Finally catching up on this! I still love this song and it has a lot of nostalgia value for me. This is probably my favorite Madonna song (and video) ever.

YESSSSSSSS. One of my favorite songs of all-time!!!! My Mom had the City Of Angels soundtrack back in the day and there were some BANGERS on there - of course this was the biggest one but it also had Iris and Angel! I loved this the moment I first heard it and it's held up so well. If I had a chart back then this absolutely would have been #1 for me.

Strongly disagree with your commentary on this one - loved it then, still love it now, and I never got sick of it.

VERY strongly disagree with the teen pop era being the worst era - I loved all that shit lol and still do. I always loved this song and I'm glad there's someone else who remembers/appreciates the video, even if it is very sad, because I also remember it coming out right after Geri left (and I was a huge fan which especially made it sad).

This is honestly still my favorite Alanis song. Listening to it always takes me back to that time and 6-year-old me being obsessed with this song. I even got the album on cassette for Christmas that year!

I always loved this song and I still think it's one of her best. It may even be my favorite from her. Another one that takes me back to that time.

I loved this when it was out for the exact same reason you mentioned - I always associated this more with Celine then R. Kelly. I liked "I Believe I Can Fly" for the Space Jam association but other than that I really didn't give a f*ck about R. Kelly and his stupid songs about his own stupid remixes. Since I have a lot of nostalgia for this one and it brings back childhood memories, I have a harder time letting go of this song and it's the ONE R. Kelly song I still listen to (although again, I liked this because of Celine who was also one of my faves during this time), but I completely understand why people including yourself have canceled the song and I understand why Celine herself has also canceled it. Tl;dr: f*ck R. Kelly.

Again, didn't know it when it was out but I do like this song a lot and I think it's one of his best. But why did he record it with Pam Anderson?!?! lmao

I never heard the version you're more familiar with - the one I remember was the one with the Rugrats music. And of course I loved this at the time as Rugrats was my favorite show from like 1997-2000. I saw both Rugrats movies in theaters!

I'll be honest and say 6-year-old me was a bit thrown off at this being the second single. I still liked it at the time but it wasn't as memorable to me as the Jagged Little Pill singles, Thank U, or Uninvited. The song ended up growing on me immensely around the time Alanis had a "resurgence" for me so to speak around 2004 when "Eight Easy Steps" was blowing up on my chart. I absolutely love this one now and find it extremely underrated. Also, keeping the honesty streak going - a board member who hasn't been on here in almost a year teased me for liking this song once in an MSN chat. Guess he was having a bad day...

I always liked this song, but it got SO overplayed in 1999 that I'm still a little sick of it lol but somehow I don't hate it or anything, I guess nostalgia?

First off I find it very interesting you mentioned "Everything" there. Maybe in Canada it's different but here in the US that song has become very obscure. I would've put "Hands Clean" there instead. Second, THIS SONG IS A BANGER! This is another one I appreciated more after the fall 2004 Alanis resurgence. One of her top 10 best songs ever.
