This is to be the 4th album from Northern Ireland indie-rock band Snow Patrol released in April 2006.
I loved their 3rd "Final Straw" which was my #2 album of 2004. You might remember it for the tracks "Run", "Chocolate" and "Spitting Games" which were all minor hits in the U.K. during 2004. I can't wait to hear their new stuff and I hope that it doesn't disappoint.
First single is rumoured to be "You're All I Have" out on April 10, 2006 and the first play should be on Radio 1 next week.

Yeah that songs really great. 6 minutes of pure brilliance. Did you not hear any of the rest of the album then? I could upload some of the tracks if you want. All my mates thought it wasn't that good an album but I have to say that apart from the Killers debut it was the best thing out in 2004.

The Killers' debut was just phenomenal. I still listen to it on a regular basis.

Snow Patrol are brilliant. 'Final Straw' was such a breath of fresh air - and beautifully written. I cannot wait to hear new material.

Here's the cover: It got 4 stars (out of 5) in this months Q magazine. Here is the review: The Big Chill - Right on cue, they've secured promotion to the premier league.Funny how things work out. Ten years after mainstays Mark McClelland and Gary Lightbody met at Dundee University, two middling albums with middling sales to match suggested Snow Patrol would play out their days in middling obscurity. Then, in 2004, came Final Straw, with its gorgeous singles Run and Chocolate. To everyone's surprise a decade of toil paid off and two million copies of the album later, the oldest kids on the earnest rock block were its newest success story. They responded in the only way they understood, by touring like men possessed, albeit with bigger dressing rooms than they were used to. Success did not become all of them, and in March 2005, they sacked bassist McClelland after what should have been an all-conquering tour had fractured old bonds. Days later, they reconvened in Ireland to record the successor to Final Straw with new bassist Paul Wilson (plus, just for good measure, a keyboardist, Tom Simpson) and, although such a notion may cut little ice with those who have never had success to follow, discovered what pressure really meant. Less lily-livered than they might have hitherto suggested, Snow Patrol dug deep and whatever the personal fall-out of Lightbody and McClelland's spat, artistically the band have taken a great leap forwards (Open Your Eyes is a sprawling but affecting epic; You Could Be Happy features a glockenspiel), and nobody will mistake them for indie sloggers any more. Essentially, Lightbody has assumed control, built upon Final Straw, focussed his band's approach and set controls for the heart of the charts. The first few seconds of the opening of You're All I Have encapsulate what is to come: a chiming guitar figure such as the Edge once specialised in is joined by Franz Ferdinand-esque choppy guitars and then a celestial choir. After those 23 heady seconds, Lightbody joins in, singing, as is his way, of turning chaos into light. Naturally the chorus is huge, naturally the sentiments are breast-beating and, naturally, once heard a couple of times, it's impossible to shake off. It's not original, but, importantly, it's believable and that conviction separates Snow Patrol from their peers. It's not even the best track here! In fact, its 10 siblings all have much to cherish - this is a proper album, not just some songs - from the glitter stomp of Hands Open to the comfortingly gentle closer The Finish Line, and Snow Patrol are on their way to becoming essential. Funny how things work out sometimes. Written by John Aizlewood Essential tracks: Open Your Eyes, Hands Open, Make This Go On Forever, Shut Your Eyes
