Your points are both well-taken, Ari and Joel. I'm just throwing ideas around. That's all.

(did you know who was Emm Gryner, Bryan?) Not only do I know her but I knew and love that song! It charted on MT40 last year. I also saw her twice in concert. Her latest CD is a cover of songs by Irish artists including a remake of 'Breathless' by the Corrs.

I have Asianblue and I LOVE IT! I didn't know which song take for the contest : Symphonic, Free or Northern Holiday. Symphonic was my first choice, but it was an unofficial single here in a Montreal radio station (Mix 96), so I choose Northern Holiday... You said that you charted it... is it an official single ?

I am really hoping this gets discussed more, cause there are some kind of songs that would never win the contest as it is, but everybody need to listen. I hope more people comment on this idea. In the best of cases, some new format could be implemented, allowing us more chance to submit songs that normally wouldn't win... of course, it seems impossible, but we can dream

One suggestion that I have for next round:
What if we have cumulative point totals to decide who gets eliminated each round? For example, the person who gets eliminated in round 2 is the person whose total score (round 1 + round 2) is the highest of all the others? That way, a person could have a bad round, but still survive thanks to an earlier good round.
Just a thought...

Anyways, what do you guys think about in the future, maybe we can have a specific category for each round. Let's say "Country" for 1 round, where all songs are submitted are country songs or even, maybe even a "Dance" or "Rock" round and so forth? Just throwing an idea around. I know if we incorporate such an idea, it'll have to go thru some modifications, if you will. I think that is a great idea! I'm all for it! ;D

Symphonic was her second single from the album. Northern Holiday wasn't an official single. I consider it one for me though but it's not actually one.

It's sad if someone finished number 1 in 5 rounds, and the next one is eliminated. This method you're proposing sounds really cool to me, I support it

It isn't fair for those who have had crappy rounds in the past, and then comes back really strong. If you can't be constant, that's no one's fault but your own.

In my effort to help people choose different songs, I've decided that there are 3 artists who will recieve automatic last place from me if I hear them in here again.

Well, the point of the game is to submit songs by artists that are relatively unknown so I guess (even tho I'm guilty of it this round) artists that are fairly known shouldn't have their songs submitted.

I calculated cumulative points for the challengers who were playing the round 6. Each round, the positions are changing a little bit, but we already know that Jay or Gerardo will probably win the challenge and there's still 4 rounds to play... so I think this cumulative points idea will stop all the suspense of the game. Round 1 : 1- Adam (37 pts) 2- Jay (41 pts) 3- Kworb (43 pts) 4- Gerardo (55 pts) 5- Joël (66 pts) 6- Mike (79 pts) Round 2 : 1- Adam (76 pts) = 2- Jay (90 pts) = 2- Kworb (90 pts) +14- Joël (101 pts) +15- Gerardo (104 pts) -16- Mike (131 pts) = Round 3 : 1- Adam (107 pts) = 2- Jay (127 pts) = 3- Gerardo (130 pts) +24- Kworb (137 pts) -25- Joël (139 pts) -16- Mike (171 pts) = Round 4 : 1- Adam (144 pts) = 2- Gerardo (159 pts) +13- Kworb (163 pts) +14- Jay (169 pts) -25- Joël (182 pts) = 6- Mike (210 pts) = Round 5 : 1- Adam (165 pts) = 2- Gerardo (180 pts) = 3- Jay (192 pts) +14- Kworb (193 pts) -15- Joël (209 pts) = 6- Mike (231 pts) = Round 6 : 1- Adam (195 pts) = 2- Gerardo (197 pts) = 3- Jay (209 pts) = 4- Kworb (222 pts) = 5- Joël (228 pts) = 6- Mike (240 pts) =
