[glow=green,2,300]#50[/glow] (#40) Bon Jovi - Misunderstood (25 weeks, #7) This was the song that brought Bon Jovi back into the top 10 on my chart after the #11 peak of "Everyday". It'll do quite well on my year end chart.
[glow=green,2,300]#49[/glow] (#37) Sixpence None The Richer - Don't Dream It's Over (17 weeks, #12) It's always interesting to hear the original again after getting adjusted to the remake. Sixpence's remake has refreshed my interest in the Crowded House original.
[glow=green,2,300]#48[/glow] (#57) Rob64 - I Can't Wait (5 weeks, #48) There hasn't been a user song in my top 40 since MB left with "All I Need" last September. I think this will return user songs to a position of greatness on my chart.
[glow=green,2,300]#47[/glow] (#52) Ashanti - Rock Wit U (5 weeks, #47) It's better than I expected from Ashanti, I'm not really a fan of hers but "Foolish" got to #14 last year, and she's had a couple of collaborations with Ja Rule get to #21. Expect a top 40 entrance soon.
[glow=green,2,300]#46[/glow] (#48) Third Eye Blind - Blinded (When I See You) (10 weeks, #46) It's good to see them back, I liked a lot of their earlier stuff, and this new one's doing well so far. Hasn't really caught on like some of their other stuff, though.
[glow=green,2,300]#45[/glow] (#50) Sugar Ray - Mr. Bartender (It's So Easy) (5 weeks, #45) Another band from the late 90's making a return in 2003. Sounds a lot different from their typical sound, but I still like it.
[glow=green,2,300]#44[/glow] (#49) Frankie J - Don't Wanna Try (5 weeks, #44) A nice and simple song that has the power to move someone emotionally. I'm not sure what else to expect from Frankie J in the future.
[glow=green,2,300]#43[/glow] (#35) Good Charlotte - The Anthem (15 weeks, #35) Looks like they peaked at #35 last week. Maybe the next single will do better.
[glow=green,2,300]#42[/glow] (#33) Melanie Doane - Still Desire You (18 weeks, #11) It's getting a little tiring, but was still her biggest hit to date on my chart.
[glow=green,2,300]#41[/glow] (#39) Counting Crows - Big Yellow Taxi (23 weeks, #3) I never would've expected a remake of "Big Yellow Taxi" to do as well as it has. They did Joni Mitchell justice with a pretty good remake.

[glow=green,2,300]#40[/glow] (#34) T.A.T.U. - All The Things She Said (33 weeks, 3 weeks @ #1) The Russian lesbians have become a prominent force in music in 2003, with one of the biggest songs of the year so far. Should be top 10 year end.
[glow=green,2,300]#39[/glow] (#31) Madonna - American Life (9 weeks, #14) Disappointing peak for Madonna, but looks like "Hollywood" will be rising soon.
[glow=green,2,300]#38[/glow] (#26) TLC - Damaged (15 weeks, #9) They've been damaged as they drop 12 more spots. Good to see they've continued making music since Left Eye's death, and this song proves they still can.
[glow=green,2,300]#37[/glow] (#46) Beyoncé f/Jay-Z - Crazy In Love (3 weeks, #37) This song's got a great beat that's typically characteristic of Destiny's Child songs, and Beyoncé's solo career is off to a good start. Just forget about "Work It Out" from last year, which peaked at #89.
[glow=green,2,300]#36[/glow] (#45) Black Eyed Peas f/Justin Timberlake - Where Is The Love (3 weeks, #36) The Black Eyed Peas always have insightful lyrics in their music, and after their 2001 hit with Macy Gray, "Request Line", which peaked at #33, they're back this time with Justin Timberlake. Could end up making the top 10.
[glow=green,2,300]#35[/glow] (#43) All American Rejects - Swing Swing (8 weeks, #35) They've got one of the most unusual names right now, and now they have a big hit!
[glow=green,2,300]#34[/glow] (#44) Michelle Branch - Are You Happy Now? (4 weeks, #34) Strong comeback here for Michelle Branch! I'm not sure if she'll get her 4th straight #1 hit, but it should at least go top 10.
[glow=green,2,300]#33[/glow] (#21) Lucy Woodward - Dumb Girls (17 weeks, #3) One of the surprise hits of the year on Freaky Fly Bry's Top 40, especially compared with its overall flop on radio. It's hard to tell how well the follow-up, "Blindsided", will do.
[glow=green,2,300]#32[/glow] (#42) Foo Fighters - Times Like These (11 weeks, #32) "Times Like These" is now 1 spot higher than the #33 peak of "All My Life". I doubt it'll beat the #10 peak of "Learn To Fly", but they should get another top 25 hit.
[glow=green,2,300]#31[/glow] (#38) Snoop Dogg - Beautiful (12 weeks, #31) I also wasn't expecting Snoop Dogg to make such a comeback, but he's doing well so far. I wouldn't be surprised if he hits a brick wall soon, with all the gaining songs below.

[glow=green,2,300]#30[/glow] (#36) Shania Twain - Forever And For Always (7 weeks, #30) The third single from her latest CD "Up!" will likely go top 20, with more longevity than the title track, but won't do as well as the #1 "I'm Gonna Getcha Good".
[glow=green,2,300]#29[/glow] (#29) Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body (13 weeks, #23) Compared to the previous singles, I'm disappointed in this one. It's the lowest peak ever for a #1 pop hit (#23) on my chart.
[glow=green,2,300]#28[/glow] (#23) 50 Cent - In Da Club (16 weeks, #6) I still like the "It's your birthday" lines in here... not really that sick of it.
[glow=green,2,300]#27[/glow] (#24) 3 Doors Down - When I'm Gone (34 weeks, 4 weeks @ #1) This week's longest running song at 34 weeks, 3 Doors Down has one of the prime contenders for #1 of the year. They could eventually spend 40 weeks in the top 100 at this rate.
[glow=green,2,300]#26[/glow] (#25) Sean Paul - Get Busy (10 weeks, #25) He loses his bullet this week, after 3 weeks at #25.
[glow=green,2,300]#25[/glow] (#25) John Mayer - Why Georgia (14 weeks, #18) It hasn't really had the long-lasting appeal of "No Such Thing" and "Your Body Is A Wonderland", both top 5 hits.
[glow=green,2,300]#24[/glow] (#32) Wayne Wonder - No Letting Go (13 weeks, #24) It's got a good beat, and has the summertime hit feeling to it. Probably top 20 soon.
[glow=green,2,300]#23[/glow] (#30) T.A.T.U. - Not Gonna Get Us (10 weeks, #23) So far, their second single is showing promise. I think it'll go top 10 at least.
[glow=green,2,300]#22[/glow] (#27) Jennifer Lopez - I'm Glad (8 weeks, #22) Her previous 11 (!) singles all reached the top 5. Somehow I doubt this one will follow in the same path, but top 20 is almost a given.
[glow=green,2,300]#21[/glow] (#28) Busta Rhymes f/Mariah Carey - I Know What You Want (12 weeks, #21) They sound good together, and even though Mariah's sounded much better, I enjoy her contributions to Busta's song. Top 20 next week, for sure.

[glow=green,2,300]#20[/glow] (#22)50 Cent - 21 Questions (7 weeks, #20) A fairly strong follow-up to "In Da Club". One time when I was bored, I counted the number of questions in the song, and there were actually 21 questions! So the title doesn't lie! [glow=green,2,300]#19[/glow] (#14)Coldplay - Clocks (24 weeks, #2) They certainly did better than I thought they would, it became their biggest hit to date. I'm going to say top 20 on the year end for sure. [glow=green,2,300]#18[/glow] (#9)Theory Of A Deadman - Make Up Your Mind (11 weeks, #6) I'm getting a little tired of this song too fast. It's still a good song, though. Canada has always had its fair share of good rock bands. [glow=green,2,300]#17[/glow] (#18)Train - Calling All Angels (7 weeks, #17) 3 more spots to go and they've tied the #14 peak of "Meet Virginia". Train should get another top 10, but I doubt "Calling All Angels" will be as big as "Drops of Jupiter". [glow=green,2,300]#16[/glow] (#17)Jewel - Intuition (8 weeks, #16) I'm not catching on as fast as I thought I would. She may be slowing down, but will probably still go top 10. [glow=green,2,300]#15[/glow] (#16)Fleetwood Mac - Peacekeeper (7 weeks, #15) Of all bands to chart in 2003, this was one of the most unexpected comebacks... I didn't think Fleetwood Mac would be back with a top 20 hit. I don't expect them to make top 10, but they've done well so far. [glow=green,2,300]#14[/glow] (#12)Uncle Kracker - Drift Away (16 weeks, #4) Surprisingly, this remake is turning out to be an even bigger hit than the infamous AC smash "Follow Me" here. I expect decent longevity and top 25 on the year end. [glow=green,2,300]#13[/glow] (#11)Nas - I Can (9 weeks, #11) With the Beethoven sample and positive lyrics, it all added up to Nas getting a big hit on my chart. Unfortunately, looks like he just barely missed the top 10, due to the backward bullet this week. [glow=green,2,300]#12[/glow] (#15)Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent (6 weeks, #12) As the hype from Ruben winning American Idol 2 will likely get his song to enter this chart soon, the first winner, Kelly Clarkson, is continuing her success, and will likely earn her 2nd top 10 next week. [glow=green,2,300]#11[/glow] (#13)Jason Mraz - The Remedy (15 weeks, #11) One of 2003's best new artists, he's this year's John Mayer. Top 10 is almost a guarantee next week. Coming next week: THE TOP 10! ;D

Next week? What was I thinking? Now we've made it into the top 10! ;D (15 weeks, #3) Everyone's favourite child molester (TM & ©) holds on to his top 10 placement for what will likely be one last week. (11 weeks, #9) Taking a huge charge up 11 spots to #9, they're a d!ck, they're addicted to you Simple Plan is one of 3 Canadian artists in the top 10 (the others being Avril Lavigne and Lillix), and this is by far their biggest hit to date. (14 weeks, #8) They appear to be stalling, continuing their trend of always peaking in a position that ends in 3 or 8. (12 weeks, #4) As her remake of "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is knocking on the door of the top 100 back in New & Active, her latest release from Let Go drops 3 spots to #7 from her #4 peak. (13 weeks, 1 week @ #1) He managed to sneak in at #1 at just the right time, and now he's on his way down. Aerosmith would be proud of Eminem for using his sample to have a big hit. Anyone care to predict the top 5?

(14 weeks, #4)
She's "stuck" at #5 for the 3rd straight week, she's been either #4 or #5 for the past 6 weeks. I'm sure she'll have a follow-up entering sometime soon.
(24 weeks, 5 weeks @ #1)
The longest running #1 on my chart so far this year, it still gives me the chills whenever I hear it. Definitely one of the prime contenders for #1 song of 2003.
(10 weeks, #3)
Think Avril Lavigne, multiply by 4, and you get Canada's latest export, Lillix. With an Avril-like sound, "It's About Time" rises 3 more to #3 and is looking like a contender for the #1 spot in the weeks to come.
(12 weeks, #2)
I thought Christina would be stalling, but this week takes another surge! Next week, this could be her 3rd straight #1 from Stripped. Great song!
And the #1 song on Freaky Fly Bry's Top 100 for the 2nd straight week is:
(20 weeks, 2 weeks @ #1)
As expected, the smash hit from the Daredevil soundtrack holds on to #1 for the 2nd straight week. I would've thought they'd hold on for a longer time, but now the competition's intense, as Christina and Lillix come in for the challenge.
Now post your charts and join in on the fun! ;D
