The title says it all. For me...there's a strong possibility that JoJo will finish at the top. She's got a big lead right now, and it doesn't look like "Leave (Get Out)" will be done by the end of December.

I don't want to give anything away because in all likelihood, the song currently topping my year-end chart will end up being my #1 song of the year...and if I give it away now, what fun would it be to reveal it at the end of the year?

All I'll say is that there's one song that's currently on my chart that has a good chance of toppling the song that's currently #1 on my year-end.

I confident that the Top 5 on my list will stay the same!

I was wondering when the cut-off date for the year is for everyone. A lot of the lists for the best songs of the year come out before the year is actually over, and I think mine will too.
I started my chart on December 1st of last year, so I've decided that the cut off date for the year is November 31st. That way it is kinda the best songs of the year, and the best songs in a yearly period of time of the chart.
Also, was wondering how many people allow songs that were charted previously to the end of the year on the next year's chart.

I don't use early cut-off dates - my chart year runs from the first calendar week to the last. As for my #1, I don't want to give anything away because in all likelihood, the song currently topping my year-end chart will end up being my #1 song of the year...and if I give it away now, what fun would it be to reveal it at the end of the year?

mine is still very much up in the air still, the last 9 weeks will really help to shape it all. with the volume of songs that are worthy of my end of year list, i may end up making my list 200 songs long or even 250, as opposed to my 150 last year.

The song that was tops for me at the half-way mark is still likely to reign at the end of the year. I believe we did a thread of our top songs at the half-way point in the year.

cut off dates?? that would suck to have a cut off date, my chart never takes a break (unless i shut it down) and runs 52 weeks a year no matter what, however not a single Christmas song has charted in the history of MUSEAK

Britney - Toxic Christina Milian - Dip It Low Linkin Park - Breaking The Habit
have all spent over 5wks on top and...
Linkin Park - From The Inside Linkin Park - Lying From You Avril - My Happy Ending Brand New - Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades
have racked up between 2-4wks on top. Still have a couple of weeks until December 31st. Stay tuned...

I usually have 50 charts in the year and freeze it for the last two weeks of December (to give me time to catch up for my yearend chart and get it up and stuff) but I count those last two weeks toward the final so if a song moves into #1 the last original chart of the year, it stays there for two additional weeks and thus gets those extra points. As for my yearend #1, I honestly haven't a clue. I have an idea as to who it COULD be but I wouldn't be surprised if that song wasn't #1 due to all the long lasting songs that have charted in 2004. So I'll be surprised when the end of the year comes. An additional note: my #9 song of 2003 is STILL on my weekly chart!
