I need to have Port 1221 open for my broadcast software, but I can't do it. I have a linksys wrt54g router and when I go to www.radiotoolbox.com/online_tools/cantheygetin.php and put in 1221, I get an error that says: [my ip]:1221 is Closed Reason Given: Connection timed out More about this error: This means that you are most likely behind a firewall, this error esentially says that you and your computer aren't there. You might also check to be sure that your ip is [my ip], if it is not then you are behind some sort of proxy. I can't get any ports to give me an error other than that, even 21, which I know works because I use it for my ftp program. I've had this problem plenty of times and can never figure it out and it sucks. So if anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. BTW [my ip] is really my ip I just don't want to post it for security reasons.

You need to login to your router's control panel to open up that port... The URL to get into your router's settings is usually http://192.168.1.1/ .
Also, are you using any firewall software (other than Windows Firewall)?

It could be trying to forward to the wrong IP address... check your network properties (Start / Run / type in "cmd" / click "ok" / type in "ipconfig" / press enter) and make your local IPv4 address is "192.168.1.101"...
Did it work before today?

Ok, it was 100, not 101.
I haven't been able to get it to work, ever. Today is the first day in a long time that I've actually tried.

change it to forward to 192.168.1.100 in your router's settings, and see if that works...
