Week 610 – November 5^th, 2022

Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen got another week at the top with her smash “Talking to yourself” (#1). Behind is now a song by Pale Waves. Their song “Clean” (#2) climbed up one spot and swapped the spot with “Fette wilde Jahre” (#3, “Big wild years”) by Juli. Also swapping their spots are two more songs by Pale Waves. “Reasons to live” is now at #4 and former #1 “Jealousy” at #5.
Not far behind is “Into it” (#6) by Esther Graf. For the moment she is my personal Austrian star with lots of hits in her pocket. “Forget me” (#7) by Lewis Capaldi climbed up two spots. Italian singer Annalisa is holding the spot with “Bellissima” (#8, “Extremely beautiful”). Up one spot is “Dancing in the kitchen” (#9) by LANY. Esther Graf’s “Wie mein Herz bricht” (#10, “How my heart breaks”) dropped four spots.

This week the greatest gainer climbed up 24 spots. Mimi Webb is awarded for “Ghost of you”. As the Top 20 is growing a little bit old this song has really the chance to reach the Top 10. Last week Taylor Swift debuted just outside the Top 20 with “Anti-Hero” (#16). This week it reached the Top 20 easily and Taylor Swift once more scored the highest new entry. “Bejeweled” (#45) did well, but failed to impress as much as “Anti-Hero”. Directly behind you can find the 2nd best new entry with “Never gonna not dance again” (#46). I like this song, but I’m not sure if this one will do as well as most of her other singles. So only time will tell. The third best debut is by German duo LEA X LINDA. Don’t be confused. This LEA isn’t the LEA which dominated my chart in the last years. Their song “Keine Liebe” (#59, “No love”) is finally their entry to my chart.

Back at the top are British band Pale Waves. Their 3rd #1 in 2022 is “Clean” (#1) which climbed up one spot. It changed the spot with last week’s #1 song “Talking to yourself” (#2) by Carly Rae Jepsen. “Fette wilde Jahre” (#3, “Big wild years”) by German band Juli is completing the podium. New in the Top 5 is Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi. His song “Forget me” (#4) climbed up three spots. Down one spot is “Reasons to live” (#5) by Pale Waves. This song is their only Top 10 hit which failed to reach #1 so far.

Still knocking at the door to the Top 5 is “Into it” (#6) by Esther Graf. Directly behind is former #1 “Jealousy” (#7) by Pale Waves which left the Top 5 this week. Next in line is highest new song in the Top 10. Climbing up eight spots is “Anti-Hero” (#8) by Taylor Swift. As this is the youngest song in this part of the chart there is a high chance for seeing this song in the next few weeks at the top of the chart. Italian singer Annalisa dropped two spots with her recent single “Bellissima” (#9, “Extremely beautiful”). This song is caught between two new songs in this part of the chart. The other one is “Süße Träume” (#10, “Sweet dreams”) by CÉLINE. For her this is her 2nd Top 10 hit after “Überall” (“All Over”, peaked at #8 in January 2021).

The award for the greatest gainer goes to “Past life” (#60) by Arkells feat. Cold War Kids. This song is growing on me and should end in the Top 40 at least. The highest debut is by Australian singer Amy Shark. She returns very strong with “Only wanna be with you” (#45). Hopefully this one is her 1st Top 10 hit since “I said hi” back in 2018. The 2nd best new song is “Where do we go from here?” (#57) by MisterWives. This song is the B-side to “Easy” which recently reached the Top 20.

Week 612 – November 19^th, 2022

This week is starting with a little surprise. Clean Waves didn’t defend their crown with “Clean” (#2) which dropped one spot. It was outperformed by Taylor Swift’s single “Anti-Hero” (#1). This song climbed up seven spots which has been the biggest climbed to #1 in a while. When I first listened to “Anti-Hero” I haven’t tough that this will be the next thing, but now it is. The podium completing is “Talking to yourself” (#3) by Carly Rae Jepsen. This song dropped one spot as “Fette wilde Jahre” (#4, “Big wild years”) by Juli and “Forget me” (#5) by Lewis Capaldi.

Dropping out of the Top 5 is “Reasons to live” (#6) by Pale Waves. This means that they only have one Top 5 hit with “Clean” for the moment. Directly behind you can find my actual Country #1 “Reckless” (#7) by Morgan Wade. This song reached the Top 10 after climbing up four spots. Next in line is “Jealousy” (#8) by Pale Waves. This former #1 is on its way out of the Top 10. “Jealousy” is followed by another new song in the Top 10. German singer LEA returned with the album cut “Gewitter” (#9, “Thunderstorm”). Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is “Into it” (#10) by Esther Graf.

Speaking about Austrian singer Esther Graf leads me directly to this week’s greatest gainer. She has been awarded for “Würde es auch tun” (#56; “Would do it too”) which climbed up 21 spots in its 5th charting week. As always, this information is followed by the information about the highest debut. This week it is by an unknown German artist; at least for me. Since the end of 2021 German singer 1986zig is releasing songs, mostly via TikTok. He had his breakthrough earlier this year with “Kopf aus” (“Head out”) which reached #3 in Germany but failed to enter my chart. Three weeks ago, he entered my chart for the first time with the help of Silbermond. Their song “Nie wieder schlafen” (#54, “Never sleep again”) failed to reach the Top 50 until know and is in my eyes not Silbermond’s best song. Now he released his new single “Danke” (#20, “Thank you”) which debuted directly in the Top 20. What should I say. I fell in love with this particular song, and I can absolutely understand why his voice is compared with German star Herbert Grönemeyer. If he is continuing than we will see more by him in the future.

Two more songs are debuting in the Top 50. The 2nd highest debut is by German band Juli who recently reach #1 with “Fette wilde Jahre”. Their new one “Der Sommer ist vorbei” (#47, “The summer is over”) is good, but not as good as their recent #1 smash. The other one is “Lose you” (#48). This one is a cooperation between Afrojack and James Arthur. “Lose you” could be their biggest hit on my chart.

Other debuts are “Silver tongues” (#59) by Louis Tomlinson, “Get over you” (#60) by Dylan Conrique, “Trying not to” (#78) by Alana Springsteen feat. Week 613 – November 26^th, 2022

The 1st weekend in the Advent is mostly over and I have to announce that “Anti-Hero” (#1) by Taylor Swift is still topping the chart. In the hunt are two former #1’s. Pale Waves’ “Clean” (#2) is the runner-up and “Talking to yourself” (#3) by Carly Rae Jepsen is completing the podium. For the first time in the Top 5 is “Reckless” (#4) by Morgan Wade who re-released her former single “The night” and the follow up “The night (Part 2)”. As I’m on the Morgan Wade train since her release of the album “Reckless” you should be aware that these are potential debuts in the very near future. Next in line is former #1 “Fette wilde Jahre” (#5, “Big wild years”).

Dropping out of the Top 5 is “Forget me” (#6) by Lewis Capaldi. He failed to reach #1 again, but this one is still a good song. Up two spots is LEA with her album cut “Gewitter” (#7, “Thunderstorm”). For the first time in the Top 10 is Mimi Webb. Her song “Ghost of you” (#8) climbed up seven spot to reach a spot in this part of the chart. “Reasons to live” (#9) by Pale Waves is down three spots and should be seen for the last time in this part which means that by next week there is only one song by Pale Waves in the Top 10. This song is caught between two new songs in the Top 10. While “Ghost of you” is higher ranked the other one is by German newcomer 1986zig. His song “Danke” (#10, “Thank you”) climbed up ten spots in its 2nd charting week.

As always after the Top 10 lets talk about the greatest gainer of the week. It is a song from Taylor Swift’s version of her album “Red”. “Girl at home” (#20) climbed up 23 spots in its 4th week on chart and should be seen in the Top 10 very soon. For the highest new entry you have to dig a little bit deeper. It is “I’m a mess” (#44) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD from her recently released deluxe version of “Love sux”. I really love this one and a Top 10 position isn’t far away. The 2nd highest debut is by Austrian singer Revelle. Her song “Ich vermiss dich <3” (“I miss you <3”) is in at #57. This song is followed by the new Tom Gregory song “Forget somebody” (#58).

Week 614 – December 3^rd, 2022

For another week Taylor Swift is topping the chart with her recent smash “Anit-Hero” (#1). This one is definitely a song I like while I’m still not sure about her album “Midnights”. This song is followed by “Talking to yourself” (#2) by Carly Rae Jepsen which bounced back and left “Clean” (#3) by Pale Waves back. “Reckless” (#4) – my Country #1 – by Morgan Wade is holding its spot as well as “Fette Wilde Jahre” (#5, “Big wild years”) by Juli.

Up two spots and knocking at the door to the Top 5 is British singer Mimi Webb with “Ghost of you” (#6). Holding its spot is “Gewitter” (#7, “Thunderstorm”) by LEA. Last week 1986zig celebrated his premier in the Top 10. This week his song “Danke” (#8, “Thank you”) climbed up two spots. Now two new songs in the section are following. The higher ranked one is “Met you” (#9) by Morgan Wade. This song is in its 9th charting week and I’m not sure who long this song will stay in the Top 10. The other one is “Bejeweled” (#10) by Taylor Swift. I like this one, but as I’ve pointed out before the album is another question.

For the greatest gainer and the highest debut, you have to go down the chart. “Crazy angels” (#70) by Carrie Underwood climbed up 14 spots and is awarded with the greatest gainer. Three spots below you can find the highest debut which is “Superhuman” (#73) by Bishop Briggs who had some Top 10 hits in her pocket. Other debuts are “Grey’s Anatomy” (#77) by Franzi Harmsen, “Can’t go back” (#78) and “Illuminate” (95) by PRIZM – these are the last songs from their debut album “All night” –, “Don’t let go” (#82) by The Ghost Club, “Thank god we broke up” (#84) by Julia Cole, “Locked on you” (#85) by Kito & Broods, “Nightshift” (#91) by Bruce Springsteen, “Rain” (#92) by Mina Okabe, “Miss you” (#94) by The Last Arcade and “A$$A$$IN” (#97) by Beauty School Dropout.

Week 615 – December 10^th, 2022

Nothing new at the top at my chart. Taylor Swift is still reigning with her hymn “Anti-Hero” (#1). New at the runner’s up spot is Morgan Wade with “Reckless” (#2). Dropping one spot and closing this week’s Top 3 is “Talking to yourself” (#3) by Carly Rae Jepsen. For the first time in the Top 5 is Mimi Webb. Her song “Ghost of you” (#4) climbed up two spots. This one is followed by former #1 “Fette wilde Jahre” (#5, “Big wild years”) by Juli.

For the first time in weeks there is no song by Pale Waves in the Top 5. The reason is that “Clean” (#6) dropped three spots and is now out. German singer 1986zig climbed up one spot with “Danke” (#7, “'Thank you”). Maybe he will enter the Top 5 or more soon. 1986zig is followed by Taylor Swift with her song “Bejeweled” (#8). Although I like this song I don’t have the feeling that “Bejeweled” will ever reach #1 as “Anti-Hero”. Next in line is another one by Taylor Swift. This time it is “Girl at home” (#9) from her version of “Red”. And last but not least is “Gewitter” (#10, “Thunderstorm”) by LEA.

Last week “Crazy angels” (#55) by Carrie Underwood was awarded with the greatest gainer after climbing up 14 spots. This week she did again with “Crazy angels”. This time after climbing up 15 spots. German singer LEA returns with another non album single. “In Flammen” (#34, “In flames”) is this week’s highest new entry. She returns very strong and should do well with this song. The 2nd highest debut is also from Germany. This time it is Glasperlenspiel. They had their heydays about seven years ago when they reached the Top 3 in Austria, Germany and of course Austria with “Geiles Leben” (“An amazing life”). This song is not bad, but on my chart only peaked at #97 and charted for one week. My favourite song by them is “Für immer” (“Forever”) which peaked at #6 in December 2016, but failed to enter the charts in the DACH-region. Now the return with “Sunglasses” (#56) where the use the refrain of Corey Hart’s 1980’s hit “Sunglasses at night”. This time the interpolation works for me, but I recently had to admit in front of my colleagues that am not on the bandwagon for “I’m good (blue)” because I prefer the 1990’s hit “Blue” by Eiffel 65.

Other debuts are “Pointless” (#57) by Lewis Capaldi, “Fieber” (#77, “Fever”) and “Glatteis” (#80, “Glaze”) by Nina Chuba, “Sbagliata ascendente leone” (#84, “”) by Emma, “Crazy” (#88) by KATI K & ROTE MÜTZE RAPHI – another song which uses interpolation, this time “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley –, “Drinking to remember” (#90) by Maddie & Tae, “Hurts like hell” (#93) by Wrabel feat. Sadie Jean and “Break up with that guy.” (#98) by Virginia To Vegas.

Week 616 – December 17^th, 2022

Once again Taylor Swift is celebrating at the top of the chart with “Anti-Hero” (#1). For now five weeks this song is topping the chart, but there is an end in sight. New in the Top 3 are two songs. First to mention is the climb of five spots by German singer 1986zig. His song “Danke” (#2) from his recently released debut album “Zweite Chance” (“Second chance”) is his 1st song in the Top 3 and has definitely a chance to reach to top spot, if … . Yes there is a big if, because of the fact there is a new entry directly in the Top 3. It is the 2nd time in 2022 that a song is entering the Top 5 in this debut week. The first time in 2022 had been in September when Juli returned and debuted at #5 with “Fette wilde Jahre” (#9, “Big wild years”). Later this song topped the chart for four weeks. This week German rap singer JuJu debuted in the Top 3 with her recent single “Nie wieder sehen” (#3, “Never see again”). This is the first time since 2019 when she reached #6 with “Hi babe” and also #6 with “Vermissen” (“Miss”) feat. Henning May. Most of her other songs failed to enter my chart. “Nie wieder sehen” could be her 1st #1 on my chart late in 2022 or early in 2023. Next in line are “Ghost of you” (#4) by Mimi Webb and last week’s runner-up “Reckless” (#5) by Morgan Wade.

Up three spots and on its way into the Top 5 is “Girl at home” (#6) by Taylor Swift. Dropping out of the Top 3 is “Talking to yourself” (#7) by Carly Rae Jepsen. I still love this song, but there are only a handful of weeks in the Top 10 in the pocket for this song. Generally, this song is caught between two songs by Taylor Swift. The other one is “Bejeweled” (#8). Two former #1’s are rounding out this week’s Top 10. The higher ranked one is the mentioned “Fette wilde Jahre”. The other one is “Clean” (#10) by Pale Waves.

Two songs are awarded with the award for the greatest gainer of the week. The higher ranked one is by singer/actress Dylan Conrique. Her song “Get over you” (#27) climbed up 13 spots to reach the Top 30. The other one is “Fieber” (#64, “Fever”) by Nina Chuba. Between these two songs you can find the 2nd highest debut which is “Creepin’” (#47) by Metro Boomin, The Weeknd & 21 Savage. This debut is definitely one you couldn’t have expected, but I really like what they did with “I don’t wanna know”. For Metro Boomin and 21 Savage this is their chart debut although they had hits since the early 2010’s, but normally their songs aren’t my cup of tea.

Merry Christmas to everyone. This week brings a new song at the top of the chart. In its 2nd week on chart JuJu is taking over for the first time in her career. Her song “Nie wieder sehen” (#1, “Never see again”) climbed up two spots. Two weeks ago I’ve never thought about having JuJu at the top, but now it is a fact. Holding its spot is 1986zig with “Danke” (#2, “Thank you”). Maybe this song will take over in 2023, but for now there is no way for “Danke” to reach #1. Dropping two spots is former #1 “Anti-Hero” (#3) by Taylor Swift. It is the highest ranked of three songs by her in the Top 5. The other ones are “Girl at home” (#4) and “Bejeweled” (#5).

Taylor Swift replaced with her songs “Ghost of you” (#6) by Mimi Webb and “Reckless” (#7) by Morgan Wade. These songs are followed by former #1 “Talking to yourself” (#8) by Carly Rae Jepsen. Next in line are two new songs in this part of the chart. The higher ranked one is “Kiss me like the world is ending” (#9) by Avril Lavigne. The other one is the 4th song by Taylor Swift in the Top 10. “Come back … be here” (#10) climbed up one spot to reach a spot in the Top 10.

Week 618 – December 31^st, 2022

On the one hand there are a lot of new entries with edition 618. On the other hand there is little movement within the top part of the chart. German rap singer JuJu is holding the #1 with “Nie wieder sehen” (“Never see again”). This German #1 is followed by German song “Danke” (#2, “Thank you”) by 1986zig. The podium completing is five time #1 “Anti-Hero” (#3) by Taylor Swift. As you surely have noticed the whole Top 3 isn’t moving this week. In total the Top 5 are non-moving. So still at #4 is “Girl at home” and at #5 “Bejeweled”. Both songs are also by Taylor Swift.

For the first time in the Top 10 is “I’m mess” (#6) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD. This song climbed up seven spots. For British singer YUNGBLUD it is his first appearance in the Top 10. Down one spot is “Ghost of you” (#7) by Mimi Webb while this one is followed by another song in the Top 10 which is non-moving. It is former #1 “Talking to yourself” (#8) by Carly Rae Jepsen. The 4th highest ranked song by Taylor Swift “Come back … be here” (#9) climbed up one spot. Morgan Wade is definitely on her way out. “Reckless” (#10) dropped three spots.

As last week Morgan Wade’s re-released single “The night” (#30) is awarded with the greatest gainer after climbing up 23 spots. Directly behind you can find the highest debut. It is “Surrender my heart” (#31) by Carly Rae Jepsen. There is a big chance for the song ending in the Top 10 as “Talking to yourself” did in the past. Another #1 by her? Maybe, by here I can’t say anything specific. Only one other song reached a debut within the Top 50. It is by German singer Kim Petras who recently had a big smash with Sam Smith on “Unholy” which failed to enter my chart. Her song “If Jesus was a rockstar” (#42) is doing well in its 1st charting week and could be a contender for a spot in the Top 20 at least.

Week 619 – January 7^st, 2023

It’s definitely a surprise that JuJu is still topping the chart with her single “Nie wieder sehen” (#1, “Never see again”). I’m not a big fan of her work, but this song has something special for me. Still in the hunt is “Danke” (#2, “Thank you”) by German 1986zig. Here is the big question if this song will ever reach #1 or if it will be blocked at #2 forever. Rounding out this week’s non-moving Top 3 is “Anti-Hero” (#3) by Taylor Swift. For the first time in the Top 5 can be found “I’m a mess” (#4) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD. Two spots down is “Girl at home” (#5) by Taylor Swift which is still her highest ranked one which never reached #1.

Looking at the next song I’m sure you will be surprised. Carly Rae Jepsen is climbing up again with her former #1 “Talking to yourself” (#6). I haven’t seen such a thing on my chart in a while. Next in line is former Top 5 hit “Bejeweled” (#7) by Taylor Swift. Directly behind you can find the highest of two new songs in this part of the chart. It is “In Flammen” (#8, “In flames”) by LEA. The next one is “Ghost of you” (#9) by Mimi Webb. Still a good song, but I think this week could be the last Top 10 week for this song. Also, this song is caught between the new songs in the Top 10. The 2nd one is “Get over you” (#10) by Dylan Conrique. For her this is a debut.

The award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to “Unwanted” (#49) by Pale Waves. This song climbed up 32 spots in its 2nd charting week. Not far behind is the highest debut. It is “Put a light on me” (#51) by Sam Ryder. Until now he had some success including the #2 hit “Space man” in the UK. Now his song “Put a light on me” is getting significant airplay all over Europe although this song hasn’t been released as a regular single, but this is only a matter of time. It failed to enter the Top 50 only by one spot. The 2nd highest debut is by US singer Leah Kate. She rose to fame in 2022 when she released “10 things I hate about you” which failed to enter my chart. This week she got her debut with “Life sux” (#58).

Unfortunately I had problems with the forum, so that I'm posting my latest chart just now.

A longer run at the top spot has “Nie wieder sehen” (#1, “Never see again”) by JuJu. It’s the longest running rap song at the top of my chart. Still in the hunt is “Danke” (#2, “Thank you”) by 1986zig. For the first time in the Top 3 is “I’m a mess” (#3) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD. The swapped spots with former #1 “Anti-Hero” (#4) by Taylor Swift. It’s her highest ranked one among three songs by her in the Top 10. New in the Top 5 is “In Flammen” (#5, “In flames”) by LEA.

“Girl at home” (#6) by Taylor Swift dropped out of the Top 5. Also, down one spot is “Talking to yourself” (#7) by Carly Rae Jepsen after climbing up last week. Dylan Conrique is swimming on a big wave with her song “Get over you” (#8). “Bejeweled” (#9) by Taylor Swift and “Ghost of you” (#10) by Mimi Webb are on their way out of this part of the chart.

This week my chart slowed down. So, the greatest gainer of the week only climbed up 13 spots. The award goes to three different songs. First to mention is “If Jesus was a rockstar” (#24) by Kim Petras. Could this song be her 1st Top 10 smash? Still not sure, but possible. PRIZM’s song “Can’t go back” (#25) is also awarded. And last but not least “ ‘this the damn season” (#61) by Taylor Swift got the award too. The highest debut didn’t reach the Top 80. It is “All the way” (#81) by PRIZM.

Week 621 – January 21^st, 2023

This is absolutely unexpected. My #1 still is the #1 as in the weeks before. JuJu is topping the chart for now five weeks with her song “Nie wieder sehen” (“Never see again”) and for the moment there is no song in sight which could take over. Could this be the longest lasting #1 since I’ve started charting back in 2011? Actually 2013/14 #1 hit “L’amore non mi basta” (“Love is not enough”) by Italian singer Emma is holding the record for topping the chart for nine consecutive weeks. Four more weeks to go for “Nie wieder sehen” and JuJu could tie the record. Behind this song is “I’m a mess” (#2) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD. Although I like this one, I don’t see it at #1 at all. This song swapped the spot with “Danke” (#3) by 1986zig. The next two songs in the Top 5 are non-moving. Still at #4 is “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift and at #5 is “In Flammen” (“In flames”) by LEA.

Heavily knocking at the door to the Top 5 is “Get over you” (#6) by Dylan Conrique. This song is growing more and more on me and so I think that it will get some more weeks in the Top 10 at least. Directly behind you can find “Talking to yourself” (#7) by Carly Rae Jepsen. Maybe this is the songs last week in the Top 10, but who knows. “Girl at home” (#8) by Taylor Swift dropped two spots. Next in line are two new songs in the Top 10. The higher ranked one is “Forget somebody” (#9) by Tom Gregory. The other one is “The night” (#10) by Morgan Wade. This re-released single finally got its spot in the Top 10 nearly four years after its original release.

The award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to “Tattoos” (#55) by Renée Rapp. “Tattoos” climbed up 25 spots and brings Renée Rapp nearly her 1st hit in the Top 50. Beside that it is the 3rd song about “Tattoos” reaching at spot in the upper part of the chart within a year. Last year “Tattoos” by Karly Scott Collins and “Von dir ein Tattoo” (“A tattoo of you”) by Austrian singer Josh. entered the Top 10. Maybe Renée Rapp is joining this club. As always, this information is followed by the information about the highest debut. This week there are three songs debuting in the Top 50. The highest one is “Flowers” (#43) by Miley Cyrus. This song is different to her other songs and most of the songs I chart. I absolutely love it. The debut just outside the Top 40 is just a start and she should soon reach the Top 20 or more. Directly behind Irish singer Dermot Kennedy is debuting with his song “Kiss me” (#44). Sure here I’m really late, but this song is getting more and more airplay in Austria and so it is no wonder that this song has re-entered the Austrian chart after nearly two months and now Dermot Kennedy can be found on my chart too. The 3rd highest debut is by British singer Frey Ridings. She is best known for her 2019 hit single “Castles”. Now she returns very strong with her song “Weekends” (#45).

Week 622 – January 28^th, 2023

Still topping the chart is “Nie wieder sehen” (#1, “Never see again”) by German singer JuJu. Only a handful of songs topped the chart longer than this one. All time #1 is “Receive” by Alanis Morissette which stayed for 10 weeks at the top. The only time before a song in German topped the chart for six weeks had been back in 2016 with Luxuslärm feat. Max Mutzke and their song “Bis es weh tut” (“Until it hurts”). One more week and “Nie wieder sehen” is breaking this record. In the hunt are as last week “I’m a mess” (#2) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD and “Danke” (#3, “Thank you”) by 1986zig. Up two spots and for the first time in the Top 5 is “Get over you” (#4) by Dylan Conrique. Holding its spot in the Top 5 is “In Flammen” (#5, “In flames”) by LEA.

For the first time in weeks “Anti-Hero” (#6) by Taylor Swift isn’t in the Top 5 after dropping down two spots. This song is followed by “The night” (#7) by Morgan Wade. Next in line is a double pack by Carly Rae Jepsen. Her higher ranked one is “Surrender my heart” (#8) which climbed up five spots. The other one is the former #1 “Talking to yourself” (#9). Rounding out this weeks Top 10 is “Forget somebody” (#10) by Tom Gregory.

This week Pale Waves are celebrating the award for the greatest gainer of the week with “Alone” (#15) after climbing up 15 spots. The highest debut is debuted outside the Top 50. It is the new single by Mimi Webb. Her song “Red flags” landed at #53. Not far behind Japanese band XG got their debut. Although they are based in South Korea the members of XG are all from Japan. Their song “Shooting star” (#56) did very well in its first week on chart.

Other debuts are “People pleaser” (#78) by Cat Burns, “Therapie” (#78, “Therapy”) by Zoë Tauran, “Lamette” (#79, “Razor blades”) by Rose Villain feat. Week 623 – February 4^th, 2023

The top 2 is the same as last week. JuJu is topping the chart with “Nie wieder sehen” (#1, “Never see again”) for now seven weeks. For now three weeks is “I’m a mess” (#2) by Avril Lavigne & YUNGBLUD at the runner’s up spot. New in the Top 3 is “The night” (#3) by Morgan Wade. Is there a chance for topping the chart? I don’t know if this re-released single is able to do the last step, but it isn’t impossible. Also holding its spot in the Top 5 is “Get over you” (#4) by Dylan Conrique. Up three spots and for the first time in the Top 5 is “Surrender my heart” by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Directly behind and for the first time in the Top 10 another song by Pale Waves can be found. It is “Unwanted” (#6) which reached this part of the chart after a seven-spot climb. Dropping four spots is “Danke” (#7, “Thank you”) by 1986zig. I love this one, but unfortunately it failed to reach #1. Also dropping out of the Top 5 is “In Flammen” (#8, “In flames”) by LEA. Another song dropping is “Anit-Hero” (#9) by Taylor Swift. Maybe this song will drop out of the Top 10 by next week, but normally “Anti-Hero” should get at least one more week.

This week the award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to two songs. The higher ranked one is “Monsters” (#33) by Camylio. The other one is “All the way” (#37) by PRIZM. These songs climbed up 15 spots. The highest debut is by German band Silbermond. Their song “Wenn’s am schönsten ist” (#49, “When it’s most beautiful”) just debuted inside the Top 50, but here I see very bright future. Normally you can find the climbing up the chart next week. Directly behind you can find a debut by Morgan Wade. This time with the album cut “Carry me home” (#50) from the deluxe version of her album “Reckless” which has been my most played album in 2022.

1. JuJu – Nie wieder sehen (5 weeks in 2023; 2 weeks in 2022, eng. “Never see again“)

Week 624 – February 11^th, 2023

Finally new concurrence for the top spot had arrived. Still topping the chart – now for eight consecutive weeks – is JuJu with her smash “Nie wieder sehen” (#1, “Never see again”). Up four spots into the runner’s up spot is “Unwanted” (#2) by Pale Waves. They could get the first #1 in 2023 which isn’t by JuJu. Holding its spot is “The night” (#3) by Morgan Wade. Behind Carly Rae Jepsen with “Surrender my heart” (#4) and “Get over you” by Dylan Conrique swapped the spots.

All the way down from #2 is “I’m a mess” (#6) by Avril Lavigne & YOUNGBLUD. Directly behind you can find the only new song in the Top 10. It is another one by Pale Waves. Their song “Alone” (#7) climbed up four spots to reach a spot in this part of the chart. Next in line is “If Jesus was a rockstar” (#8) by Kim Petras. For her this is her 1st Top 10 hit and definitely her favourite as her biggest hit “Unholy” with Sam Smith failed to enter my chart. At #9 is five time #1 “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is “Danke” (#10, “Thank you”) by 1986zig. This song is dropping fast as it has been at #3 two weeks ago.

The award for the greatest gainer goes to “Flowers” (#11) by Miley Cyrus. This song sounds older due to its disco-pop and funk sound, but it is growing fast on me. Maybe this song will enter the Top 5 in the next week and then who knows. The highest debut is “Like a saviour” (#28) by Ellie Goulding. It’s a long time since she last did as well as with this song. It’s not the only song debuting in the Top 50. Two more songs managed to do so. The second-best debut is by Canadian singer Ali Gatie. His song “The look” (#41) – it’s no cover of the Roxette classic – could bring him in the Top 10 again. This time with the help by Kehlani. Directly behind you can find the debut “Sag nicht sorry” (#42, “Don’t say sorry”) by LEA which is an album cut from “Fluss” (“River”).
