10. Kygo & Tina Turner - What's Love Got To Do With It (Peak: #1 For 2 weeks; 19 weeks on) Here's Kygo's highest entry for 2020! When I heard he was remixing the Tina Turner classic "What's Love Got To Do With It", I was instantly intrigued. Sure enough, it didn't disappoint me - it made Tina, then 80 years old, the oldest artist to hit both my #1 and top 10. It's a great update of an already timeless classic that reinvigorated my interest in it. 9. Dua Lipa - Break My Heart (Peak: #2; 22 weeks on) Here's the highest entry that didn't make it to #1... and of all the #2's in 2020 (most blocked by either Kate Voegele or Kelly Clarkson), I feel this is the one that most deserved #1. Dua Lipa has been one of my top pop girls of 2020, and this was a highlight from when I first heard it. Upon its single release, it went all the way up to #2, but due to longevity, ranks within my year-end top 10. The future is bright for her! 8. Chris Cornell - Patience (Peak: #1 For 2 weeks; 22 weeks on) Ever since Chris Cornell's untimely death in 2017, there have been many lawsuits, mostly involving the ownership of songs that he had recorded with intent to release as part of a Soundgarden project. While those still have not seen the light of day, an album of cover songs, "No One Sings Like You Anymore", was released by his estate. This lead single, a cover of the Guns N' Roses hit "Patience", became one of my favourites from him overall and was a #1 for me back in September. Chris is surely missed, but the quality of his unreleased music speaks volumes to his talent that he could cover so many songs and make them his own. 7. Bon Jovi - Do What You Can (Peak: #1 For 1 week; 22 weeks on) There aren't many bands who have been around since the 80's that I never once lost interest in... and Bon Jovi is a prime example of this. While the "2020" era started off shaky for me, looking like it was going to be their first dud era for me... this song took inspiration from the biggest story of 2020 - the COVID-19 pandemic. Probably one of the most honest takes on the whole situation that anyone can relate to, Bon Jovi bounced back with this, reaching #1 for the first time in 11 years and getting a hit in a 5th straight decade. And if this is any indication, I don't think Bon Jovi is anywhere near done yet! 6. Ozzy Osbourne feat. Elton John - Ordinary Man (Peak: #1 For 1 week; 24 weeks on) Prior to 2020, the collaboration by the oldest artists to reach #1 for me was "Just Feel Better" by Santana and Steven Tyler. Well, these two artists - both also born in the late 1940's - hit #1 14 years after, by which time they were both in their early 70's! Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne led an all-star cast of musicians on his latest album, of which this is the title track. Here he teams with fellow rock legend Elton John, lending his voice and piano skills to a classic ballad fitting of both artists. Nostalgia clearly won for me here as this reached #1 back in February and stuck around long enough to make my top 10 songs of the year!

5. Kelly Clarkson - I Dare You (Peak: #1 For 6 weeks; 18 weeks on) I knew that new Kelly Clarkson music would do very well for me. An anthem of hope when we need it most, she dared us to love... and recorded this song in multiple languages with musicians from around the world. I primarily listened to the English version - and it spent 6 weeks at #1, to nobody's surprise. So it should be a no-brainer that "I Dare You" ranks in my top 5 of the year - a familiar place for her, as she ranked there in 2005 x2, 2006, 2007, 2009 x2, 2012 (#1), 2013, 2015 x2 (including the #1), 2017, 2018... and now 2020. It's clear Kelly has been one of my longest lasting core artists and I hope the 2020's will continue to be as strong for her - if this is any indication, it should be! 4. Harry Styles - Adore You (Peak: #1 For 3 weeks; 26 weeks on) Harry's second album, "Fine Line", definitely did not disappoint me. All five singles released so far have peaked within my top 3, with this being the biggest, spending 3 weeks at #1 early in 2020. I was very pleased when this became a huge pop hit as well, showing that out of all the One Direction members, I felt he had the strongest solo material and the most star power. With this as successful as it is, and "Treat People With Kindness", the latest single, likely to do well for me in 2021, this follows his top 5 placing from 2017 with "Sign Of The Times" and I expect he will continue to hit strong for me in the coming years. 3. Katy Perry - Smile (Peak: #1 For 3 weeks; 23 weeks on) In 2020, Katy Perry released her latest album "Smile". While it wasn't as commercially successful as her past efforts, I feel she returned to form here after being very disappointed with her previous album "Witness". This, which samples the Naughty By Nature classic "Jamboree" (I'm used to hip hop songs sampling pop songs, but this was a case of the reverse that also worked), and made an uplifting pop anthem that became one of my hits of the summer. On the year-end, Katy gets my #3 of 2020 - her highest ranking since "I Kissed A Girl" did the same in 2008! 2. Kate Voegele - French (Peak: #1 For 6 weeks; 33 weeks on) Chart history is made here - the same singer has my top 2 songs of the year! Late in 2019, Kate Voegele released this single, which spent 6 weeks at #1 and held on well into 2020, spending a total of 33 weeks in my top 100! As she always does, Kate delivered lyrics from her life experiences, about how she was learning French living in Paris and she spoke it well enough to say bad things about those who wronged her! 1. Kate Voegele - Anxious (Peak: #1 For 8 weeks; 31 weeks on) And if #2 is Kate then #1... is also Kate? It really is a no-brainer here to anyone who knows my music taste well that Kate Voegele is my favourite singer ever. And here, she summed up how we've all been feeling with the state of the word in such an awful year. Everyone's been getting a little bit anxious, but Kate is here to assure you that everything will be alright. The message resonated strongly with me, and she spent 8 weeks at #1 - her second longest run at #1 ever, behind her 2008 breakthrough with "Only Fooling Myself". I knew this had to be my #1 of the year, and honestly, it wasn't even close. Congratulations Kate on your 6th year-end #1 to date! 2008: Only Fooling Myself 2009: 99 Times 2011: Heart In Chains 2016: Must Be Summertime 2019: When The Night Moves (with Tyler Hilton) 2020: Anxious

WELL DONE KATE! Well deserved. She keeps releasing amazing stuff and I can see why she's your core core-artist Katy gets #3! Cutie, I mean Harry, at #4. Solid stuff from his solo career. And there's Jekky! Glad she got a Top 5'er, as she's so used to it by now I also enjoyed "Do What You Can" and "Break My Heart. I feel like Dua is going to be huge if she keeps on the path she's on - I mean like up with the icons. A great Year End, Bryan!
