Round 6 has come to an end! Thanks to everyone for getting your votes to me in a timely manner for this round. I have your results right here. But first, let's reveal who submitted each of the songs last round: Song 1 was Jay's choice, "Evidence" by Everlife Song 2 was Gerardo's choice, "Christine" by Ben Jelen Song 3 was Kworb's choice, "The Swan Song" by Within Temptation Song 4 was Adam's choice, "Emily" by Jewel Song 5 was Joel's choice, "Northern Holiday" by Emm Gryner Song 6 was Mike's choice, "I Wish" by Jem There was one clear winner this round. Here are the INITIAL results: 1. Mike - 9 points 2. Jay - 17 points (tie) 2. Gerardo - 17 points (tie) 4. Joel - 19 points 5. Adam - 20 points 6. Kworb - 29 points HOWEVER, one person did not get their song for this round to me before the one-week deadline, meaning they incurred a 10 point penalty. Now, let's see the final results, including the 10 point penalty: 1. Mike - 9 points 2. Jay - 17 points (tie) 2. Gerardo - 17 points (tie) 4. Joel - 19 points 5. Kworb - 29 points 6. Adam - 30 pointsCongratulations go to Mike as he wins this round easily! Mike got 4 first place rankings. Jay & Gerardo also received 1 first place ranking a piece! Unfortunately, because of his 10 point penalty, Adam becomes the next person eliminated from the game by just ONE point. Sorry Adam! Adam, you're off to join Dan, Bryan, John, & Ari in the jury house. The five of you may continue to vote in future rounds if you wish. As for the rest of you... Congratulations for advancing! You may now begin sending me your song choices for Round 7. You have until 11:59pm Eastern time next Friday to submit your songs to me before you will incur a penalty of 10 points. Please get them to me as soon as possible.

But my favorite song this round was Jay's choice! What a nice song! Thanks for the compliment! I find that song really catchy. Their new song, I'm Over It, is pretty good also. You may hear that in a future contest! I'm still alive!!! Now I need to look for another great song.

Urgh, I didn't vote this round, I completely forgot about the song contest, sorry! I only remembered Friday, when I read Jason's post about getting the votes before the deadline, but since I'm on dial up, I didn't have time to download them all. Next round, I'll vote!

"The Swan Song" did THAT bad? Wow. I probably should've picked a more poppy WT song, but I couldn't help myself. Deep down I thought other people would be able to love it as much as I do.

Wow! I'm slightly surprised I got first place. I never got a clear first place before! Thanks all. The game gets harder each round.

I would appreciate it if some of the songs that are submitted are more varied. Honestly, most of the time I can't tell apart 3-4 of the songs! And this round was no exception. Anyways, what do you guys think about in the future, maybe we can have a specific category for each round. Let's say "Country" for 1 round, where all songs are submitted are country songs or even, maybe even a "Dance" or "Rock" round and so forth? Just throwing an idea around. I know if we incorporate such an idea, it'll have to go thru some modifications, if you will.

I know if we incorporate such an idea, it'll have to go thru some modifications, if you will. I always try to submit unknown artists or unknown songs (did you know who was Emm Gryner, Bryan?). For your proposition... I don't know... people don't have a mp3 bank with 100 000 mp3s (well... maybe they do, but not me!) and 57 different styles. If the next round has this kind of rules, I don't know if I'll be able to play

I really like your idea Bryan, but to be honest, let's look at the past, most of the people who submitted, weird or too different from the usual songs, were eliminated instantly. Even if we play with those rules of generes, people would still vote (I think) in country for example, Shania Twain over Dolly Parton anyday, so it will still be based on the common pop taste this message board has.
If this rule or modification is implemented, I am afraid I also would be left out, cause I don't think I have any rap or soul songs... but cool idea anyway.
