It's not instantly catchy as the "Breakaway" album.
"Sober" seems to be the best song on the album, thus far for me.

This album is a little disappointing at first, but I'm gonna give it a chance to grow on me.

Debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200, behind... *gulp* Miley "Hannah Montana" Cyrus. I think the fact that Billboard referred to Hannah Montana as a "top-selling artist" upsets me more than the fact she got #1.

I've listened to the album several times now, but I still can only get thru a handful of these songs.
For me, the best songs on the album are "Sober", "Judas", "One Minute", "Yeah" and "Never Again".
"Don't Waste Your Time", "Irvine" and "Can I Have A Kiss" are absolutely appalling.

I think the fact that Billboard referred to Hannah Montana as a "top-selling artist" upsets me more than the fact she got #1. I'll agree with that 2nd statement, but for a different reason. They can at least refer to her real name instead of a TV personality. That's why it irked me a little when they credited Breaking Free as "Gabriella & Troy" as well as the rest of the HSM songs.

I really think this is Kelly's best piece of work, to date.
The album is not instantly catchy. No, and I know that. Furthermore, it's not her usual made-for-radio stuff. But if you give it an honest shot, listen to the lyrics, pay attention to the emotion in her vocals, you'll see that this album is really great.
When I first got it, I was a bit like "hmm, maybe this wasn't the best decision for her." But the more I listened, the more I fell in love with the album. It's now to the point where this is the only album I play now, pretty much.
I personally love "Maybe" and "Haunted", but the rest of the album is still really great. My least favorite is "How I Feel", but I don't even skip it, I do like it.
I think this is a better album than "Breakaway". Like I read in a review, the album tells a story. You have to listen to it all and put the pieces together.
I don't know what the future of this album is - it's looking bleak right now, with the 2nd single getting no attention and no video having even been mentioned - but I do know that it's an amazing piece of work. I love the rawness of the lyrics, it's so much more personal than the previous effort, which I stand by 100% as well. It's just that this one is the real Kelly Clarkson.
And damn if I'm not impressed.
