3 with her latest smash “Hello”. While Alanis Morissette left the Top 5 last week with “Receive” she returned this week with “Lens” (#5). The first song which isn’t from the USA or Canada is “Schönste Zeit” (#7) by Bosse directly behind “The high road” (#6) by Three Days Grace. Except the position changes there is no new song in the Top 10 this week.

Climbing up four spots is Christina Stürmer with “Millionen Lichter” (#11). This song is really hot for reaching the Top 10. Which also is “Paradise” (#12) by Lana Del Rey. Two more songs are knocking at this door. First to mention is Lauter Leben with “Es ist soweit” (#14). And then there is another song by Pink. “True love” (#15) the song with Lily Rose Cooper. The greatest gainer of the week is Danish song “Os to” (#60) by Line.

The highest new entry can be found outside the Top 50. It’s Phillip Phillips with “Gone gone gone” (#61). In some parts this song reminds me to my former #1 “Love love love” by Avalanche City. Another mentionable new entry comes from Swedish singer Jasmine Kara. Her latest single “Can’t lie to me” (#76) gives her musical style a complete new direction which I absolutely like. Other new entries are “Weapon” (#86) by Crystalyne, “Takes all night” (#88) by Skye Stevens, “Everyday” (#89) by Brighter Brightest, “Are you ready tonight” (#90) by Bodybangers feat. Week 110 – April 6^th, 2013

Everything was going to be a duel between Pink feat. Nate Ruess and Jillette Johnson. At the end no one of them got this week’s #1. It’s Kelly Clarkson who got this honour. At the beginning of 2012 Kelly Clarkson had her last #1 with “What doesn’t kill you (stronger)”. This time one of my favourite songs of her “Stronger” album “Hello” reached #1. So “Just give me a reason” (#3) dropped down while Jillette Johnson’s “Torpedo” is still at the runner’s up position. Bosse and his “Schönste Zeit” (#4) finally reached the Top 5 and has now the chance to get the next #1 after “Hello”. Austrian local hero Christina Stürmer got her first Top 10 hit with “Millionen Lichter” (#6). Beside this new song in the Top 10 there is a one more new song in this section. A surprising sprint for “Uncover” (#7) brought Swedish newcomer Zara Larsson her first Top 10 hit. These songs replaced “The war is over” (#11) by Kelly Clarkson and “Rebel beat” (#15) by Goo Goo Dolls.

While Zara Larsson sprinted into the Top 10 Lana Del Rey failed for one more week to reach this part with “Dark paradise” (#12). It seems that next week could be her week, but who knows. The highest new entry comes from Sam Gray. Last year he reached the Top 10 with “This girl”. This time he tries it with “One night stand” (#32) another adorable single from his new album “Too much of a good thing”. Not far behind is Jasmine Kara with “Can’t lie to me” (#35) who got this week’s award for the greatest gainer.

Her chart debut gave Hungarian newcomer Gigi Radics. Some weeks ago she released her Hungarian single “Úgy fáj” (“It hurts”) and the English version of this song with different lyrics. I like both versions, but I’m charting the English version “Over you” (#36) which gave her a solid debut. Speaking about debuts I’ve to point out that finally “I love it” (#57) by Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX made it to my chart. Here in Austria this song is nearly everywhere. On the radio, on TV and this song is used for a commercial spot too. So you see there is no escape, which brings them to my chart 18 weeks after their debut on the Austrian Top 40.

Last year Italian singer Emma had several Top 10 hits on my chart. This time three more songs of her album “Sarò libera” are debuting on my chart, while in Italy her new single from her next album gave its debut. Instead of this new song you find “Acqua e ghiaccio” (“Water and Ice”, #79), “Da quando mi hai lasciato tu” (“Since I’ve left you”, #80) and “Dove finisce la note” (“Where the night ends”, #81) on my chart. Other debuts are “City lights” (#73) by Ashley Hicklin, “On ira” (#87) by Zaz, “Recovery” (#88) by Frank Turner, “Wasting water” (#89) by Emerentia, “Broken mirror” (#94) by Fleur & Cutline, “Dancer in the dark” (#97) by Seraphim and “Ain’t messin ‘round” (#100) by Gary Clark Jr..

Week 111 – April 13^th, 2013

Over the last weeks there had been clear signs that Bosse has a really good chance to shine at the top spot. This week he climbed up three with “Schönste Zeit” which brings him is first #1 song. This is the first song from Germany topping my chart since Silbermond reached #1 with “Himmel auf” (“Sky on”) last year in March. Dropping down one are Kelly Clarkson with “Hello” (#2) and Jillette Johnson and her “Torpedo” (#3). Beside the German #1 there is one more song in German in my actual Top 5. It’s “Millionen Lichter” (#4) by Christina Stürmer who got this week a Top 5 debut in Austria. While “Just give me a reason” (#5) is going downward Pink’s latest chart hit with Lily Rose Cooper “True love” (#7) entered my Top 10. For Lily Rose Cooper this is her first Top 10 hit on my chart. “Dark paradise” (#9) by Lana Del Rey is her 5th Top 10 hit from her debut album “Born to die”.

Out of the Top 10, but not out of my mind are the former #1 “I knew you were trouble.” (#12) by Taylor Swift and the rock ballade “The high road” (#14) by Three Days Grace. Next week could be the week for Lauter Leben. Their single “Es ist soweit” (#13) isn’t far behind the Top 10. This song could be the third German song at the same time in my Top 10 which never happened before. A fast climber is Passenger. His top hit “Let her go” (#19) reached a new peak within the Top 20. The greatest gainer of the week comes from Emma. Last week she had a triple debut. All of her new songs on the list did well. The best performance had “Da quando mi hai lascisto tu” (#55).

The top three debuts are coming from the same British singer. Tich is a newcomer who released her first EP in December last year. Her debut single “Dumb” (#36) is fresh and has a very catchy refrain. This leads her to a solid debut and gives her a perfect future outlook. And there is one more thing. “Dumb” brought me to her debut EP “Candlelight” which I also like. Two of these songs – “Breathe in, breathe out” (#59) and “Dust” (#60) – also gave their debut. Especially “Breathe in, breathe out” could be a surprising hit. Speaking about newcomers from UK then I’ve to say that Nina Nesbitt’s debut single “Boy” (#70) made the cut too. As well as the new single by Gabrille Aplin “Panic cord” (#71) gave its debut which could be her third Top 10 hit in a row in UK.

Week 112 – April 20^th, 2013

This is a chart for the history book. For the first time two songs in German are at the top of my chart. Bosse defended his #1 position with “Schönste Zeit” (“Best time”). Austrian star Christina Stürmer is now in the runner’s up position with her beautiful “Millionen Lichter” (“Million lights”). The Top 3 is completed with “Torpedo” by Jillette Johnson. While “Just give me a reason” (#6) by Pink feat. Nate Ruess finally reached #1 in Austria this song is on its way down on my chart. Nevertheless there is no time to feel sorry for Pink. “True love” (#5) climbed into the Top 5 so this song could be her third #1 on my chart in the next weeks. Outside the Top 5 there are some position changes and one new song in the Top 10. It’s “Es ist soweit” (#9, “The time has come”) by Lauter Leben. Before I’m ending with this part of my chart I’ve to say something about Alanis Morissette. “Lens” (#13) dropped out of this section. But this isn’t what I want to say. Her song “Receive” celebrates this week its 26th week within the Top 10. No other song has spent more weeks in the Top 10 before!

Giving a big comeback is Christina Aguilera. Her actual hit single “What a moment” with Pitbull is really annoying and can’t be found on my chart. “Let there be love” (#11) was on its way down before I bought “Lotus” this week. “Lotus” is a good album with ups and downs. This album purchase helped her returning to a new peak and she is now knocking at the Top 10. The highest new entry comes from Scottish band Biffy Clyro. Until this week they had only one charting hit with “God and satan” back in 2011. And the first single from their new album “Opposite” failed to chart. From the very first listen I like their new single “Biblical” (#14) which should be the band’s first Top 10 hit in the future.

Last week Tich debuted with three songs. All of her songs climbed up. “Dumb” (#27) is now in the Top 30. “Breathe in breathe out” (#40) is this week’s greatest gainer, because it climbed up 19 spots. “Breathe in breathe out” is followed by the second highest new entry. Avril Lavigne is back. While her last two albums haven’t met my expectations (“Goodbye lullaby” only produced one Top 10 hit “Everybody hurts” which wasn’t released as a single), this time it could change. I really like her new song “Here’s to never growing up” (#41). Sure it debuts outside the Top 40, but there are so many good songs out there at the moment that a bigger debut wasn’t possible. This is also the reason why Paramore’s new hit “Still into you” (#46) or “22” by Taylor Swift only debuted in the lower half of my Top 50. Just a few words to Paramore’s new album. I really enjoyed listening to their previous albums, but at the moment I’m not sure about this one. So I’m feeling a little bit disappointed with “Paramore” and I’m hoping this feeling changes.

A very good week has Germany. Six of 14 new entries come from Austria’s neighbour country. The highest is “White opposite” (#59) by Kids Of Adelaide. Their sound is fresh and similar to Mumford & Suns. Then there are Sportfreunde Stiller with their first single “Applaus, Applaus” (#91, “Applause, Applause”) from "New York, Rio, Rosenheim" and Peter Plate the former member of Rosenstolz with “Wir beide sind Musik” (#92, “We both are music). Other new entries are “Daylight” (#60) by Maroon 5, “Pompeii” (#61) by Bastille, “State of Grace” (#78) by Taylor Swift, “Impossible” (#85) by Shontelle while the cover version by James Arthur is getting more and more attention I chose this version to chart, “Fallin’” (#88) by Markus Engelstätter, “Unter meiner Deckn” (#89, “Under my blanket”) and “I want you” (#90) by Blac Head Lion.

Week 113 – April 27^th, 2013

A new edition ends with the same #1 I had over the last two weeks. Bosse is holding Christina Stürmer at #2 with “Millionen Lichter”. New at the podium is Pink feat. Lily Rose Cooper with “True love”. Directly behind there are three former #1 including “Torpedo” (#4) by Jillette Johnson which was my #1 for six weeks. This week there are two additions in the Top 10. The first comes from Christina Aguilera. It took her 11 weeks to get in the Top 10 with “Let there be love” (#7). And last week’s highest new entry “Biblical” (#10) by Biffy Clyro is also new in this section. This brings the Scottish band their first Top 10 hit. If you look over my Top 10 you will recognize that there is no song from Alanis Morissette in there. After an amazing run of 26 weeks “Receive” (#11) dropped out of the Top 10, but it is only one spot behind.

While I had no Top 10 debut this year now the new entries approximate this part of my chart. Last week Biffy Clyro debuted at #14 with “Biblical”. This week’s highest new entry comes from Kelly Clarkson. “People like us” (#13) is now her 15th chart entry. And all of her songs reached the Top 20 expect “Standing in front of you” which peaked at #40 and “Don’t rush” which I didn’t chart. If everything goes on normal routine this song could be her next #1. For next week “People like us” is matching for a Top 10 spot with “Jemanden wie dich” (#12, “Someone like you”) by Johannes Oerding who sprinted up 14 spots. Also doing well is Anouk. I’m starting to enjoy her new single and Eurovision song “Birds” (#20) which is noticeable on her placement.

Since I’ve started to listen to Matt Cardle a week without a song in my chart from him isn’t a very good week. Such a thing happened last week as the last songs from his debut album “Letters” dropped out of the chart. This week he is back bringing “It’s only love” (#35) to a solid debut. Not far behind this debut the greatest gainer of the week can be found. It’s Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt with “Boy” (#41). Beside the debuts by Kelly Clarkson and Matt Cardle there are some more interesting new entries. First to mention is the Hip Hop formation Sam. With their debut release “Wir” (#55, “We”) they missed the Top 50 for only five spots. Christina Aguilera & Blake Shelton finally debuted with their duet “Just a fool” which I really like now.

Normally songs from candidates of “DSDS” didn’t get a lot of attention. This thing changed with Luca Hänni’s new single. “Shameless” (#64) sounds like “Chasing the sun” by The Wanted which I didn’t chart. But this song got me and could end within the Top 20. I shouldn't forget the dance song “Tonight” (#76) by Jessica Sanchez feat. Ne-Yo. Ne-Yo had two appearances on my chart with little success. For Jessica Sanchez it’s her debut. This song could bring them to a very good position. Other debuts are “Sweetest heartbreak” (#56) by Manda, “I belong 2 U” (#82) by Mo-No feat. Sara Cruz & Flo Rida, “Time to love” (#87) Marsal Ventura & Ivi Adamou, “40.000 feet off the ground” (#88) by Wasteland, “Keep me crazy” (#89) by Chris Wallace and “Depature and arrival” (#100) by My Heart Belongs To Cecilia Winter.

Week 114 – May 4^th, 2013

The German top song is over. Long live the German top song. While Bosse’s “Schönste Zeit” (#2) dropped one Austrian darling Christina Stürmer took over. “Millionen Lichter” is her first #1 on my chart. Scoring more than one week at the top will be hard, because Pink feat. Lily Rose Cooper is trying hard to reach this spot with her new single “True love” (#3). “Torpedo” (#4) by Jillette Johnson is still in the Top 5 while Christina Aguilera is entering this part with “Let there be love” (#5). Two songs are new in the Top 10. Let’s start with the new Kelly Clarkson single. “People like us” (#7) climbed up six spots. And finally Johannes Oerding reached at Top 10 spot with “Jemanden wie dich” (#8). So I’ve four German songs in my Top 10 which I had never before. New Swedish superstar Zara Larsson left this section with “Uncover” (#16). Also dropping down after one week is Biffy Clyro with “Biblical” (#11). But I’m sure they will return.

After two weeks with high new entries you must have a look at the lower part of my chart to find this week’s highest debut. Before it you find the greatest gainer of the week. It’s Swedish newcomer Manda. Her dance song “Sweetest heartbreak” (#32) climbed up 24 spots. Austrian new star Julian Le Play released last week a new single. “Der Wolf” (#44, “The wolf”) is this week's highest new entry. All in all new entries from Germany dominate. Among the best new entries is Pohlmann. His new single “Star Wars” (#69) is leading the German pack before Nigerian born German singer Chima debuts with his 2012 leading single “Morgen” (#70, “Tomorrow”). Releasing a remix of this song with Lebanese born German rappers Mo-Trip and his brother Elmo lead my attention to this song. The remix of “Morgen” (#85) also gave its debut this week.

A few weeks ago one part of former German band Rosenstolz released new single material. This week Peter Plate’s “Wir beide sind Musik” (“We both are music”) dropped out. But AnNa R. the other part of Rosenstolz released this week a single with her new band Gleis 8. Their song “Wer ich bin” (#81, “Who I am”) is in the style of Rosenstolz and could be a big hit in Germany. On my chart they only start in the lower section. And last but not least I shouldn’t forget about Mic Donet. Two more songs of his album “Plenty of love” are debuting. It’s “Fly” (#83) and “Someday” (#84). Other debuts are “I choose U” (#53) by Timeflies, “Should’ve gone to bed” (#79) by Plain White T’s, “Sun” (#89) by Belinda Carlisle, “Closure” (#90) by Owl Eyes, “Stars” (#91) by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, “Ich suche dich” (#98, “I search for you”) by CashMo feat. Week 115 – May 11^th, 2013

Christina Stürmer only stayed at the top for one week with “Millionen Lichter” (#2). This is the shortest time for an Austrian song at the top of the chart. “Millionen Lichter” was replaced by “True Love”. For Pink it’s her third #1 song from her “The truth about love” album which brings her at the moment a total of four weeks at #1 with these songs. For her duet partner Lily Rose Cooper it’s her first #1. The Top 3 is completed by Bosse’s “Schönste Zeit”. How long “True love” will stay at the top depends on how fast Kelly Clarkson’s new single can climb up the chart. For now “People like us” (#4) entered the Top 5. After some weeks of climbing up “Let there be love” (#6) by Christina Aguilera dropped one.

For the first time British singer Tich reached the Top 10. “Dumb” (#7) is a very catchy song which sprinted up the chart fast over the last couple of weeks. And here is the first new entry within the Top 10 this year. Earlier this year this band had a Top 5 hit with their debut single “Anything at all”. With their new single “Can’t keep waiting” (#9) Canadian Country band Autumn Hill shot straight into the Top 10 which brings them in a good position for reaching #1 in the near future. These two new songs in the Top 10 replaced “Es ist soweit” (#12) by Lauter Leben and “Just give me a reason” by Pink feat. Nate Ruess.

The direct entry by Autumn Hill within the Top 10 prevented the return by Biffy Clyro who are at the closet position with “Biblical” (#11). Doing well between the spots 11 and 20 are Phillip Phillips with his “Gone gone gone” (#13) and Natália Kelly. Next week Natália Kelly will participate within the “Eurovision song contest” for Austria. Unfortunately “Shine” (#15) only charted in Austria for one week at #26, but over the last weeks this song got strong airplay. Should she reach the finals we will see what is happening afterwards. Taylor Swift’s new single “22” (#19) reached the Top 20 which brings her the fourth Top 20 hit from her actual album.

For me Plain White T’s are no longer a one hit wonder band. Back in 2007 I really enjoyed "Hey there Delilah". Nearly six years later their new single “Should’ve gone to bed” (#53) is the greatest gainer of the week after climbing up 26 spots. Next week they should reach the Top 50. While “Because you can” (#90) is on its way out of my chart Bon Jovi’s new single is debuting outside the Top 50. The title track of their new album “What about now” (#55) is a strong song which could do well on my chart.

I’ve written about one hit wonders. Then I’ve to speak about another band too. Back in 1997 “MMMBop” crashed into our lives and brought Hanson a worldwide hit. Sure they had a follow up hit like Plain White T’s but for me only “MMMBop” had relevance. Now 16 years later they got my attention with their new single “Get the girl back” (#74). They debuted at the lower part of the chart, but this song has the chance to reach the Top 50 in the next weeks at least. Week 116 – May 18^th, 2013

Love is unfathomable. Otherwise it can’t be explained that Pink is singing about slapping in someone’s face when the whole song is about true love. I really like her new single “True love”, but I personally think that the part of Lily Rose Cooper is too short. In general this a very catchy song and deserves to stay longer at the top. But there is one song behind “True love” which is trying to prevent a longer run. “People like us” (#2) is a typical Kelly Clarkson song. If everything is running normally this song takes over within the next weeks. Holding stable is “Schönste Zeit” (#3) by Bosse while Austrian darling Christina Stürmer is on her way down with “Millionen Lichter” (#4). Last week’s highest debut “Can’t keep waiting” by Canadian country band Autumn Hill climbed up two spots. This week only one song is new in the Top 10. It is US born Natália Kelly. “Shine” (#10) is very radio-friendly and of course catchy. Unfortunately “Shine” was eliminated on Tuesday in Semifinal 1 of the Eurovision Song Contest. This song is a sleeper. It took her 14 weeks to get in the Top 10 and we will see how far it will go in the future.

Once more I have to write that “Biblical” (#11) is knocking at the door to the Top 10. It’s interesting to see how often Biffy Clyro is in this position, but I hope that they come back next week. Otherwise Taylor Swift is on her way up with “22” (#13). From now on Tich has two songs in my Top 20. Her actual single “Dumb” (#6) is trying to reach the Top 5 while “Breathe in, breathe out” (#17) climbed up 11 spots to a new peak. Back in the Top 20 is Anouk with “Birds” (#19). Her performance in Semifinal 1 of the Eurovision Song Contest helped her to get back there. Next week we will find out how much her performance during the final can push her.

This week’s highest new entry comes from Sara Bareilles. Remember back when I re-started my chart back in 2011 she had nine songs of her second album “Kaleidoscope heart” on my chart. It ended up with two songs in the Top 10 where “Uncharted” peaked at #5. Her new single “Brave” (#39) is remembering me to this song. Generally it was tight. Directly behind her Portugals star Aurea debuted with the second single of her album “Soul notes”. “Nothing left to say” (#40) shows how good she really is and what the whole album could have been. It’s a good choice for a second single, but at the moment in Portugal this song and her album didn’t come close the success of her first album.

German band Glasperlenspiel released new material. Their actual single “Nie vergessen” (#47, “Never forget”) brings them a solid Top 50 debut. A Top 20 hit is absolutely possible. Last week Hunter Hayes gave his chart debut with “I want crazy” (#74). This week this song is the greatest gainer by climbing up 20 spots. The other country acts like Luke Bryan with “Crash my party” (#81) or The Henningsens with “American beautiful” (#86) haven’t done bad this week, but there was no way around Hunter Hayes this week.

12 songs debuted this week. Three of these songs debuted within the Top 50. The other new songs are “Dance dance dance” (#78) by James Cottriall, the promotion single “Hymne für dich” (#88, “Hymn for you”) by Sportfreunde Stiller, “Die, die wandern” (#89, “Those who hike”) by Rainhard Fendrich, “Goodbye song” (#90) by Aurea, the winning single of DSDS “Mein Herz” (#94, “My heart”) by Beatrice Egli which is the first winning single from DSDS I like, “I’ll follow you” (#95) by Shinedown, “Caméléon” (#96, Chameleon) by Shy’M, “Stay young” (#98) by Jan Oliver and “Tonight” (#99) by Galavant.

Week 118 – June 01^st, 2013

Nothing is new at the top spot of my chart. Pink and Lily Rose Cooper don’t give up #1 for a fourth week in a row. So once more Kelly Clarkson’s “People like us” is only at the runner’s up position. Canadian country band Autumn Hill is completing the podium. “Can’t keep waiting” is the band’s first Top 3 hit and the 2nd Top 10 hit since their debut at the end of last year. Behind this top songs are raising new English star Tich with her catchy anthem “Tumb” (#4) and German Bosse with “Schönste Zeit”. Only one song left the Top 10 this week. It’s the Austrian song for the Eurovision Song Contest. “Shine” (#13) dropped four spots. Natália Kelly was replaced by Matt Cardle who scored a 5th Top 10 hit with “It’s only love” (#10).

New songs are trying to reach the Top 10 this week. While Tich has a Top 10 hit with “Dumb” she reached a good position with “Breathe in, breathe out” (#11) from her “Candlelight EP”. Also climbing up is new Swedish singer Manda. “Sweetest heartbreak” (#12) climbed up five spots to a new peak. And not to forget about Christina Aguilera’s country duet with Blake Shelton. Their song “Just a fool” (#14) is finally in an outsider position to reach the Top 10, but who knows maybe they get in there by next week. Six weeks after leaving the Top 10 Alanis Morissette’s “Receive” (#19) is still in the Top 20 in it’s 32nd week.

Looking for the highest debut you have to go down the chart. It comes from a new Austrian singer. She released her debut single under the alias Marla Blumenblatt. There isn’t a lot I know about her at the moment. But one thing I really know is that I like her retro pop song “Cornetto” (#41). The song about the ice cream brings me summer feelings. This is absolutely necessary because when I’m looking outside the window the weather looks like I’m deep in the autumn of October or November.

The 2nd best new entry comes from a well-known artist over the last year. Ben Montague placed the last songs from his album “Overcome” on my chart. The highest of his four new entries is “Never enough” (#51) which could end within the Top 20 within the next weeks. His other new entries are “Broken” (#77), “Jennifer” (#91) and “Did you know it” (#92). Between these songs hides the greatest gainer of the week. “Not afraid” is a fresh song from unknown Lithuanian singer GJan.

Sometimes it took a while before I’m charting a song. This week there are debuts of two songs which are already big hits in Austria and Germany or even worldwide. Let’s start with “Bilder im Kopf” (“Pictures in my head”, #72) by Sido. This song is nearly a half year in the Austrian chart and peaked at #2. Most of the songs by Sido I didn’t like so I didn’t gave this one a chance until this week. It has a catchy refrain so now I can understand why this song is his biggest hit up-to-date. The other song comes from Justin Timberlake. “Suit & Tie” wasn’t absolutely my song and the first listen to “Mirrors” (#89) lead me in the same direction. But massive Austrian radio airplay helped both songs to get my attention. However I’m not always late. Nearly two years ago Capital Cities gave their chart debut with “Safe and sound”. In September 2011 it peaked at #10. At the moment this song reached #1 in Germany and #2 in Austria.

The rest of the 12 debuts are “Every little thing” (#83) by Eric Clapton, the David Guetta cover of “Titanium” (#84) by Within Temptation, “One life” (#86) by Madcon feat. Kelly Rowland, “Blind” (#88) by Hurts and “You don’t have the right to cry” (#95) by Kristina Maria
