What song is that? Green Day, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" Sorry Josh, but I'm glad Green Day won most of them! BOBD is one of my favorite songs of the year! ;D I didn't watch the awards, but I am not surprised that P. Diddy/Diddy sucked. They never had a good host in a LONG time.

Three pet peeves.
1. My Chemical Romance getting robbed 2. Diddy's hosting duties were atrocious 3. FOB beating MCR.
But I did like the attention Kelly Clarkson got in the big categories. And despite the death stares, Gwen Stefani should be happy with her 2 smaller category wins.
Nice for The Killers as well.

I'm glad that Gwen won her two awards, but I would've liked to have seen her accept two others during the actual telecast (NOT "Video Of The Year," which Green Day clearly deserved).
My favorite performances of the night were Kanye West, Mariah & Co., & Green Day. I alos liked the orchestra thing with Notrious BIG & Snoop. There were other good performances too, but frankly, there were SO MANY performances, it's hard to remember all of them. That was a problem. Too many "surprise" performances.
I agree with Roger. My Chemical Romance is supposed to be the "it" group right now as far as Rock music goes...and to not walk away with any awards seems like a crime.
And might I say (without any ignorant or obnoxious remarks by John or Jess), I didn't like the overall vibe of the awards. Even watching it on TV, there seemed to be so much tension in the crowd of celebrities. I get the feeling that something bad is about to happen. First, Suge Knight gets shot in the leg on Saturday night...then that war of words between Fat Joe & 50 Cent/Tony Yayo. I don't know. You'd think that everyone would remember what happened with Tupac & Biggie. I hope my feeling is wrong.
One last comment:. I've got four words for the VMA organizers: RADIO...CITY...MUSIC...HALL. Please take the show back to NY next year.

These two might be deadset on going at it...so it's probably not that they don't remember, but rather, don't give a damn. If anything, 50 would just revel in such an opportunity - after all, he seems to enjoy reminding us how often he was shot. One of the commercials mentioned quite a few new artists and was MTV-related...does anyone remember what it was for?

I only seen some of this last night because I was baby-sitting.
P. Diddy was a horrible host.
I seen Hilary & Joel walk on stage together. They're cute together.
The Killers performance was hot stuff.
And that's all I remember.

And see, they chose to make the VMA's AGAIN in miami. and the same crap. They better make the VMA's next year in a better place, really. Seems like Miami is crap. Ohh and please another host that DIDDY !! im sad that mariah didnt win ANYTHING ! And christina wasnt there.

I'm a little disappointed by missing most of this year's award show, but judging from the general consensus, I'm assuming I didn't miss much at all.
I saw Mariah Carey perform. I was bored to tears. I thought she was gonna break it down for us!!!
I also caught Kelly Clarkson's performance. Didn't like her performance vocally. I don't know. "Since U Been Gone" isn't a rock song and to add "rock" type vocals to it, didn't really jive well with me. I'm happy she won Best Pop Video, since she really deserved it.
Did Snoop Dogg/Pharrell even win for Best Hip Hop Video? I don't know why it was even up for Video Of The Year. I thought Missy should've been nominated there instead.
Not happy that Green Day walked away with some of the awards. But some of them, they deserved it. Not sure if they should've won Best Group Video or Best Rock Video.
I'm glad to see The Killers take home the Best New Artist In A Video award though.
Anyways, here are some things that made me say...WTF: 1. What the hell was R. Kelly's performance? I mean, holy @#$%. I'm surprised he didn't get booed for lip-syncing. I don't know if people in the audience realized that he was. Hell, we would've seen a 2nd hoe-down of the year. WTF.
2. I was surprised they presented both Best Male & Female Videos together, let alone at the very beginning of the awards show. I thought they would save that until later in the program. It's kind of like presenting the Best Lead Actor/Actress at the very beginning of the Oscars. WTF.
3. Surprise winner Kelly Clarkson beat out Gwen, Mariah, Amerie, and Shakira for Best Female Video. I mean, I do give Kelly all the credit in the world, but I'd thought Best Pop Video would be in the bag for her. Not this one. Another WTF.
4. Destiny's Child presented the Video Of The Year award. Hmmm.....how fitting, since they're supposedly "retiring"? That gives me another WTF.
5. I hope next year's show will be in NYC, instead of Miami. Too bad Hurricane Katrina didn't give Miami a taste of her wrath, since this show seemed to be a big fat mess. WTF.

While I am not a big My Chemical Romance fan, I think they should've gotten at least ONE award. Especially since every morning when I turn on MTV, I see "Helena", at least, once or twice.

"Helena" is a great track and deserves to have won.
Another beef I have is with some of the nominations (like "Lose Control") aren't out long enough for them to win. I don't know what MTV's policy is on how long a video needs to be out, but they need to look at that closer.

I wouldn't say they're the "it" group, because I wouldn't say that there is one "it" group right now. Green Day are the dominant band right now (sort of like Linkin Park for the past two years), and I would even place The Killers above MCR at this time. But to give Fallout Boy the MTV2 Award over MCR is questionable... One last comment:. I've got four words for the VMA organizers: RADIO...CITY...MUSIC...HALL. Please take the show back to NY next year. Not in the foreseeable future. I'm told that they have to obtain a permit from Mayor Bloomberg, which he won't give them. He's also restricted their use of Times Square. So either get used to Miami or start begging for another city...

It's not even the fact that MTV always plays 'Helena'. Its the fact that the video is mother-'effin brilliant.
I mean, choreography in a funeral? The colors. The everything. It's freakin' genius man
