Poor Season Still Produces No Winner
You could very easily argue that Survivor: Africa was probably the weakest series in the Survivor set. This was mainly due to location, as Kenya didn't exactly allow many of us to see women in bikinis or, well, water at all. It was dry. It had plenty of memorable characters, but in the long run, it just isn't up there.
This week, Survivor: Africa's last remaining graduate, Big Tom was voted out of the Chaboga Mogo tribe in a 4-1 decision. And to think: this guy was the swiung vote going in. He could have sided with whatever twosome he wanted, therefor basically ensuring a final 3 finish, which would have been better than he did last time (and that's something that no other final 4 finisher from their previous game could claim). But, turns out that nobody really trusted the guy, and he couldn't make a decision. Kinda similar to the fate of Christy back in the Amazon.
That leaves us with a final four consisting of two couples: Ramber, the first couple who actually hooked up on screen, and Jenna L. and Rupert, two Survivors who seemed doomed from the start thanks to a rocky beginning on Saboga.
How will things go down in the finale tonight? It's not THAT had to call...
Jenna L. and Rupert may have been together all this time, but they've also had their fare share of fights over the past 36 days in Panama. I think that either will easily jump over and vote with Ramber in an attempt to save themself. And that's what Jenna L. will do. When Rupert isn't able to secure himself a F4 immunity win, Rupie will get the ol' boot. There MAY be a tie first, but in a re-vote, Jenna L. would rather change her vote than take a chance after coming all this way.
Then at F3, look for Amber to win immunity. F3 immunity has usually gone to a smaller, weaker woman, one who may not have shown what they can do in the past: Kelly W., Colby, Kim J., Neleh, Brian, [/b]Jenna M.[/b] and Lillian have all won F3. And trust me... Amber would easily rather take Rob M. to the finals than Jenna L..
Predictions
4th Place - Rupert - Pearl Islands
3rd Place - Jenna L. - Borneo
Final 2 - Rob M. - Marquesas and Amber - The Australian Outback
Now, how will the jury vote? You have to remember by this point, a majority of them will have been stabbed in the back by both Rob M. AND Amber, so they won't be happy giving the money to either...
Lex - Rob
Kathy - Amber
Alicia - Amber
Shii Ann - Amber
Big Tom - Rob
Rupert - Rob
Jenna - Amber
I just think that Rob has burned too many bridges. Amber did the same thing, but she allowed Rob to do her dirty work for her. Shii Ann was on to this before she was voted out. It wasn't Rob controlling the game - it was Amber. The girl actually learned how to play since her experience in the Australian Outback. Good for her.
Overall, this season sucked. I don't much care for the concept of All-Stars because #1. - these people are all friends. They know one another. and #2 - they seek revenge and vote off the people who beat them before. I think that the only way an All-Star series would work is if they took 16 winners. That way, they're all on level playing ground.
Anyway, that's the end of my column for the season. I'll be back in September when 16 new ordinary Americans begin the adventure of a lifetime...
Until then....
