Honestly, that was the best possible result.
Blake didn't need to win, and honestly would have likely been held back if he did. He knew it. I think that's why he allowed Jordin to pick what position she'd rather sing last night. He didn't want to be limited by 19's contract.
On the other hand, Jordin needed Idol to win. Don't get me wrong, she's a fantastic vocalist, but with the distinction of being the American Idol, that's gotta carry a little more weight than just "finished second." I mean, look at poor, young Diana DeGarmo a few years back. Pretty good vocalist, but couldn't sell ice in hell. The title could have helped her career, and I think it will help Jordin.
I'm just pissed we didn't see The Hoff cry again!
Oh, and where was Fantasia? Couldn't read the map to get there? *insert rimshot here* Yes, I made a Fantasia=illiteracy joke. I know I'm going to Hell.

^ - Fantasia's on Broadway, starring in The Color Purple.
It'll be interesting to see who Blake ends up being signed to. I think most of the second place finishers have been signed with 19 anyway. It might have even been better for Blake to finish in 3rd or 4th place. In second place, he could still face his career being controlled by 19. Who knows what they'll end up turning him into if he lets them?

Very happy that Jordin won. I watched the end when she did "This Is My Now", and she really did a great job. Thats a really good song for the finale and first single.

Well Dan if it's any consolation, it made me laugh Guess things happen for a reason. Fantasia didn't ruin the night ( Green Day & Bette Midler did that instead)
